I know what you mean about the essays Rose. When I was at uni I always got better marks for work I left to the last minute. It did teach me to always go with my first instincts on stuff though coz obviously the more I think about things the worse they get lol.

Morning Rose :)

Morning Rose

Really want chocolate or just something crap. Bought an Atkins bar, had a bite, it tasted like fish so I threw it away.

Looked round marks, couldn't find anything I felt like taking back to uni for lunch.

Sigh, not sure why I'm finding everything so hard ATM. Still on plan but resenting it & everything right now. Totm has also officially checked in.

yes its lovely - or moser roths choc from aldi is in little 5g carb portions :D

Green & Blacks 85%? I can only eat 2 squares at a time and a bar lasts me about 3 weeks!

I have that now and then but it's not at all what I want. It's just such a pain. Fat & miserable vs dieting & unable to comfort eat so also miserable.

I want a mr whippy, it's driving me bloody mad. But one wouldn't mean I wouldn't want one next week. I haven't cheated on this diet. I'm just unhappy and have no comfort any more, even though it did me more harm than good.

Evening Rosebug, hope you have got through the day ok.

I must admit, I still haven't actually tasted an Atkins bar - I've heard so many horror stories of their effects that the original 4 pack I bought sits untouched....!

However, I am packing one for the plane tomorrow - in case i get desperate? Or will it make me desperate?
Xxx

To be honest I find them pretty horrible tasting - never had one taste like fish before though! So that was really bleurgh but at least it stopped me eating it just to 'feel better'.

Come on, Rose, just 1.5 - 2 stone more and you can start owling and maybe have the odd day off. This is frustrating but not forever. It's only April.

Food yesterday:

2 babybels
0g

Dietimeal shake x 2
3g

Few bites of cheese salad (lettuce, cucumber, sweetcorn, dressing, cheese)
4g

Bite of Atkins bar
0.5g

Pork crunch
0g

Total: 7.5g

Didn't like the bar or the salad at lunch, and fell asleep about 7:30 when I got home only to wake up just now at 6:30ish so no proper meals yesterday.

Ate like a gannet today:

3 babybels
0g

1/2 pack marks crispy bacon
0g

dietimeal shake
1.5g

peanut butter
3g

very small amount courgette and parma ham in home made cheese sauce
4g

steak, egg, LCM bread
2.5g

tea
4g

2 squares g&b choc
2g

pork crunch
0g

dietimeal vanilla dessert
6g

TOTAL 23g

Sts - as expected, really. Totm + 1 Atkins bar = stupid stall.

I hate sts. And it does make me feel like I may as well have had the ice cream I wanted so desperately on weds, because I may have gained a little but would prob. have lost it by next week. Realistically however I know that falling off the wagon once on an unplanned day means excusing myself to do it again, or going into a binge / binge cycle so I guess I'm glad I didn't.

Would really have liked a loss to pay off the effort. Maybe it will be a nice one next week.

I really hope next week is a good one for you Rose - your STS is probably just TOTM-related, hopefully you'll see a really good loss if you stick to what you're doing. Hated STS weeks with a vengeance, but we all get them, and mine - seriously - were usually followed by a nice big loss at the following WI.

30g of carbs day - largely because I ate two more (big) strawberries than I should have (and because I wasn't aware of the presence of strawberries when I planned the day).

food today:

1 slice lc toast (1.8g) with butter, peanut butter.
5g

3 mini babybels
0g

roast lamb, 1 shallot, cabbage, about 10 kernels sweetcorn, spoonful cauli cheese
7g

4 large strawberries and cream
12g

tea
2g

dietimeal shake
3g

TOTAL: 29g

Rose, tell me to bugger off if you like, but what sort of exercise are you doing, also are you drinking enough water, you don't mention either in your menus and I find they are an integral part for me......

I walk about half an hour uphill on college days but that's most of the exercise I get. As I have sciatica and was on crutches for a couple of years my legs are really weak, and I'm weak/easily tired in general for other reasons, so I don't do much exercise and have to focus quite a lot to even walk fast. I have a couple of exercise videos that I've done - though I have to leave out some moves - and wii fit - but honestly I'm not much of a fan of heavy exercise. Combination of being lazy and disliking pain. During the holidays I tend to go for a couple of mile walk round the park every other day or so.

I keep telling myself to do race for life or something to force me to do more, but I'm really not sure how well I'd cope.

Water, I mentioned it ages ago so don't write it in daily, but I have around 3-4 litres of fluids per day, mostly comprised of zero carb flavoured water. I used to have squash for the first couple of weeks but cut that out. Plain water makes me gag and I can't drink it, and I've drunk the flavoured water consistently on good weeks and bad so I can't see a stall issue.

When I'm out drinking is a little harder and I often have to rely on coke zero just because I can't carry heavy weights so lugging a decent sized bottle around is impossible. Again the coke zero has been consistent from the start.

Rose, I hear your pain!

This diet/way of eating is not easy. Simple, yes, and compared to VLCDs a complete doddle (I think!) but there are always going to be days and weeks, even, when the old carb cravings hit, and they can hit like a sledgehammer.

We are addicted to carbs, to the taste and texture and sweetness or starchiness or whatever. We just love food and too often it's the kind of food that's not good for us.

I have been struggling too since my Dad died but am determined to lose the regain. I know I can do it, and I shall. You CAN lose this weight, it just won't happen superfast. Why not? Because on Atkins we eat. We actually eat. Food! And a fair amount of it compared to other weight loss plans.

Chin up, girl! We will all get there xx
