Moral support is most important at a time like this hehe.. How do you manage with meals/ snacks for you and Dave hun? is he pretty supportive of your ww ways? x

Yeah he's really supportive :)

I've not moved in properly yet, so at the moment I've been having Morrisons NuMe meals for dinner which are about 8pp each, and I still have snacks but I make sure they fit in with my points.

When I move in we'll get some more saucepans and a freezer so that we can make proper meals and freeze the leftovers. I usually have loads of vegetables with every meal :)

It's good because Dave isn't one for snacking really, there are no cakes or biscuits in his flat, only a pack of wagon wheels! So I'm not really tempted by anything.

OMG Sarah! Not only am I jealous of your newly built wardrobe, I'm jealous of your Board Game Collection! Please Please Please can I come visit ;-) I promise to keep your Weetbaix In even numbers and will supply Mrs Crimbles ;-) x

Haha Serena you can totally come visit and play board games :) And yay for Mrs Crimble's!

Dave has gone out to see his friends, and I'm in the flat feeling ill :( I've had another IBS attack and I'm not sure what's caused it. I've not had much dairy- only the little bit in the mashed potato on top of the ready meal I had yesterday and the day before and it doesn't usually affect me. The only thing I can think of is that I've been eating quite a lot of bread- 4 slices today, 3 slices yesterday and 3 slices the day before. Plus 2 weetabix at breakfast which contains wheat (but not sure if contains gluten?). So I am wondering if I do have a gluten or wheat intolerance. I know that I was tested for Coeliac and it was negative, but I've heard the blood tests can give false negatives as they only test for a small part of it, or something. So I am thinking I will eliminate gluten for a month and see if it has any effect.

Though this afternoon I went out for a long walk, and in the park I discovered outdoor gym equipment! So I had a good go on that! I was out for about 45 minutes in total so that was good.

I will just repack my suitcase, it's hardly been unpacked this summer ;-) Sorry to hear about your IBS :-( Im not in the 'Wheat/Gluten Trigger' Group (Thankfully!) but can only imagine how u must be feeling with an Attack :-( Are u sure there was no hidden dairy in anything you have been eating? I just don't want you having the hassle of cutting out wheat/gluten and it not being that. X

Yeah you've been away on lots of adventures this summer!

I did have 2 shortcake biscuits today and yesterday which probably contained butter or something? But I doubt it was enough to give me symptoms as I can usually manage with little bits of dairy and be okay. I am wondering if it is the bread.

I might go back to my GP before I do anything to talk about it.

Which Bread Brand do you have? I wonder if it might just be a Dairy Build-Up from all the little bits. X

Oh, not good on the IBS attack Sarah. I'm no expert, but as you know I have been learning a lot about it lately through necessity! Apparently it is quite common for people who have a sensitivity to either gluten or dairy to develop it to the other group, but there are other possibilities too...

Once you cut a problem food out for a while, then you can react more severely to it when you reintroduce it.

I think you can get a sort of 'build-up' of symptoms and reach a point where your body gives in and reacts more than it has done in the past. This has definitely happened to me with the gkuten

A lot of breads have milk products in them. If you have been eating a lot of bread, you could have been eating dairy there without realising it.

Hope you feel better soon. xxx

Exactly what I thought regarding the Bread, great minds thought alike! X

I was having Morrisons white medium bread. It doesn't say that it contains milk, but that it may do due to the factory handling milk. So it's possible it does have some milk in it.

I totally forgot to post my intake today!

Breakfast- 2 original weetabix 3pp, milk 2pp
Lunch- 4 slices bread 9pp, marmite 1pp, ham 1pp, crisps 3pp
Dinner- half a NuMe mince and potatoes meal 4pp
Snacks- shortbread 4pp, 2 macaroons 6pp, crisps 3pp

I think the dairy contained in the bread might be to blame Sweetie. Yummy Day today, which shortbread do u have? X

Yeah it very well might be that Serena! Either way, I will not be having 4 slices of bread in one day again! I'm usually fine with just 1 slice. I might try wholemeal.

The shortbread was morrisons free from millionaires shortbread! Very yummy.

Mmmmm that does sound yummy! Hopefully Wholemeal would be ok? Ibs is a nightmare :-( x

I think one of the most annoying things about IBS is that it is not a 'one size fits all' thing. Although there are certain triggers that crop up regularly, it is a very individual thing as to what sets us off. Also I used to find I could eat a particular combination of food one day and be fine, then have the same thing another day and it would set off a really bad attack. So frustrating!

Totally agree! No one believes me when I say it's healthy food which sets me off, they just expect it to be junk food!x

How are u feeling today Sarah? Has the attack subsided? X

Yes it's very annoying, as I can get quite anxious that an attack will suddenly happen, and anxiety makes it worse! And I start uni very soon and will be commuting, and it's horrible needing the loo on a train/bus :(

I feel a bit better today, no more nasty toilet visits since last night.

I weighed this morning and naked I am 13st 7.8lbs :D so that should mean that clothed tonight at WI I will be under 14st!!!! That will mean I have my silver seven :D Fingers and toes crossed.
