Sarah's Slimming World Diary!

Wahhhhhhh I just need a bit of time to think about it I think. Head is not in the zone! I know SW works... I think maybe if I add in my own rule of what I can ear if i exercise... I won't go out of control then. Like maybe an extra 5 syns a day if I exercise - but they can't be carried over. Or something like that.

Back to uni tomorrow so need to get to bed! X

I used to let myself have between 5 and 10 more syns when I used to walk to work (45 mins each way) and the pounds dropped off... I think its because I wasnt holding back calories from my body... or u you could try eating more free foods like a full tin of beans instead of half

Just test it out.... if it works then fab and if not u know to take the syns/extra food down a bit :)

Its your plan and your journey.... do whats best for you :D

Ps: just noticed the post about you wanting to change your hair did u decide in the end?

Think that's the best plan! And I just need to plan ahead better. Might look at my timetable and properly plan each day so I have a basic plan to fall back in at least.

No didn't change hair in the end! Just had ends taken off. I'm growing out my blonde and the length of the roots at the mo is about fringe level. So if I had the fringe cut in, it would look like blonde hair with a brown fringe! The hair worlds quite well at the mo... Though I have roots, they blend pretty nicely and everyone seems I think I've paid to have it like this!

Had my first day back at uni. Found myself crying about granny whilst driving on the motorway,,. Not good! Haven't cried about it for over a week... Feel sad often but avoid crying! Had a million people ask me how living with dave was etc so had to repeat myself a million times that we had split up! Gets a bit depressing after a while!

Had a nice day with friends though and have some work to concentrate on now.

A pretty difficult first day I can imagine but at least it's over with now no one else will ask probably.

Good day so far!

Went to the gym. Get on really well with the gym instructor. He made me a program the other day and we had a good chat about it today. I have already increased the weights I'm lifting and he said he is really impressed with what I can lift - showed me the programs for other girls and I'm doing a lot more! I suppose it's a good thing but makes me feel a bit manly!

My basic program is 2 minutes easy all body cardio (I generally use cross trainer) followed by 8 mins high intensity. Then the six weight machines with 10/12 reps. Then if I want to finish I can do 8 mins high all body cardio and 2 easy to cool down. If I want to carry on (I can do up to four sets) then I do 8 mins high cardio and the weights again.

Really enjoy it. Takes about half an hour so I generally do two sets to take about an hour.

Did two sets today and am playing squash later. Have decided to give myself 5 syns for each workout, as my workouts are high intensity and will always be over half an hour. So today I warn an extra 10 syns, and I can carry them over if I like.

Think this will work well. I'm going out on Thursday night so it's good to feel I am earning the right to drink and eat differently!

Thinking that extra easy is easiest if I'm at home for the day but going to do red or green if it's a uni day. That way I can take babybels and Alpen lights and have double healthy extras for the long days.

Sounds like you're doing well with the gym. Can you not just do extra easy all the time?

I could do, although I find the extra healthy extras useful on days like uni days where I am out from 7-8 for example.

My brother came home with a cold today so had to cancel squash. Not his fault, But was really gutted as I was so looking forward to it. Oh well!

Food for today has been...

Green day

B: yoghurt (f), banana (sf)
L: roll (hexb1), spread (2), 2 x egg (f), baked beans (f), salad (sf), spring onions (sf), Philly Light (hexa1)
D: pasta (f), Philly Light (1/2 hexa2), quorn (f), onion (sf), salad (sf), yoghurt (1.5)
S: Alpen Light (1/2 hexb2), flapjack (2)
E: gym (2 sets) = +5 syns
Syns: 5.5/20

Pretty good day. Still got the 1/2 hexa2 and 1/2 hexb2 to use if I want. 5.5 syns used and 5 syns 'earned'

So far so good with the day at uni foodwise! Had breakfast of 2 yoghurts and a banana. Left the house at 9:30 for the train to get me to my 12 lecture - so annoying I have to have that much time travelling! Had an Alpen light on the train. Tummy was rumbling though and was a 2 hour lecture. No one eats in lectures and I didn't wanna be the only one eating!

Got on the train and 2:25 and have had 3 babybel lights and a vegetable and quorn pasta and another Alpen. Won't get home until about 4:45. Such a long day for only two hours of lectures!

Am going to watch a football match tonight - quite short notice so I haven't planned food. Wanted to get home and go straight to the gym for two sets. Had planned a jacket potato so not sure if ill have time before I leave for football. May take a mugshot and have that. We are invited to the boardroom before the football so will have to avoid the food in there!!

Doig well at staying on track! Yesterday for dinner I ended up having a mug shot and babybels and alpens as my healthy extras. Not a great dinner but all I could manage with the time I had. Managed to say no to all the free alcohol and food flowing in the chairmans box!

Today I have chosen a jacket with cheese and beans for lunch. Fruit, yoghurts and cereal bars ft breakfast and morning snack.

Night out tonight so need to be sensible with vodka and diet cokes. Dinner will be tricky as I'm in a B and B so may just do similar to last night and have mug shots!

Sounds like you're doing great, well done. How's uni going?

I did start a reply the other day but must have not posted it!

Thursday I was pretty good with food... Stuck to vodka all night and didn't eat anything afterwards. But.... Got massively drunk and felt horrendous the next day and ate for England! This is why I need to not drink much anymore. I just need to stop for a while as it is the day after that I ruin.

I was good on Saturday but pretty rubbish yesterday.

I'm feeling so stressed with uni. My commute is taking me 5 hours a day. I was expecting to be in 2/3 days a week and my timetable is 5 days a week... Costing about £80 a week and 5 hours a day. Is just stressing me out so much and I'm trying to work out alternatives. Was thinking of just moving there for 3 months but 3 month rents are hard to get, plus it feel I need to be here with mum as she is still very sad after Granny died.

I'm feeling more settled here too - most of my friends moved away and I am just starting to make some new friends, hanging out a lot with my brother which is nice and am getting into the gym here. I know if I move back to uni then I'll be horrendous with food and drink too.

So just feeling really stressed at the moment. I don't often get stressed and I hate the feeling of it. I've had such a crap summer with Granny and Dave and I could do with this being a bit easier really!

Trying to plan food for today but it's so tricky. Had breakfast. Not got time for gym. Need to get train at lunchtime so need lunch to eat on train. Won't get home til 8:30 so again need dinner for the train. Just finding it so hard to plan food that is suitable to be carried all day and eaten on the train!

Have JUST got in from uni! Think I've done well for food today. Not varied, not enough superfree, but within syns. Just going to have to face facts that it's difficult on uni days! Did a red day.

B: banana, yoghurts
L: roll (hexb1), 2 x sausages, cheese (hexa1)
D: roll (hexb2), 2 x chorizo sausages (5), cheese (hexa2), yoghurt (1.5)
S: curly wurly (6.5)

Syns: 13

Start cooking up extra dinners that have lots of super free in them and have the extra portion the next day for lunch. It is doable to have it all, just means more planning I think.

I'm finding at the moment that I'm leaving at 8, home at 8 and then have work to do. Cooking then is the least of my worries! Occasionally have shorter days but the amount of work I have to do is crazy.

Plus the trains I have are really busy and I don't want to be eating with a fork... If that makes sense?! Don't mind a quick sandwich, but I always hate it when people eat proper things next to me on the train - maybe I'm weird?! When I can ill have a jacket potato for lunch at uni.

Today isn't too bad - I left at 8:30 and I only have lectures from 11-1. Then will be home by 4. Going for a run with my brother. He's going to push me to see how far I can go. If I try on my own then ill just get bored and give up! Want a true reflection of how far I can go if I really try

Another problem is that there is nowhere to heat up my food.

Today food is a red day...

B: banana, 2 x yoghurts
S: 2 x Alpen light (hexb1)
L: roll (hexb2), ham,cheese (hexa1), cheddars (6.5), Apple
D: burgers, bacon, egg, cheese (hexa2), salad, onions, mushrooms

Tomorrow I'm in from 9-1 so will have the same breakfast and then I'm meeting a friend for a drink at lunch so I will probably buy myself a jacket potato with cheese and beans from the canteen. Will make it a green day as I find it nice to have the option of extra with extras.

Pretty proud of myself tonight... I ran! Got my brother to take me out for a run. Last time I ran outside was two years ago when I attempted c25k and got about half way through. My step mum, dad and brother did the tough Mudder recently and my ex just did a 10k. I'm so jealous when I see people running... It's something I wish I could do and I would love to do the commando challenge and possibly even tough Mudder one day!

Anyway... So there is a cycle track near me that is mostly flat but with two small hills. Thought I could maybe make it a third of the way. Got John to take me as he is super fit and will push me to go further. I ran the whole way! That is 1.4£ miles! So much further than. I thought I could go. I know it's not that far... And is 10.5 less than I need to do for tough Mudder! But... So proûhfmyself for going all that way. Ran halfway back too so that was over 2 miles altogether. Happy!

Eight days in and I'm bailing on my first lecture! Nooo! I got up this morning and was so tired and achy. Couldn't face driving 1.5 hours for a waste if time maths lecture!

So today I'm going to make the most of a day off and catch up on everything I don't usually have time to do! Will go to the gym, do all my chores, make some slimming world brownies!

Have done gym! Wasn't there for ages but long enough. I've increased my weights that I lift quite quickly... My gym instructor seems very impressed with my strength.... Maybe it's cos I've been lugging around extra weight for years?!

Got an appointment with a physio at 5... My hip is awful at the moment so definitely need to see someone.

Rest of day now is for chores, cooking up some meals to freeze and making slimming world brownies!
