Sarah's Target & 10K Mission

Morning sugar! Curry was immense - definitely give that recipe a go, it's by far the best curry we've ever made at home (and we cook a lot!). It's super simple, you just need to make sure you have enough time to simmer the onions down first, because that's the key to a lovely rich sauce.

Had a lovely little lie in this morning then got up and washed our bedding and got it out on the line in the sunshine. Love working from home! Have three more loads of washing in piles on the floor ready to go and will shortly be popping a beef casserole in the slow cooker.

Plan for today is EE;

B - 2 x brekkie biccies with raspberries
L - spicy parsnip soup (a Jamie Oliver recipe I've never tried before but man it's good!!)
D - beef casserole with mash and a tonne of veggies
Will be using my HEXA today for milk in tea and a splash in the mash :D

It's Friday eve guys - bring on that weeeeeeekeeeeeeend!! xx

Ooh we are so trying that curry!

Working from home sounds lovely, and so does the weather! It is due to rain up North :(

Food sounds delish today - you are really back on it girl!

xxxx

Boo to the weather you guys are having! Having said that, it's nice here today but the forecast for the weekend is pretty rubbish! xx

Made the curry you recommended today hon with prawns and haddock yum yum will def being it again! Also made syn free lemon meringue pie lush :)

So glad you liked it! It's a fab recipe - Dave actually found it and I was super impressed!

What does the lemon meringue pie consist of? It sounds awesome xx

So, a very very naughty weekend was had! My parents came 'round on Thursday and dinner was on plan (beef casserole) but Mum bought profiteroles round and I had three. The Friday night we went to watch Julian Lloyd-Webber play the cello (amazing!!) and we stopped at Prezzo. Went for chicken and a spicy sauce with veg...but also fries and a glass of prosecco. And a mini tub of ice cream in the interval.

Then Saturday Dave's dad and step mum came to stay and meet my parents for the first time. Dave and I were both so on edge we didn't really manage to enjoy ourselves at all, but I think everyone else did. Dave's dad is really hard work - very opinionated about everything but particularly politics. Luckily mine are super easy going and so just let him prattle on. I'm glad they've met now, that was a big relief.

Food on Saturday was:
B - Costa and a chocolate croissant
L - half a chocolate muffin
D - home made mushroom pate with rye toast, roast pork with ALL the trimmings, hot cross bun bread and butter pudding with custard

Food yesterday was:
B - white toast
L - bubble and squeak with Saturday leftovers topped with a fried egg
D - leftover bread and butter pudding
Snacks - Minstrels shared with the boy.

The good news is that now all of the naughty food has been eaten up and we can get back on plan!

So today is going to be EE:

B - Muller Greek (1/2) with raspberries
L - Spicy parsnip soup
D - Steak with potato wedges and a tonne of veg (green beas, broccoli, cauli etc.)
Snacks - Brekkie biccies (HEXB)

Hope everyone had gorgeous weekends and your Monday's fly by!

Omg I know just what it is like families meeting! Luckily ours are all easy going! They haven't met my dad yet but I think they'll get on well when they do :) Glad it went well for you

Did you weigh in this morning or leave it? Can't blame you if you left it hehe

Food sounds fab though and I know you'll get straight back on it which is what it is all about

I just remembered that I left that out of my post - what a doughnut! I managed (I have no idea how!) to STS this week so still 10.10. Got a LOT of eating out planned for next weekend so need to try and get a couple of fast days in this week to counteract it all! lol xx

Woop well done you

The 5:2 seems to work well for that!

Naughty or not, sounds so yummy!! Would sell a few fingers for a choc croissant! I used to have them every weekend when I worked in Tescos bakery!! No wonder I had to join SW! Glad you got through the parents meeting! Sounds like your parents personalities can definitely handle Dave's dad! I remember the first time Simon's parents met my dad a few years ago at my 21st and my dad is so socially awkward and he was just making the most confusing jokes! It was hilarious! Well done on the STS! I will be praying for the same result for myself tomorrow!! x

Haha. Love that, Tash. Sounds a little like my Dad - he's great once he knows people but takes a while for him to feel comfortable. He definitely had a little too much red wine on Saturday night but I think he was just nervous, bless him. My Mum gave Dave's dad (Joe) the look of death a couple of times when he said things that were taking the mickey out of either Dave or me, because she can be massively protective. Love her for that thought and don't think Joe even noticed!

We are surprising my Mum with a Michelin starred 7-course meal (at the hotel we stayed in for Christmas) for her birthday Saturday night and I'm super excited about spending some quality time with my parents. I always know how lucky I am, but it really hammers it home when we see Dave's dad who writes us a cheque and walks away for a few months (which is lovely, obviously), but my parents put the time in to make our house move easy and have bought us things they know we really love.

xx

It looks like it works both ways with your mum being treated by you to such an amazing pressie on Saturday!! I bet you're just so relieved the weekend is over after the stress/nerves of it all! xx

I really am, Lil. It all went by in such a blur because I was so stressed and it meant I couldn't really enjoy it. I'm glad they got on OK though - hopefully we can get them all together for a BBQ or something in the summer and that will be less awkward/stressful!! xx

Hehe I love this little subject! The first time is always the hardest/most anticipated right?! My side haven't met Robbie's yet...I think our mums are desperate to meet each other but we just haven't got round to it....plus my dad is so shy that I think he'd just sit there and not say a word and I'd be worried ppl thought he was being rude, but he's just more the type to take in his surroundings, you know?! Anyway...sounds like all went swimmingly and a summer BBQ sounds just the ticket for a chilled family filled fun day!

Well done on the scales huni, maybe the nervous energy you burnt off balanced out any naughtiness! :) xxx
