Secret to shaping up

Hi Illa - congratulations on your new arrival :) You start with week 1 and do all three week 1 sessions - so week 1 Cardio, week 1 Core and week 1 Resistance. You then move on to week 2 and do the same. So its one of each session each week. Most of us have our regular days for each so it makes it easier to keep track. I do Cardio on a Sunday, Core on a Tuesday and Res on a Thursday.

Good luck. Its a fab programme if you stick with it and works wonders. x

Hi Sue,

Looking at your stats, we seem to be on a very similar journey, albeit you at the end and me at the beginning!! Same approx weight loss and same way of doing it (WW & Kettleworx).

Just wanted to ask if you have any tips, how long its taken you, anything to look out for? Also do you have any before and after photos? Would be really nice to visualise the kind of loss I'm really hoping to achieve!!!

Thanks and congrats on your amazing weight loss, you're an inspiration!!!

:girlpower: :happy096:

Hi all,

Still reading the thread and swinging away in the background! Just been doing my favourite moves this week as DVD player has packed in!

Just thought I'd rear my head to congratulate Sue on reaching target, you're amazing!! Well done. ps. Would also love before/after photos if you have any?

Congratulations again you must be thrilled.

Tips: Don't be afraid to use the pause button - there's no prizes for doing the session as quickly as possible. Get yourself into a regular routine by selecting set days to do a set workout, i.e. Cardio on a Sunday etc. Unless you are on holiday and actually separated from your bells, don't miss a session - even over Christmas I still did the bells but instead of the 20 minute sessions I did the Fast Fat Burn or Fast Abs which are 10 minute sessions. When an exercise is no longer challenging you, up the weight of your bell - I now have a range of four bells from 5kg to 10kg and I use them all for different exercises. Oh and lastly, always pat yourself on the back at the end! :D

Hope this helps. Kettlebells are amazing, they really work and they can even be fun! Yes that's right, exercise that can be fun

Here's a copy of a post I made today in another thread I subscribe to (Tough Love if anyones interested) which raises some interesting info:

Right Bassers - here's some stats which might help in target setting. My average loss for 6.5 stone in 69 weeks was 1.32lbs per week. During this time there were the usual setbacks like Christmas and Holidays but I only gained on two weeks over this time. Both times I put on 3lbs and both times I took it straight back off the following week. Below is the average weight loss for each stone lost:

Stone 1 = 5 weeks = average loss of 2.8lbs per week
Stone 2 = 9 weeks = average loss of 1.5lbs per week
Stone 3 = 8 weeks = average loss of 1.75lbs per week - started kettlebells programme after losing 2 stone
Stone 4 = 8 weeks = average loss of 1.75lbs per week
Stone 5 = 12 weeks = average loss of 1.16lbs per week - includes Xmas gain in this period
Stone 6 = 16 weeks = average loss of 0.875lbs per week - includes Holiday gain in this period
Stone 6.5 = 11 weeks = average loss of 0.64lbs per week

Think this is quite interesting as it clearly shows the exercise kicking in and then the slow down as the stones are lost. Bear in mind that I have kept to 29 WW ProPoints throughout the diet, i.e. have not dropped down any points at all and that after losing 2 stone I have adopted a kettlebells workout 3 times a week and have kept to this faithfully - neither upping the sessions or dropping any. I did this deliberately so I can keep to this regime easily forever and ever!

This might help folk nearing their goal weights. Actually I wish I'd have done it earlier as I was always working on my total average loss to try and work out targets and looking now that probably wasn't the most realistic way of doing it.

Hope this helps. :)

Great photos Sue you look like a different person! Amazing work!
Your break down of weight loss is really interesting- kettlebells seemed to speed things up initially. Probably pushing my luck now but did you happen to keep track of overall inch loss? Would be really interested to see! Congrats again Sue hope you are treating yourself tonsimething nice now at goal?!

Thanks for this Sue, this really has helped me too!! I think for me where I've gone wrong previously has been where I've expected too much of a weight loss or been disappointed with a 1 or 2lb loss and just given up, whereas in fact this all just adds to our journey!!

I'm definitely going to use this though to set myself some targets to try and get there!!!

Id also be interested in inch loss throughout? Im trying to keep a record now as I keep getting told sometimes we won't get the loss in weight but should notice on inch loss!!

Hi everyone. I'm back from my trip to the UK. Although I had a 5kg bell we didn't manage to swing together more than a few times. I think I was pining for Ryan! I have only lost a couple of pounds but that is certainly better than a gain.

Back to business today with 8kg bell. Slowly does it to start with and I am not expecting to be able to walk on Friday.

Sue - thank you for sharing your journey with us. You have certainly kept me going and inspired me over the past few months and as a result I am also wearing size 14 for the first time in 20 years.

Hiya - thanks again everyone! I did keep a record of cms lost. If you look in the stats and inches thread within the kettlebell forum you will find it there.

Sue

Hi Everyone!!

Hope you are all well. I got home from a crap day at work to find that my kettleworx set had arrived - far earlier than expected!!! Have set up a new thread in regards to my diary but just a quick update...tried Core...not sure if we have to do them in some sort of order? Anyways....I really enjoyed it, found it quite difficult but that can only be a good thing....hopefully it'll become easier the fitter I get!!

Hardest exercise for me was the one where you lift you legs in the air laid down, and push your bum off the floor, come back down and do a crunch! Found that a struggle but I did as many as I could!!!

Onwards and upwards.........

really struggling with it but trying to stick to it! finding i'm aching for so long afterwards that it's hard to start it up again! no pain no gain! :D

It does get better I promise you. I haven't been doing much swinging during the past 4 weeks and started with 8kg yesterday. I was surprised to find it didn't kill me as I'd expected. I actually miss the glute pulses whilst lying in bed. This happens when you have done a really good work out and 5 hours later the muscles are still working hard. Good luck and stick with it.

Good to see so many new ppl kettlebelling! Sue still can't believe the change

I did week 2 resistance last night, going to get back to doing it regularly now x

Hi All, I've now completed week 1 core and resistance! Did resistance this morning and found I was a lot more tired throughout than Core...now dreading Cardio haha!!! I'm sure it'll all get easier, and I keep thinking its one step closer to banishing those bingo wings for good!!!
