Secret to shaping up

woohoo, well done donzy! Just finished week 1 for the second time. I did resistance today and even managed one set of punches with my 5kg  I am amazed, the other day I tried one punch and couldn't do it! How quick are these results?!?!

Can i join the golden oldie club. Not in age but in spirit ... I enjoy crocheting :ashamed0005: You may all now disown me :D

Hi Donzy :) core is the best lol

Numnum you go with that 5kg :) a set of punches, fantastic, I know its quite awesome to be able to do a set after such a short time frame
I need to be taught how to knit or crochet lol

Morning swingers

Another early rise due to those pesky gulls( feel like throwing my bell
At them lol)

Numnum that's amazing you can do a set of punches with your 5kg, I still have to kind of bend my arm a bit and can't get it all the way out!

Donzy core is great isn't it, I always look forward to it :)

Gettingfit I'm glad you've swapped the blanket got the bells and kron I can't believe you're a few years off 50! That's amazing! You don't look a day over 21!:)

Well I have the 'cardio aches' today - I was really going for it with the squats yesterday and today my thighs and butt are sore!!and my arms and across my chest feel achey too- must have been that one proper push up that did it!!

P.s how much water do you all drink? I've read 2.5 litres a day and more if exercising so I was aiming for 3 Litres a day this week- does that sound ok?

im terrible and only get in about 1.5L a day and thats me making a conscious effort. I do drink tea though although Im not sure if that counts?

Hi Chick, you are so lovely :) Good achey feeling I hope lol
Be mindful that food contains water, so you need to calculate that within your fluid intake. I agree that drinking water is good for you, while your body adjusts to increased fluid intake it could have an impact on the scales for a short time. I find that fluid intake increases through exercise as you tend to drink more when working out.

Yes numnum I've read that the water in tea counts but not coffee as this leaves the body dehydrated, I'm sure someone will
Correct me if I'm wrong about that! I only really drink water and diluting juice but 3 litres sounds like loads, even to me!! I managed my 3 litres yesterday but was constantly visiting the loo Lol not sure I can drink as much at work- can't exactly excuse my self from class for a toilet break lol

Morning swingers lol

Week 4 completed yesterday with cardio. Was quite a toughie! Don't know what it's called but when u squat and hold the bell out in front of you...... Had to swap down to my 4 for second set.
Really felt good to get it done.
Have a great Sunday everyone :)

Aww thanks sue - yes I was just reading Kron's opinion on the York Vinyl ones and they do look pretty bulky :) will have to go to my local big tesco tomorrow and see if they're there :) would be brilliant! Thank you :) How long have you been doing KB for? Would you say an exercise mat is a good purchase (if i'm honest it never crossed my mind lol i'm such an exercise newbie!)

PS. Sue if that's your cat in your pic, then he/she is a cutie!)

Hi Bugsbunny - I would definately get a mat especially for the core workouts as you spend most of the time on the floor. Keeps the sweat off the carpet :D and gives you just a bit of cushioning to the back - vital for the oldies amongst us!

I've only been on the bells for two weeks. First week was spent practising moves Kron had kindly posted whilst I was waiting for my Kettleworx DVDs to arrive. Last week was my first week proper and I'm about to do Wk2 Cardio in about 30mins once breakfast has gone down. I am sticking to set days of Sunday,Tuesday and Thursday as these fit in with my work.

I really would recommend Kettleworx. I have a lot of weight to lose and would never go to a gym or the pool due to embarrasment. Also I have mahoosive knockers so the thought of jumping about would not be good. Too uncomfortable and don't fancy a couple of black eyes! :D Hopefully KB will be good for you because of your time constraints.

Finally and most importantly, that is one of my cats in the photo. His name is Hartson and he is a big ginger softie of a lump. I also have his mum, Florence who is tiny by comparison but very feisty! Hartson spends most of his days on the kitchen table stretched out in patches of sunlight and then turns into a shrew killing machine at night!

Wk2 Cardio done!:D

Wasn't expecting there to be so much floor work - feet were down for most of them but did them all with the 5kg. Wasn't expecting the jumping jacks either. Had to do the 2nd set holding my boobs for fear my bra would give way.

Bring on core on Tuesday!

Hi :)

Cleogin week 4 done already! I know the move your talking about, sometimes the time just doesnt go fast enough lol Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Sue Week 2 cardio all with your 5 :) great work, luckily not too many jump around moves so hopefully your bra will keep hold on to those bad boys lol

i have just finished a few sets. yesterday did some ab work and a few freestyle moves, today have done a 5 min body workout circuit, abs and practiced a couple of new short circuits with my 10 :) i need to drop down for some of the abs moves as you start lieing down and roll up to sitting position and my arms get tired lol. But I can honestly say, i can see a difference in my abs after doing them :)
So catching my breath and waiting for my yogurt to freeze so i can mix it with my strawberries

10kg bell, Kron! Must be the grand-daddy Bell on here. Was it Sweet that went from her Daddy Bell of 7.5kg to her Baby's Rattle of 5lb? I still giggle at that now.

Enjoy your strawberries. :)

Sweet started and struggled with a 3kg, but was using a 7.5 by the end of the 6 weeks and getting on with it fine :) she has done so well and shown what you can achieve in a short space of time

Sat in the garden to eat my strawberries as sun is out, but now clouded over lol, has this been the worst summer, just when I look for excuses to wear a lot lot less than I used to lol

It was Shazz that used the baby rattle lol she started with 7.5 omg she did really well with it, so when she swapped down it was a 5kg affectionately known as her baby rattle in comparison lol

Aww well you all sound so pleased with KB that it would be stupid of me not to give it a go! Unfortunately, I went to Tesco earlier and they had sold out of the 5kg bell :'( so what I might do is go to Argos and get the Davina set (2.5kg, 5kg and 7.5kg) for £25. That way I already have them there to work up to (or that's what I think.... sound okay?!)

I will also invest in an exercise mat. We have tiled and laminate flooring... so don't wanna be lying on that all the time! Thanks for the advice!

Aww your cats sound wonderful. I have two: Coco, she's 15yrs old with the mental age of a 15month old lol! And Buster who is a big flump, wouldn't hurt a fly (but does take pleasure in bringing mice in every time it rains and leaving them for me... or part of them :sigh: ) but he is lovely. Everyone wants to steal him when they meet him.. including my boyfriend lol!!) No doubt i'll be sweating and panting away doing some kettleworx while they look at me, as as they are sprawled out across my bed, judging me for doing too much activity hehehe!! xx

Cats eh. Can cut you down to size with just one withering look!! :)

It's been so lovely here that I put the lounger cushion on the decking and done some Kettlebell exercises.:)

Oooh get you. Swinging outside. Whatever will the neighbours say!! :D:D
