Secret to shaping up

Aww I guess you're right Donzy. I like that twinge to remind me I just did an amazing workout!! I just wish it didn't hurt to laugh haha...owww! lol xx
 
Haha bugs, Donzys right that after a couple of weeks the pain reduces and feels more of an ache which is a nicer feeling to have :)

Muscles love protein, so it is good to incorporate this food type within your diet so chicken, fish etc is an excellent food when working your muscles

If you wanted to you could take a paracetamol/aspirin to help with aches and pains. Another good thing is to make sure your stretching well at the end, so maybe do a few more stretches afterwards
 
I agree too, the aches do lessen, honest!! Until you move up to a bigger bell, then they come back :giggle:

I meant your bloke bunny, I think Kron mentioned he was a bit of a hotty .. don't worry I'm not stalking all of Krons Kronies :giggle:
 
Ohh yeah he's not too bad on the eye ;) will be even better when I get him doing kettlebells. Not so much visually, I just want someone else to share the pain with hahaha!!

I hope these aches lesson. I sneezed earlier and thought my abs where gonna burst hahah!!
My weight stayed the same since 20/08 :D very pleased with that since my little scare of 10st 13lbs this morning (definitely gonna start giving my scales a miss next week!!) Now just to keep going with KBs, be good on plan (gonna try and have more syns, and more superfree foods :D ). If my weight doesn't go down next week, I'll try not to worry, I'll put it down to KBs and keep going :) xx
 
Well that's it. Done. Week 1 Resistance done and week 1 workouts COMPLETED. My arms hurt, my hips hurt, my hurting hurts lol! I do have a really sore part, bottom lower back, like at the bottom of my spine.... feels bruised. Maybe my posture wasn't very good? Or I've knocked it when getting on and off the mat? I tell ya, it made Resistance harder today!! Luckily it was all arm work.

Okay so a little reflection of week 1:

Lows:
Baseball pitcher one. Legs shake alot lol struggle to get feet FLAT on the floor!
The rockclimber one. That's just hard lol
Press ups. Don't know how to do them. Need to learn that before I incorporate the KB.

Highs:
Managed to do the plank today - twice - without shaking too much. Unlike yesterday!
Went from 2.5kg to 5kg within one workout.
Punches - even though still got to use 2.5kg - are getting stronger, especially in Right Hand.

Overall, my body is in pain. But it's also the feeling of accomplishment. I've survived my first week. Only 5 more to go :D

I am chuffed, I ordered a Katami kb DVD yesterday, and its here already. Bit scared to try it lol, but knowing me will be firing it up before the end of the day

Ok, KW can be repeated upping the weight, as each session is different you are not repeating the same workout over and over.

Most of my other DVDs are either tutorial, so give instructions on moves without a follow along workout so you can make your own routine, or a 45-50 min follow along workout which you repeat over and over. I do have a DVD which has a few 5-15 min all over body workouts which I like to use with some body shaping freestyle to create my own workout

You can get cardio or body shaping as a main theme pending on whether you like to be sweaty breathless mess or slow and steady moves concentrating on form and definition.

Also how much do you want to spend? Remember to always add a kb DVD to birthday and christmas lists :)
As I have a few now, I tend not to get bored doing the same one over and over, as I mix it up and do KW sessions as well.

So for me to help suggest something have a think about what I have written and let me know

I have just done my new DVD - well not quite done, started doing it then lay on the floor fast forwarding thru to the end thinking omg really! Lol, it is totm so didn't want to push myself today
 
I want to focus on shaping and toning- the KW has done that to a degree, I can feel my stomach muscles and things and bum being toned- but I sill have a bit of a podge! So I guess a bit of both would be nice :)
Money wise, I don't mind too much- have birthday and Christmas coming up :)
I'm going to continue KW after I finish, but wanted something new too!
Also need a heavier weight, my 4kg (8lb?) is a bit light for some exercises!
 
Firstly you must up your weight, your 4 isn't challenging you so your slowing down your inch loss.
I think you will struggle but cope and really challenge yourself with a 7.5 but that's nearly double and I went from my 4.5 to 8 - but not for long quickly went and got a 6 :) but I was a lot more overweight, and older and didnt take a minute to consider the benefits if i just persevered. You can go to a 6 and that will feel tough and like starting again at first lol it is nice to have a variety of weights as you progress

I will go find you some links and post them shortly so you can have a browse

These will be good
Both katami are hard (just got his second one today, and i can see its going to be a challenge) and need good balance for some of the moves, but very effective and will hit cardio and toning. You do 30 sec with some 60 sec timed moves, his combos are hard hitting lol

Kettlercise i have not got, but if it follows the principles i get at class it will give you cardio with toning - the link is with a bell, but i have seen the dvd sold on its own

Practical Kettlebells is not what i think your looking for right now

Well swingers i've just completed week 5 resistance followed by cardio!!! I am well and trully KNACKERED!!!!

Did majority with 7.5 kg bell but had to drop to 5 for the usual suspects and some of 2nd set cardio!! I'm so amazed I didn't keel over some really killer moves on cardio 5 you'll all pleased to know!!! Oh and progress made on push ups! MAnaged about 4 this time( proper ones!) I can feel my arms burning already!

Need to go and tick off week 5 now! Brung on week 6 :)

Thanks bugs- did I mention I scoffed a double choc chip muffin and some chilli doritos before it?! Hope I managed to burn some of it off :)

Extremely well done on managing with your 7.5 most of the time
And 4 push ups done! Fantastic, your strength has improved so much.
