Sharon's Before 50 Plan

Hi sharon,
As yet I've not written the diary on here, I've got my tracker or whatever its called and am jotting things down on the SW site. For a long time I've done WW but this is so different and it keeps my mind alert ( well a bit) so I'm seaching web sites etc to find tasty meals. Feels like christmas is here I love taking on new challenges and this is one...sorry waffling again enjoy your weekend x

Hi Anne. You can eat so much in SW it's fab and loads of great recipes, my family love all the yummy recipes. Theres a great looking pie recipe in the current magazine that I must get around to making as hubby quite fancies it too. You're waffling at all, good to hear from you x I've done WW in the past but do find SW better for me personally. The EE plan in particular is fab. Hope you have a good weekend planned. Six weeks to Xmas itself - going to be here before we know it hey :).

Thanks Mandy. I was quite happy as it was a lot worse, so it's coming down :). Hi Cookie xx

Not sure what we're doing today yet but everyone has arrived. Hubby cooked spaghetti bolognaise last night - so quite a chilled evening after work and catching up with my sister in law. Kelly is over staying with her bf but I'll catch up with them on Sunday, she's seen hubby as he was day off yesterday so sorted some things at home too :). Chilled weekend I think and sticking with plans as I want more of this gain gone next week.

Well food wise today all on track, making mayflower curry for dinner, syns will flex a tad later as wine with sister in law. Only had fruit, v low fat fromage frais, tbsp honey, a slice toast with marmite and some grapes all day though as up late and been down to the shops at Truro, Did buy small Xmas cake and cake with loads of nice fruit on top from M&S - not huge ones, towards family food at Xmas - thinking I can always have tiny wee bit and then make them eat it. Tia Maria was on offer at the co-op so bought some as hubby likes that too and it's lower syns than wine with diet coke at Xmas. Saw earlier that Iceland hoisin skewers are 1 syn the box so will get some of those for Xmas tea buffet too. treats and damage limitation for Xmas is my plan at the mo, I think :) bought some lovely chutneys at the Xmas market too which I though everyone would enjoy - again moderation for me.

Hi Sharon. Just found your diary and am going to go back and read it. Well done on your weight loss so far. I am trying to slim down for my 40th which is on the 11th April, so we have similar goals in similar timescales. Good luck xxx

Wow you're doing well Anju 100.
I must brag about yesterday, We went to a charity dinner for the Heart Foundation and I had two diet cokes and two halves of lager, which I've syned at 5 each but not sure. The meal was ok so only needed to syn the two small roast pots which I called 4 but they were small?? The lady next to me commented that she was on SW but struggling to lose? she said she kept yo-yoing which I do too. She then proceeded to drink ( by herself) a full bottle of red wine???? She didn't overeat but did have the profiterroles and hot choc and cream...is it me? but I gave them a miss thinking I couldn't eat one so best to leave them alone?? At the end of the night I realized why she yo-yoed...but I also realized why I do, like her I USUALLY eat everything and think its ok , last night I was so proud of myself that I stopped before I was full and not afterwards. I stood on the scales this morning and think that I've lost 1lb. hopefully!!

Hi Anju. Oo yes similar aims :). Our birthdays will be here before we know it. I want to lose as much as possible for mine and as I prob won't be at target by then finish the job then in 2014 but definitely want to get a load more off by then and buy a fabulous dress for our niece's wedding three days after my big 50.. I'm on my iPad at the mo so can't see at the mo if you have a diary without looking at the web version (currently using the app) so will have a look in a mo. Would be good to spur each other on and I love reading everyone's diary too. Great people on here.

Ok just peeped on the web.... WOW 5 st 3.5 since Jan, that's amazing - well done Anju. :) can't see a diary link though?

Hi Anne. Go to Weight loss diaries and click on post new thread - add a title, whatever you want to call it and go from there. You can copy and paste the link from web browser if on web version into your signature so we can find you :)

Well done on that halo last night you did amazingly well and to have kicked that holiday lb into touch us fab. Re the lady you talked about we can all kid ourself so sometimes we all need to take a close look at what we're doing weekly, we all have odd special occasion, but you just can't get away with that every week. You deserve to be proud of yourself :).

Thanks Sharon,
Does anyone know how many syns in aldi beans and sausage, I've tried to find it on SW but can't find it? doh!
I'll start a diary this aft when hubby watches football xx

Thanks Sharon, too busy to write my own diary - sorry!
I would love to lose another 4 stone by the time I get to my birthday, but the weight is being really stubborn at the moment and I fluctuate between a gain and loss! Trying a red week this week to see how I get on. Roll on WI on Tuesday.

Good Luck Anju x

Just checked again on line and Aldis beans and saus are 7 syns for a whole can..might need to rethink this one! After two nights out I've only 15 syns out of the 105.

That's quite a lot when there are things that you can have for free but ok if you count it. The little branded free foods book you can buy lists lots of the branded syn free tins - worth a look. Think I need to scan it too for some quick winter packed lunch options as we have a microwave at work.

It's hard when that happens Anju. I usually get fluid blips with my monthlies but the current gain I'm beating back was my lovely holiday :) I figure if I just stick with it I will be lighter by my birthday even if not at target as we all lose weight at different rates but will have done my best and still be the lightest for years, the weight I am now I've not been at since 2000 so feels good :) Starting to think about the sort of foods we can weave in over Xmas to keep some sort of control. You've done really fab - must of made such a huge difference to you already. Having an aim definitely helps to find a focus hey.

Having a lovely weekend Mandy :).

Our guests have now gone, had a lovely weekend. Roast pork lunch was yummy and when everyone else had gooseberry pie I had meringue nest, fresh fruit, v low fat fromage frais and tbsp honey. Now watching a film snuggled up in the warm - The Golden Compass.

Just reading the last few posts Sharon. Your weekend sounded brilliant. Anju your weight loss is amazing. Besney I have been doing this since May 2013 and lost 12 lb which doesn't sound like a great achievement but it's the most I have lost in about 6 years and I have dropped a dress size and comfortably fit in clothes I haven't for ages. The important bit is I have kept it off. The last couple of months I have really maintained but now I am determined to loose another 15 lbs to get to my target. It takes a while of trial and error I think to know what foods are your best choices to loose weight and to settle into it and know what you can and cannot have. I defrosted my freezer yesterday and threw out stuff I just Will not eat again. Have to be in it for the long haul I guess. Sharon will tell you that my worst thing is red wine, it took me years to realise but that is my biggest down fall which is probably the ladies you met last night!!! Anyway lecture over, the people on this forum have been the most help to me more than even the meetings to be honest!!!

Thanks guys. The support on minis is amazing. It has really helped me stay focussed and keep my head when I am close to giving in. Just found out I have been nominated for Miss Slinky, voting will be this week at WI on Tuesday
