Shrinki's low carb food diary

Morning All

Week 2 WI = -4 so 8 pounds in two weeks. Very happy. I didn't measure but can see and feel a big difference and will feel much better about dress shopping this weekend for the two dresses.

Will weigh in on Thursday morning before leaving for Dubai and then will skip one weigh in and weigh in the week after. I am going to cut myself some slack at the weekend Dietwise but don't want to go mad. We are going to two completely different weddings - I have no idea what type of food will be served. Very excited!

No relief on the stomach front so didn't sleep particularly well. Will take some more psyllium husks this morning and drink loads of water and then have lots of tea (without any milk) which used to help.

Thats all for now x

Welldone on the WI :-S x
I bet u r excited for dress shopping!! I love dress shopping!!! :) xx

Ahh you are going through it a bit Jane
what with the tooth trouble and now the tummy trouble
I think sometimes strong AB's can upset the system for
a bit and may be the reason your tummy is a bit dodgy
hope the husks work the magic soon Jane
very exciting stuff these weddings in Dubia
I wish I was coming with :giggle: I love a good wedding

Thanks Kals, I think it's because I had hardly an veg/salad mon-thurs when I had all the tooth problems and so have just got blocked!! Will just keep taking the husks until it sorts itself out. I have to admit that I was surprised that I hadn't had problems before as was often blocked on induction levels of Atkins.
X

Just got home from meeting a friend for coffee and had some cheese with walnuts in and some berries with cream. Going out for lunch today but hope to have fish and veg or smoked salmon platter.

Am making fish with cheese sauce, runner beans and creamed spinach for dinner tonight.

Hi, lunch was slices of roast beef, slices of gherkin and 3 cherry tomatoes. Not a huge amount but very tasty!

Dinner was unbelievable! If I say so myself!
White pan fried fish (just pan fried in butter and dash of oil for about 4 mins first side and 1.5 mins other. With cheese sauce poured over and some spinach and runner beans.

Cheese sauce was totally delicious - the best low carb version I have ever made (adapted from Internet recipe)

Melt a large knob of butter in to a saucepan over gentle heat
add approx a third of a pot of Philadelphia
add a handful of cheese (I used cheddar)
I also added some hot sauce because I like the flavour but you could add mustard or any other herb. Tiny dash of cream if too thick.
melt together and enjoy!

Evening Jane... Too many husks can make you more blocked ... Please be careful...

Antibiotics can make you constipated - I suggest taking a laxative - either dulcolax or something from the pharmacy...

Take care! Xx

That cheese sauce sounds both easy and delish will defo give that a go
Forgot to say is that book you mentioned in my diary by Charles Clark Jane I hope I have got the right one

Hi Kals. The whole dinner took me seven minutes! Was so lush. Best cheese sauce I have ever had (better than flour one even).

The book is:
The New High Protein Diet: How to Lose Fat the Quicker, Safer, Easier Way - And Never Go Hungry (Paperback)
Dr. Charles Clark

Morning!

Am feeling a bit worse for wear as hubby and I ended up drinking a bottle of champagne last night (and some vodka before that!). Didn't eat anything after my dinner though.

Kids are going off to kg and I am getting my nails (gel mani/pedi) done in time for my trip. Then I have my last German lesson for three weeks this afternoon.

Am getting pretty excited. My Dad arrives tomorrow (mum not coming this time) and we leave her at 12noon Thursday.

I've decided for the middle easten wedding, I am going to wear skinny black trousers and buy a lovely bright long sleeved top so that I am covered up. I really don't know the form regarding arms and legs on show and don't want to make a mistake. We are going to an evening reception so I think this outfit is suitable. What do you think?

Then I will buy a new dress for the Indian one (which I can also wear in May to my sister in law's wedding).

Must get up and grab a coffee before waking the kids. Have a nice day xx

Oh so exciting ... Weddings can be lots of fun! And I like your choice of clothing Jane...

Enjoy the mani/pedi! Xxx

Hi guys, was so delicious that I am going to have the same again tonight but with bacon bits in the sauce

Didn't get to eat until 1.30 and was soooo hungry. Egg foo yung sorted that out! Then a slice of cheddar with boursin garlic spread on  now having a coffee with cream. Gotta love Atkins!

I think you'll like it Kals as you can eat more veg and one slice of bread a day (and one orange). Jx

Gonna read it in work today :D
Was a bit  when it arrived this morning as only ordered it yesterday lol
All sounding good with you Jane
Happy afternoon lovely x

One word - bleurghhhh!

I feel rotten...

I think the stomach problems must be antibiotic related as suddenly feel very sick and stomach ache and have had a touch of bad stomach but still feel blocked if you know what I mean.

Am lying on bed and hoping it will pass. I will have to miss my German lesson.
