Afternoon all! Once again I find myself trying to avoid the massive pile of marking in front of me so I thought I'd check in while I'm on my computer. It's far easier to use for posting lengthy posts :) I hope everyone's well and enjoying a good weekend!

I had an interesting night last night...I actually managed not to drink too much (wooo!) and I think I got asked out?! Possibly...I don't know! I walked into my local and the guy from behind the bar (who I've never met) came over and said that the guy in the corner had told him to ask me to leave (it was all a joke - the guy in the corner was a mate!). So I carried on as normal with the night, and was chatting away to the guy behind the bar, along with everyone else I knew.

When he finished his shift he came round the other side of the bar for a drink and we were chatting (as you do) and he asked if I'd like to go for a drink in the week. Now I'm so used to never being asked out anywhere that I just automatically said I don't drink in the week because of all the marking I have to do, so I think he took that as a rejection :( He seemed ok afterwards, and I tried to explain, but I think I probably wrecked my chances there. It's a shame as he seemed like a really nice guy...one of those guys you talk to and you think I really could like you a lot. He walked me back to my house and I said it had been lovely to meet him, and hopefully see him him next weekend, but I still think maybe I've blown things.

Or he may not have meant it to be anything like a date at all...I don't know? Anyone got any thoughts? From the way he was talking to me, I got the feeling he was interested in me, and you know how you just get a feeling that someone's flirting? But then I'm crap at all this sort of stuff (low self-esteem definitely!)!

Anyway, I suppose all I can do is wait to see if he's out and about next weekend :)

Sounds promising!

Trouble is I'm naff with these things too - been with hubs nearly 10 years now and that was from a young age so I've never really 'dated' at all?

I guess if you see him next weekend and he still seems keen then I would read it as he definitely is having chased you twice? If you see him again and he doesn't then maybe he was only after 1 thing and you're better of having not gone there?

Maybe neither of those things and I'm just rubbish? Lol x

Lol!!

I'm inclined to think he wasn't after one thing, as he made no suggestion of anything like that at any point in the pub, or on the way home, and when someone tried to find out what colour underwear I was wearing by pulling on my top he was actually outraged on my behalf. I dunno, it's all new territory to me!

I guess I'll just have to wait and see...que sera sera and all that jazz! :) xx

I think he only works there at the weekend, and it must usually be a Friday because I haven't seen him when I've been home on previous weekends! Xx

Oh that's a bit of a bummer :( make sure you're around on Friday ;) what does he look like?? X

Haha! Something like that! ;)

I'm feeling a bit sad tonight...I've managed to talk myself out of being a bridesmaid for my brother and future sister-in-law in August as I just feel too fat to be a bridesmaid :( and I didn't want to give her my measurements for the dress. The thought of walking up an aisle with people watching me practically makes me want to throw up, especially as both she and my brother are like twigs!

I hate being fat...I guess it ought to give me the kick up the backside to shift some weight :(

Ah Hun :(

You should consider it a compliment that they asked you - they clearly don't think that you're too fat to be a bridesmaid otherwise they wouldn't have asked you.

Are you close enough to have a word and tell them that you would like to but only if you can get down to a certain dress size? That way you can use it as motivation, but if you don't get there or still don't feel up to it then you can decline but they'll have had some warning?

If its any consolation, nobody really looks at the bridesmaids :p

Seriously though chic you shouldn't let your size stop you. We all come in all sorts of shapes and sizes xxx

Re: Sian's restart diary - third time lucky! :-D

Thanks for your kind words :) I'm feeling a little less sad about it today as I've decided it's going to be the last time I let my size stop me doing something. She wanted to buy the dresses now, otherwise I probably would have said yes.

It's just time to stop messing around with the diet now...my losses have been rubbish since I restarted so I think I need a bit of an overhaul.

Maybe I need to set myself some sort of challenge!

Anybody got any suggestions for a possible challenge? Perhaps something we could all get involved with!

Xx

Re: Sian's restart diary - third time lucky! :-D

I haven't really noticed a challenge that isn't about weight loss. I think I need to challenge myself to do something different as I'm getting a bit bored of the plan to be honest. Perhaps I might challenge myself to try at least one new dish a week.

I was also contemplating giving up biscuits and cake for Lent...they're definitely my downfall. Do cereal bars count in that though?

Xx

Hey Sian! If you're getting bored of the plan then defo challenge yourself to have at least one different meal a week. Flick through the mag or the recipes on here and get cracking! Or what about the 777 thing that gets bought up every now and then on here?
Hmmm, lemme have a think and see if I can come with any more :)
Hope you've had a good day! Xx

Oh Hun sorry to hear you've been feeling down !!

Can't believe you talked yourself out off being bridesmaid if anything it should help spur you on the thought off wearing a lovely dress and give you something to aim for !!
I think sw is fab but sometimes it to easy to get complacent and always have the same meals and never try anything new and that's the one downside !!
There's tonnes off recipes it just required planning to get all the ingredients in!!
Maybe try a new recipe a week maybe on a Saturday before your night out ???
And how's about a mini challenge you have a few regular posters on your diary now maybe we all do one together on here no pressure maybe something like to loose every week until Easter and have a malteser bunny as a treat it a mini goal or something want to loose x amount off lbs by Easter ???

Even though the dress she chose is lovely, it's really aimed at someone tall and slim...I'm neither of those unfortunately! :)

I think I might start a challenge after I weigh on Friday morning...something like lose 10lb by 27th April, which is the day of my graduation. By my calculations I think I have ten weigh ins after Friday before that date, so an average of a pound a week.

I've also decided to give up biscuits and cakes for Lent (not cereal bars though...I've decided they don't count!!) :) and to try to make at least one new meal a week. Phew, it'll keep me busy keeping up with all those, lol! Xx
