Sian's 2015 restart - time to shift the weight once and for all!

I made Ginlin's recipe for paella...here it is! It's absolutely divine :)

Chicken and Chorizo Paella

Serves 2 - 4.5 syns per serving on Extra Easy

2 Chicken Breasts Diced
100g Chorizo Diced
2 Onions Diced
2 Cloves of Garlic Crushed
Red and Yellow Pepper Deseeded and Chopped
200g Paella Rice
720ml Chicken Stock
Pinch of saffron
Handful of frozen peas
Salt and Black Pepper
Frylight

In a paella pan or large based frypan, saute the chicken, chorizo, onion and crushed garlic in frylight until lightly browned. Add the peppers and saffron, and fry lightly, Add the rice, and stir around until any liquid is absorbed, and the rice is coated in the juices. Add the stock, season with salt and black peper to taste, stir around well, and bring to the boil, then sprinkle a handful of peas on top. Simmer gently for about 20 minutes, until the stock has evaporated, and resist the temptation to stir, or it will end up like pudding!

Savoury rice with added leek, broccoli and cauliflower
Peking lemon chicken - 2 syns

Supper:

Chicken, chorizo and prawn paella
Apple

Snacks:

Coffees - HexA
2 alpen light - 6 syns




Syns for today: 8

Total syns: 89.5

No problem hun...it really is lush. I think we should all spread the paella word :) I'm actually having quite a good week for me...although it doesn't seem to be showing up on the scales. I'm weighing about 2lb heavier than last Friday :eek: I hope that disappears by Friday morning! Maybe I just eat too much...I don't know! :sigh: Hows your week been hun? xx

I can't wait to try it! I will report back at the weekend :) my weeks been ok I guess, just hoping I don't screw it all up at the weekend and am going to get a loss next week!

By the sounds of your food diary I wouldn't say you ate too much! And if it's free/superfree then it doesn't matter how much you eat as long as you stop when full (although how many of us do that really?!). Don't worry about the scales until Friday Hun xx

I've thought about it, but I don't think I could hack all the counting involved with other plans. I find it hard to fit this one in around my school work sometimes. Never mind, I'm sure it'll disappear again eventually. I just get fed up when I try really hard and I don't see any reward on the scales :(:(:(:( xx
 
Morning all!! :) All has become clear this morning regarding the gain...it's my TOTM. Seeing as I can never really predict my cycle it's always a bit of a surprise. At least I don't feel quite so bad about it now :)

Sorry about the gain Hun you have had a good week food wise have you been drinking enough ?? Could it be water retention or star week ???

Yesterday's food was as follows:

Lunch:

Orzo with bacon, courgettes, garlic and mushrooms (my new dish for the week...it was so yummy I made it for Thursday and Friday, haha!)
Apple

Supper:

Chicken and mushroom omelette (HexA)
2 x wholemeal bread and butter - (HexB + 2 syns)
Baked beans

Snacks and drinks:

Alcohol - 7.5 syns (I was at a birthday party, so I was very impressed at my restraint! Although I'm going out tonight to a charity gig, so it's just as well really! :))




Today's syns: 9.5

Total syns: 9.5

Syns remaining: 95.5/105
 
Saturday 2nd March (EE)

Today's food is as follows:

Breakfast:

Banana
Grapes

Lunch:

Vegetable soup
3 x wholemeal bread (HexB + 3 syns)
EL spread - 2 syns
RF cheddar (HexA)

Supper:

2 x small pork loin chops
SW wedges
Green beans
Ketchup - 0.5 syns

Snacks and drinks:

Alcohol - 37.5 syns (oops!)
Scrambled egg on toast - 12.5 syns



Today's syns: 55.5

Total syns: 65

Morning hun! It was a fantastic night...the best night out I've had for ages! The head's ok surprisingly considering quite a lot of alcohol was consumed! :eek:

I also decided to have scrambled egg on toast when I got in...not the least synful thing when you've already eaten your hexB! Better update my syns! Xx

Vegetable soup with turkey
