Sian's 2015 restart - time to shift the weight once and for all!

Re: Sian's restart diary - third time lucky! :-D

Hey Sian, sorry to hear about your dad hun. But in a more positive note - now they know what the problem is they can work with it and treat him in the right way.
Keep your chin up sweetie (and well done on the pound off last week!) Xx

Re: Sian's restart diary - third time lucky! :-D

Evening ladies!

Sorry I haven't been on here much, and sorry for the lack of posts regarding my food. I can't say I've been particularly good, but my food also hasn't been awful...considering I just feel like eating crap I don't think I've been too bad.

I'm feeling quite down tonight...we've had no more news about anything, but I just feel all weepy and mopey. I'm ok as long as I keep busy, but because I'm not really sleeping I'm too tired to keep busy :(:(

Awww hunnie sorry your feeling so down but you need to keep your strength up and get some rest. ((big hugs)) Thinking of you all xx

Aw, poor thing. I'm not suprised you're feeling weepy, I can't imagine how hard it must be for you at this time. I think the uncertainty is the worst in a way. Well done for not going completely off track with your food though. Make sure you look after yourself & get some rest. I hope there's some positive news soon hun xx

Hiya ladies.

Sorry I haven't been posting...this week has been really busy in school. Quick update on the situation with my dad...he's finally had his MRI scan, but he hasn't had the results yet. There's a lot of ifs and buts in any conversation the doctors seem to be having with my dad. They've now turned round and said that it looks like he has a couple of nodes in his lungs, as well as the lesion on his brain :( I think they're supposed to be sending the scans on to Cardiff for the experts to have a look at to decide what treatment, if any, is available, and where he'll need to go for the treatment. He's being allowed to go home for the weekend, but then he'll be back in hospital from Sunday evening or Monday so that they can explain what the findings of the MRI are.

To me it sounds like they're kind of giving up on him :(

Hi hunnie - no need to apologise. You have your hands full.

How old is your dad if you dont mind me asking? I hope that that isnt the case hun and that they are deciding the best options for treatment for him. Dont be scared to ask questions on his behalf if you have to. xx

My dad's 63, so he's still relatively young by today's standards. I think once they give him the results of the MRI my mum will be asking a lot more questions and asking to speak to the doctor. They're just speculating mostly at the moment until the specialist has looked at the scans. Let's hope they get their backsides in gear and do that soon! We just want to know what it is...if it's lung cancer and a brain tumour then we'd rather just know. I think my dad's quite keen to get home for the weekend so he can get some of his money affairs in order...it doesn't sound like he's feeling particularly positive, but then I can't say I blame him :( xx

Awwww bless him - I think older people/generation tend to do that "just in case" I know my dad did. He was 80 when he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. He sorted everything once he had his diagnosis so there was literally nothing for me and sis to do. Hopefully speculation is all it is and they get their act together.

Its the waiting around and not knowing thats the annoying part. I asked loads of Q when dad was dignosed but I dont know if thats just because of my job and the limited amount of medical knowledge I have. I hope by Monday you all have some answers hun. Keep your chin up, were here if you need us x

I sincerely hope all goes well for your father. He most definitely is not an "older person " by todays standards.

Remind me I said this Sian but whatever the prognosis is to days drugs and treatments are so good compared with even my first brush with cancer 10 years ago.

Everything crossed for him and for you xxxxx

Oh Hun sorry to hear about your dad I really hope you get a diagnosis soon the not knowing is must Definately the worst part as once you know you can try to process & digest it all !!!
Are you far from your parents ??
Could you take some time off work if there not close by ??
If you need anything you know where I am xx

Re: Sian's restart diary - third time lucky! :-D
