Your food is looking really good. I am going to try the soup recipe........thanks for that .....hugs xxxxx

:bighug:Council sound rubbish and 6.7% is a bit of a hike. I assume the council meant for you to tip a bucket of water down the loo to flush if it wasn't working at all. I think the pump action flush is the way to go. :D Enjoy your cards night, and make use of the facilities while you're there. :D
I am fuming about the hike, it's the second year running they have increased our rents by over 6%, if they continue at that rate we'll only be able to afford rent, so I guess I'll be forced to lose weight at a quicker rate lol (silver lining to everything I guess lol) Don't have a clue what they intended us to do but thankfully Mal managed to get it working, we did have to really pump it to get it to flush, till they came out yesterday afternoon (disgraceful we had to wait 3 days!!!), went to loo after they fixed it and nearly jumped out of my skin when I did, it was so powerful I swear if I had been sitting on the loo it would have sucked me down :giggle:
I did enjoy my night of cards lol, loo had been fixed by then thankfully, even won a game, first time in a while and came home £1 richer than I went there lol...we put £1 each in the pot and we usually play 3 games, so if you win all games you come home £9 richer...it all adds up, I put them in my savings pot lol xxx:bighug:xxx

Hope all in the household have recovered. :D

Kirsty and Harry both recovered fully thankfully, Mark went down with it last night and I was feeling fine till about half an hour ago and now I feel sick as a dog, I guess it's my turn.
Got stomach cramps too, won't harm the weight loss I guess lol xxx

It was weigh in tonight, had a very eventful and telling couple of days ...made a few discoveries quite by accident and they have answered a lot of questions for me ...going to have a word with my Doctor when I see her about my Psoriasis, in June.

Long story short, I started seeing her in September of 2011...I started SW in October 2010, from October 2010 until November of 2011 I lost close on 6st in weight ....as I said I started to see my specialist in September, I was having PUVA treatment at first, but after about 6 weeks instead of my Psoriasis improving it was gradually getting worse, so doctor took me off that treatment and put me on Acitretin 75mg a day in December of 2011, I have since that day lost and gained the same 8lbs ...as I said I made a discovery yesterday that made me think about the medication and I then went and looked more closely at the side effects, I know about the sore mouth, nose, lips, tongue, nose bleeds, hair loss, abnormal lab results, glucose intolerance and high cholestrol that the tablets have as a side effect,I have all of those and some more, but after what I discovered yesterday it made me think even more and I then looked back on my records of when I have had to increase my dose from the average 35mg a day that I take and the 75mg a day that I take when it gets out of control and the side effects I found today were for just 10mg, I noticed that every time I have gained weight when this happened, I have also been keeping a note of when I was increasing my tablets and all of these coincide with 2 of the side effects that I get when I increase my tablets....the first is thrush, every time I increase my tablets I get a bad case of thrush and it then disappears when I go back to my normal dose, the other thing I noticed was that I have severe oedema and that is all over my body not just my ankles, toes hands etc, I was sitting yesterday and leaned on my knees for a few minutes, when I got up there were massive indentations in my knees that stayed there until this morning, so I tried a few other places and the same thing happened. Now when I checked the dates I had to increase my tablets, I gained every single week and then when I checked the dates I took my tablets back to the normal dose, I had substantial losses, on checking the side effects for the tablets 1 in 100 people suffer from oedema and also thrush.
I really feel this is hampering my weight loss, I will not talk to my GP about this as acitretin are only prescribed at and can be picked up from the hospital so I doubt my GP would have much knowledge of them, plus they react badly with a lot of medications, so when I see my specialist in June I am going to ask her about maybe water tablets or something to deal with the oedema as I am certain it's not helping.
Having said all that, I am bloated and was expecting a gain tonight and actually lost half a lb, I am happy with that as I had to increase my tablets last Thursday when my hands and feet really flared up, I am hoping to drop them again by Friday so fingers crossed it will mean a goodish loss next week.
It may all be a coincidence but it just seems to funny that it all ties in from when I started these tablets, I had lost over 6 st before joining SW and continued to do so until they came along, but I am not going to let them beat me I will keep trying and looking for the answers whatever happens xxx

Side effects of acitretin - Psoriasis - NHS Choices this is the page with the side effects of acitretin and I have 24 of the 39 possible side effects ...great eh? lol

I'll be back later with my food diary, hope you're all well ttfn xxx

Well done on the loss hun. Deffo sounds like you need to get the tablets changed - more than half ofthe sife effects is too many to have to deal with. :bighug:
Unfortunately hun, I can't change the tablets, the only ones left that I haven't had are the ones that they use on heart transplant patients and being as I am still way to heavy they would be worse than the ones I am on and my specialist won't even consider them, it took 3 consultants to decide to let me go on these ones again because of my weight, the side effects are worse again because of my weight, the tablets effect and dose are all weight related, if I was a nice 11st, which is ideal weight for my height and build I would be on 10mg a day, but being as I am close to double that weight give or take a stone or 2 lol, I am having to take a higher dose and suffer all the side effects I might not get if I was on the lowest dose ....and I can't not take these either (I tried stopping them), as now my body goes into melt down if I miss even a day or so and breaks out super fast and with avengeance...so I am in a catch 22 position...having said all of that, it is still better than I was (my skin that is) before I started on these tablets...the problem is I need to lose the weight to go on a lower dose and the oedema is playing havoc with that, so I need to talk to my specialist and see what I can do, hopefully take water tablets (my GP told me last year as my water retention isn't a permanent thing they are loathe to put me on water pills, so I bought herbal ones and they were less than useless) and start losing again, the thing is I am losing weight, if you look at my weight losses they have been great, but the water gains are counteracting them aaarrrggghhh lol...I'm sure it will all come out in the wash eventually, the good thing and the thing that keeps me going is that I am still close to 12st lighter than I was and I really thought this week was going to be a major gain, I feel so bloated, so to come home with a half pound loss is hopefully a turning point :fingerscrossed:
As for the side effects many of those relate to the mouth, nose tongue, lips, skin sores, which I am slowly but surely getting used to and a lot of the others are the ones that I and all the others on these tablets would get anyway and they are the ones where they push up your blood sugars and cholesterol levels and of course the hair loss, none of which I can do anything about and everyone else has the same problems...the 2 that I find hardest to deal with are the water retention and of course the constant thrush, Canestan must love me, I reckon I'm one of their best customers lol :giggle:
I hope you are keeping well my lovely xxx:hug99:xxx
