Sophie's Slimming World and Cinema critiques!

-1lb since thurs despite the nasty cold and boozefest on fri- wahey! I seem to have found a way to balance getting drunk into my diet and still lose- just have lots of superfree soup to detox!
I am now 1st 1lb away from normal BMI! Hopefully reintroducing gluten free carbs on green/EE doesnt push me back the wrong way now :p

Feeling good about a new challenge and a loss despite the odds! But am totally run down il today, my asthma is really playing up with the bug, feels a constant strain to breathe :(
 
Went for unlimited sushi and was sooo hungry that I stuffed myself until I felt a bit sick :rolleyes: oops!
So gluten free didnt exactly happen as I had some noodles, but basicay wanted to weigh in before I started so I wouldnt potentially botch WI with carbs :p
Bought some meat today in 3 for £10 deal that needs using up in the next few days as we have no freezer now, so not sure when I will get around to that green day... Nervous too :rolleyes: today was EE though, wont be having dinner after that huge lunch... but might have a 35g bowl of rice puffs later if I fancy something sweet.

Hope you feel better soon too. Sounds really rough :( My asthma's been playing up this last week too. How odd?!xx
 
Woweee, I saw your pics come up on my diary too and just, well, that's crazy. You look SO much younger and happier, you can see how much more confident you are and you look awesome in the red, it really suits your hair! You must be thrilled when you see them side by side like that?!

Sorry to hear about your asthma, do you think it's the colder weather starting to appear?

Jodie/Cheeky- my asthma always flares up when I'm ill... Used to have a lot of time off school because a basic common cold would have be unable to breathe... Climbing stairs leaves me breathless for ages when I'm asthmatic like this and my school used to have like 4 flights of stairs to go up and down 15 times a day! The teachers used to think my mum was being too gentle on me and letting me off sick with a slight sniffle, but the asthma makes colds SO much worse!
Interesting that yours has flared up too, Cheeky- maybe it is the storm kicking up dust and playing on our lungs? lol... Not sure if there's much logic in that :D

Yesterday I got to the same stressed out place I was in two weeks ago about the edit as time restraints are SO rushed (like the other was!) and I literally spent 5 hours editing and had NOTHING on the timeline by the end of it- so much waiting around for the footage to render because I was using dodgy footage from my go pro... literally 5 hours of trial and error and error and error... Got so panicked! But then I said "F*ck it, let's go to bed and I'm going to approach it totally different tomorrow, am focusing too much on details when the details will be COMPLETELY changed later anyway." and just as I got into bed at 11pm and was waiting for G to finish brushing his teeth I suddenly thought "I'm just going to blitz ten minutes of rough cut editing [instead of detail editing] so there is SOMETHING on the timeline, to make myself feel better about it in the morning" so I got to it- and suddenly I got into it!!
G came upstairs and he played on his DS next to me and I continued for an hour and a bit and got SO much more done- completely relieved me! Phew.

I think this is a good thing for me to keep in mind about general life stuff- step back and re-asses the way I am handling things as too often I get stressed about the unnecessary attitude I have towards a situation. I love editing the details and making it all pretty but it's so pointless to start that way as the first cut is always about 3 or 4 times longer than it should be- think about all of the details I waste time on that end up being cut out? Silly! :D

This morning I got straight to editing as soon as I'd had breakfast :D feel good about that! And have gotten a fair amount done. I'm going to try and BLITZ it today, no details, just try and get a simple rough cut down... Can probably do it in 8hrs or so so am going to aim for that- then I can have my halloween fun without stressing/feeling guilty.

P.s. Gluten free went to sh*ts yesterday because A) I had noodles at the Japanese place and B) I had bloomin' wheat puffs cereal for tea thinking they were rice puffs LOL *fail*
I've decided I'm not going to go THAT gluten free as the HexB options are limiting, and the HexB's are what keep me on plan! I think I'll cut out wholemeal bread but allow myself cereal/bars, just less often. I guess the whole excitement of 'gluten free' was just the idea of having Green days again but without pasta :p hehe
 
I think the weather does affect things like asthma. It's so cold and damp at the moment, it's bound to have an effect! I know warm, moist air can actually help asthma, but the cold definitely doesn't. My allergies have been bad lately too coz ALL the animals are moulting, so that's definitely not helping mine lol.
I was off a lot from school when I was ill too, with having asthma and a heart condition I was a bit screwed. No one messed with my Mum tho LOL!

That's amazing about the editing and glad you've gotten in to it and found a way to work it all out. Good luck with tomorrow's 8hr slog! Bet it'll pass pretty quickly once you get in to it :)

I think maybe limiting certain carbs may work for you. But don't cut anything out completely if you're going to miss it or find it really difficult to stay on plan. Do what will work best for you :) xx

You're right- forgot about damp etc affecting asthma! Also having a second kitty int he house might be affecting it... Though it has only been flaring up since my sniffles bloomed into a proper cold.

Gluten free fail AGAIN today :rolleyes: did fine until I had serious cereal cravings this evening *sigh* I'm not sure if this'll work... I love my HexB's too much!!

I had a green day today though which was nice! Potato pancake for lunch (with carrot and onion for SF) and an uncle bens mexican rice for dinner. I fried up some onion, pepper and asparagus then put the rice into the pan- the veg got a bit burnt though and I'd covered them in soy sauce which burnt, so the flavour was all a bit strong :/ I ended up dishing some quark over it like sour cream, then thought "hey, this is like a burrito..." so got a tin of chopped tomatoes out to be like salsa, and shred some iceburg lettuce. Was really nice actually :D LOL! Quark... who'da thought...

Sugar cravings like mad today.. had a pepsi max and think the aspartame just set me off for the day. Had a curly wurly (6), golden syrup (1) on wheat puffs with milk and a muller light. Also snacked on some grapes. Around 10 syns today as uncle bens pouch has 2.5 or 3... also added half a tin of mixed beans to dinner, always feel good when I eat beans as I used to hate them and think of them as a big healthy thing now lol!

Got maybe 4hrs of editing done today but wasn't very focused and slacked quite a bit :( Have done about a third of the rough cut now. Am free all day tomorrow but thurs and fri late afternoon/eve am busy so want to get as much done tomorrow as possible. Also, NaNoWriMo starts on Nov 1st so I REALLY want to have some time to work on that too!
 
Fellow asthma sister here!! Autumn is the worst season for me and my breathing and has been ever since I was a little kid. What sets me off big time is the fungi that grown in lawns and on trees this time of year, and acorns. I suspect it's something to do with spores that they release into the air. Mine isn't too bad at the moment but I am having to use my inhalers to control it which I never usually do.

Our flat has had all sorts of damp issues in the past, when I first moved in I slept a night in the spare room and had an AWFUL asthma attack and had no inhalers- was up all night :(
We fixed the leaks, it was all coming from a gutter issue on the balcony, but no doubt there is more we just cant see.
Right, time to get up and focused... I want to finish the rough cut edit today so I can just rework details before Mon and enjoy the festivities ahead!
Am a bit scared of all the carbs (namely the sushi place pig out) so going to have a cleansing red & soup day today before tomorrows official WI :rolleyes: x
 
Aye fungus and spores are an absolute nightmare! And dust too. We're just a bit screwed I reckon lol!

Good luck with the rest of the rough cut. Would be good to get it out of the way so you can relax and enjoy the stuff coming up.

Green day was OK but Potato pancake was ruined by stale veg (potatoes had been in my cupboard since july LOL) and so it taste unfresh :( and I burnt the dinner so... Could have been better but it was nice to have comforting filling carbs, yes!
My sugar cravings are really bad at the moment... Yesterday was muxh worse but today I've had a real sweet tooth too. Pretty sure yesterday was from the pepsi max! Damn aspartame...
Cant face cutting out my cereal allowance right now for gluten free, it is my sweet fix!
 
Aww man, there's nothing better than carby goodness, especially on a dark and rainy October night! I've just finished a plate of yummy cheese and brocolli Pasta N' Sauce and feeling a sleepy carby haze at the minute - bliss!

Once again I'm super jealous at your sushi fix, so much so that I'm going to find a sushi place up here to try on pay day.

Hope your asthma gets a bit better soon. Chris has asthma too and it's horrible to see him suffering with it sometimes. When we lived in a new apartment before it was fine but since moving to an older house he's had it a lot worse. Thankfully it's manageable with his preventer and inhaler but when we buy it'll definitely be a new place. I think this house has some damp issues in the cellar which isn't helping things.

I'm with you on the sweet craving!! I'm not sure if its the microgynon playing tricks but I just want all the chocolate in the world right now!!

Probably doesn't help that the fella has left half a bar of Cadbury Oreo in the fridge.. I'm being good though - I don't wanna get dumped for eating his food haha!

OMG! Cadbury Oreo is SO GOOD. But so stingy syns wise!
I have given my boyfriend strict rules about chocolate in the fridge- it must be hidden in the draw I don't use! He has a whole cupboard of naughties that's out of the way too, I couldn't face seeing that stuff just around, it would kill me! :p Go you for being good... even if the motivation is not being dumped LOL

Sushi is fab but I love all the other stuff at the japanese too! The dumplings, udon noodles, miso soup, sticky rice with teriyaki sauce... mmm... Carbilicious! Our fave thing there at the mo is this Pumpkin Koroke which is lightly battered and fried pumpkin- sooo yummy.

Yeah, I think the building really makes a difference for Asthma... Whenever I go on work trips away I'm fine and don't notice until I get back and can hardly breath! I'm a bit of an odd one though as my asthma is set off by random smells like the smell of coffee, cigarettes and sometimes even chocolate if G has just eaten some and comes to kiss me! Weird!

I agree that cereal is a good sweet fix! Haven't had my Weetabix snacks for a while, but the cravings will kick in as it gets colder ;) But I'm loving cereal bars again. Odd how we go thru phases isn't it? Cereal is gooood tho!!!

Oh man that Oreo Cadbury's is amazing! And so light and you can definitely eat the whole thing .... which is why I don't buy it lol!
I wish my Mum and Sister would hide their stuff a bit more, like G does. My Mum even comes in with sweets and biscuits and offers me them, thinking she's being polite. Doesn't matter how many times I explain it's absolute torture :rolleyes: Have learned to develop quite decent will power and the magical power of making naughty things invisible LOL! It is really hard work though and I think G keeping stuff hidden is far easier. Good boy :D

I could have demolished an oreo cadbury bar today, what is with my sweet cravings?! Didnt actually have my hexB today or half of hexA though :eek:

WI was a +1 *sigh* which balances out the -1 on Mon to be a STS for the week. Had all that sushi and hadnt pooped though :rolleyes: hopefully that and not the new carb intake...
Felt a bit let down about that but had a productive day! Did sime tidying, cooked us two meals (hadnt cooked for G in like a week!), decorated the house with new fairy lights (looks so nice, I love it!) and got my WHOLE rough cut done for the edit!! OMG. Psyched!
So tomorrow I can scrub it up a but and maybe send it to the client tomorrow so she can get looking for the music for it and have notes ready for changes she wants when we meet on Monday. Also means I can spen a couple of hours working on my NaNoWriMo whixh starts tomorrow!! 50k word novel challenge in a month.

G said that I have been really lovely today- haha! He never says that as normally I'm a b*ch LOL. I think he was biased as he got two cooked meals and lucky also :p
Chewie has been so cute today- slepr on both of our laps! Hasnt done that since he was sick... He and Lil' Juan have been so fun to watch playing today!

We watched the steven king film 1408 today- used to love it when younger but nearly sh*t myself this time despite having seen it like 5 times! I'm such a wimp these days!

Friends coming over for half arsed halloween fun tomorrow so will get to re-wear my devil outfit and probably will drink a fair bit of wine!
 
My Mum still offers me jelly sweets. I've been veggie for 15+ years now! Even when I ate fishies and birdies I wouldn't touch gelatin or any red meat by-products. She is just being nice and most of the time it makes me laugh. But you know when you're being REALLY good and it seems everything and everyone is out to get you to eat junk?! :p

Ah mat if you've not pooped that'll be where the +1 has come from. Don't stress :)

Hope the half-arsed Halloween party goes well. Ours was really nice. But we just had food and watched a film. Nothing adventurous :p There are some decorations up tho :D xx
 
Our half arsed halloween party was the same as yours Cheeky- couple of (very lame) horror films, pizza and drinks! Loooads of syns, woops!
Two friend bailed so was just 4 of us, was chilled and nice though. Put up some cob webs, made a jack'o lantern (am going to make pumpkin soup with the innards tomorrow!) and drank wine and home made mulled wine... Had 2 glasses of wine and to big glasses of mulled. There was 25ml of mulled wine syrup in each glass (about 1.5tbspn, nothing syrupy is more than 3 syns a tablespploon so will call it that extra) = 35~ syns on booze + two slices of spicy pizza hut stuffed crust = 55 total ish methinks. Had 3 small eyeball chocolates too so will call it 60. So that is 4 days if syns- yikes!
Food wise though had an activia and a kiwi for breakfast and a bacon, feta and egg salad for lunch, which I think was fairly good. Soup detox tomorrow!
