Total Solution South Pacific

Thanks Lynne - I can't quite believe it myself. The first time round I think I lost 12lbs the first month, so I'm amazed. I am really trying to be more active though, so that obviously helps :)

I know it won't continue at this rate - and that's when keeping the motivation is tougher

......but, my head is certainly in the right place to give it my very best shot :D

I WILL be slimmer walking up the gangway onto the beautiful Ruby Princess in May :D

You WILL and not just a little bit slimmer!

Excellent loss this week and 20lb in 3 weeks is fantastic :)

Thank you MM :)

Can't quite believe it!

Or how easy it's been once over the big hurdle of the first few days! :D

.....that was tough, no doubt at all - but since then, apart from the odd moment in the evening, 'normal' food hasn't entered my head

Looks a nice ship. Is it quite new? How long is the cruise and where will you be docking?

Excellent result Darcy, well done!! Ship looks grand. How much better are you going to feel walking onto that ship. You will be able to get quite a lot more off by then xx

Hi Lynne

I think the Ruby is about 8 years old - I've been on her sister, the Emerald. Beautiful ships, and mid sized - none of those giant 5000 passenger jobs for me!!

Sailing from Southampton to Guernsey, Cobh, Dublin, Belfast, Greenock, Orkney, Invergordon, Queensferry and Le Havre. 12 days in total.

I wanted something for complete relaxation so chose this itinerary to avoid flying and any hassle. I use a car service, so get picked up at my door. Pleasant ride to Southampton - only about 90 minutes - walk onto the ship and away we go!

I like flying, but after a very long haul last year to Beijing I wanted something different this time. May not even get off the ship in some places - I'm really going to just go with the flow :)

I feel very privileged to have travelled far and wide - but it is my only 'vice' apart from food :D

.....I'm also single, and now my Dad is gone not responsible for anyone else. This will be my first cruise where I really will be free as a bird and not concerned about what is going on back at home! I really hope to just rest, relax and recharge my batteries.

The crew on Princess are just so fabulous - they work so incredibly hard and yet are always smiling. The service is first rate, without being all in your face - can't bear that myself. I'm actually very shy, and really need 'alone time' - thought that might be difficult on a cruise, but it really isn't :)

....ooh, I sound like a travel agent so I'd better stop!!

One last thing though is I really need a strategy for dealing with the beautiful food - and 24/7 availability

.......taking Exante isn't going to be practical, so I'm thinking along the lines of one meal a day - high protein, low carb.

Thanks Susie :)

Would so love to make my 50lb total by then - and while not exactly making me slim will be quite a significant change :D

Just did 1.5 kilometres on my bike - not too shabby for my first attempt :)

Will give it another go later - when my legs stop trembling

Blimey Darcy, you're well in the groove! I'm terribly lazy at weekends, I really need to get moving soon. I'm just about to hoover my lounge so that I don't get covered in cat and dog hair when I do the shred. The plan is to watch it tonight and then get up early in the morning and do it! I'll have to walk on the treadmill while I'm watching it or I won't have many steps done for today.
Your cruise sounds lovely. Just the thing for a nice relaxing holiday! I haven't been on once since I went on a cruise with school when I was 13. I remember everyone being violently sick in the Bay of Biscay! Do they have lots of entertainment on board? I know that some of the ships have swimming pools!

Ha ha, wobbly legs show you've been working them hard. Well done!
Cruise sounds lovely. I'm the same with needing some alone time. Good for reflecting on where life is taking you & no-one to answer to as well.
My friends daughter used to work on the cruise ships. She loved it but said how long the day was for staff.
50lb is achievable Darcy but the main thing is that it gradually comes off. Will you have to buy a new wardrobe or are you like me & have clothes of all sizes accumulated over the years x

Well done on the bike Darcy - and wow that cruise ship looks amazing - what a great treat - absolutely deserved after doing so well in Exante til then - everytime you are tempted just think of yourself walking up the steps of that cruise ship looking absolutely amazing in your new slim bod - the cruise will be fab to have to look forward to x

Plenty of swimming pools!

....and lots of entertainment too - movies, production shows, interesting lectures about ports of call and ship operations, napkin folding, fruit carving, trivia contests, Zumba...........:D

Hey Darcy, first of all congrats on the great loss!! You are totally in the zone and then cycling away like a maniac too :D well done you. Give me some of that motivation please. You'll have such a fab time on your cruise and you'll be a lot slimmer by then.

I have clothes from size 10 upwards - so shouldn't need anything much new!

Its so true the long hours the crew work - got chatting to my cabin steward one time, and they work an 11 hour day EVERY day for a 9 month contract, with a few hours off in the afternoons. Mind boggling
