Looks a nice ship. Is it quite new? How long is the cruise and where will you be docking?
Hi Lynne
I think the Ruby is about 8 years old - I've been on her sister, the Emerald. Beautiful ships, and mid sized - none of those giant 5000 passenger jobs for me!!
Sailing from Southampton to Guernsey, Cobh, Dublin, Belfast, Greenock, Orkney, Invergordon, Queensferry and Le Havre. 12 days in total.
I wanted something for complete relaxation so chose this itinerary to avoid flying and any hassle. I use a car service, so get picked up at my door. Pleasant ride to Southampton - only about 90 minutes - walk onto the ship and away we go!
I like flying, but after a very long haul last year to Beijing I wanted something different this time. May not even get off the ship in some places - I'm really going to just go with the flow
I feel very privileged to have travelled far and wide - but it is my only 'vice' apart from food
.....I'm also single, and now my Dad is gone not responsible for anyone else. This will be my first cruise where I really will be free as a bird and not concerned about what is going on back at home!
I really hope to just rest, relax and recharge my batteries.
The crew on Princess are just so fabulous - they work so incredibly hard and yet are always smiling. The service is first rate, without being all in your face - can't bear that myself. I'm actually very shy, and really need 'alone time' - thought that might be difficult on a cruise, but it really isn't
....ooh, I sound like a travel agent so I'd better stop!!
One last thing though is I really need a strategy for dealing with the beautiful food - and 24/7 availability
.......taking Exante isn't going to be practical, so I'm thinking along the lines of one meal a day - high protein, low carb.
