OOO, this thread is FAB, thank you ladies! I've been wanting to do a SE week for ages (and quite often have a SE meal for lunch anyway) but was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO confused about Syns & HEs, (having only ever don EE, red and green are a bit of a mystery to me!) but I think I've got it now, so I'm going to give that a go for the next 3 days (I weigh in on a Monday) and hopefully that'll get me off this ridiculous up and down I've been doing for the past 4 weeks. It's not that I don't understand why it's happened, I definitely haven't been following the plan enough on weeks when I put on (only ever 1 or 2lbs, and then I'll lose them the following week, but still, I'm not actually going down overall anymore!) but this should kick start me mentally as well as weight wise, fingers crossed!

Just remember:

2/3rds of every meal should be superfree.
When snacking take the higher syn value.
You should aim to snack mainly on superfree.
2 HEX B's and then 1 or 2 HEX A's (I'd go for one to boost your losses)

and I think that's basically it! xP

It's just I've snacked on 2 eggs this afternoon and I wondered if I'd technically should be on an Ee day even though I've eaten 2/3rds sf with my bf and lunch.

I'll get back into it soon I hope!

I'm not 100% sure but I'd say it was more likely to be a EE day if your snacking on free foods.
When I was doing it i'd only snack on HEX's and superfree and found I didn't need to use as many syns with the extra HEX B's (I'd use one for say cereal and then another as a snack for a hifi bar or a couple of alpen lights) I try not to snack between meals (unless its fruit) though and allow myself a treat on a night instead. I tend to have larger meals so get rid of the snacking, but its all about personal preference! :)

It's ok, I wasn't intending to do a SE day, it's just I'd had my 2 x heb already and I'm having an Ee meal for tea, I'm at target and the extra heb is ok, just not when I'm trying to lose a little! X

Thanks Sparx, that's very helpful - great to have some simple golden rules to stick to! I'll let you know how I get on; the stories of fabulous losses on this thread have really given me hope, so, if I don't see a good loss this week, I'll be able to stay strong for next week! :)

Are you at the higher end of your target or something? I think that if even some of your meals are SE it'll help because there wouldn't be as many calories going in as there would be if you chose to do the 1/3 SF, if that makes sense.
So far today I've done a SE day unintentionally (apart from having a mullerlight), but I did eat my one and only Easter egg last night so I'm trying to be good today, I've only just got to target so I'm still learning about this whole new experience! :D

No problem, I can only help as far as I understand it myself so good luck with it :), I definitely recommend it though, but only when your really stuck (plateu for example) or need to shift the weight for a special occasion it just shakes your body up a bit by changing your foods/days. Like I've said before I only really did it because I was struggling to get to target my weight kept going up and down so doing this helped me get 2.5lb off in two weeks which is fab when your body refuses to lose anymore :p

I weighed a week yesterday and I'd gained 2 so that put me a pound over target so yes I could gain another 2 and still be in target but I've had an awful week and need to be good to ensure I'm still in target!

Ah right, makes sense, maybe don't have your extra HEX's until weigh in?

Good idea but really I just need to be on plan and stop messing about!

Going to attempt an exercise DVD tonight whilst hubby drinks his wine in an attempt to kick start my brain!
