Surfhunny's Countdown to Florida

Yikes! Looks a lot like prickly heat or when you've touched a nettle. Not nice!

It's exactly like a nettle rash, same deep itch. that's why the gp said it's an allergic reaction, took ages to find out it was heat related. I'm laid on top of my bed with the fan on my legs to try cool them down before I go to bed to try and stop it. It's a pain in the bum but I can live with it.

Got a name of a company that sorts out misted and fogged up windows if you still want it.

Morning Sal --

TGIF!!! Sun is out and shining... the cake I promised to bake for the 7 year old's party is in the oven, and I am ready to get on with day!

Re: rash -- My DH gets something similar from sun exposure. He developed it after we'd live in live Southwest Georgia through a blistery summer (where he was outside all the time cutting the grass and working on restoring his old VW Beatle). The doctor called it "an acquired sun allery!"

I am so tired I'm off to bed now I'll post and catch up tomorrow!!! Shattered!!! Nighty night x

Morning Sal,

I hope you had a good line in. It is too bad it was lovely all week when you were working and a bit gray today. As I need to catch up on chores, I am trying to be "oh well" about the gloomy day!

No lie in for me I'm afraid. I was determined that unless it was raining I was going to get up and 'fix' the garden for the summer. It gets so overgrown in winter. So I've been out there since 9:30 putting it right. My hands are covered in cuts now! I hate gardening and have a pretty low maintenance garden but the first weed cull of the year is always the worst.

I'm going out to holland & barrett in a bit to buy some 5htc. It does wonderful things for your dieting, weightless and moods apparently. I don't know if it's hype but it's worth a try. Right now anything is worth a try!!!

I've got a bit of beck catching up to do too, so I'll do that later when I get back. Once I've done tomorrows that's beck finished. I'm going to have to start all over again I think, and keep going until it's in my brain!!

Hi Sal,

I'm impressed -- I am not willing to go out in the garden without perfect weather.

Please let me know what you think about the 5htc.

I've got my 5-htp, been reading up on it. Apparently it stops you having carb cravings, I hope it works. It also helps with depression, mood swings and insomnia. So I'll take my first ones tonight and see how it goes! Keep you up dated!

How odd, I'm laid in bed and I feel a bit wonky, I can't really describe the feeling, a bit detached like my body isn't my own (ha wish it did belong to someone else). It's a very strange sensation.... This is before I've even taken my 5-htp!!

Very weird, I'm thinking my blood sugar is low but not sure how that's possible on CD, I've had all my packs for the day and 3 litres of water!

I hate this clock altering business!! I've got myself in such a muddle this morning. I didn't know whether my iPhone changes automatically or not and it's the only clock in the house. I ended up having to put the tv on and check the time. But I'm all sorted now I know that it's 10:30 :)

I'm just waiting for my gym towels to dry in the drier then I'm off to the gym, hopefully it'll still be nice and sunny when I get there cos I really fancy swimming in the out door pool. I love swimming outside!!

It's been very quiet on here this weekend, everyone else has lives lol. Shanny is sunning herself somewhere in the Caribbean, Nikki is in the Lakes, and everyone else is off doing the family thing. And me?? My dad and bro are away at my cousins stag weekend, my mum is out with her friend so I'm going to visit my mate "Gym" :)

HI surfhunny - saw you were also Teesside based and simply have to ask which Gym has an outdoor pool? On a day like today I would sooooooooo love that also wanted to say really enjoyed reading your diary - thanks for the inspiration :D

Aw thanks Hun. It's David Lloyd at the Barrage, I love, love, love it!!! Nice atmosphere in the gym too, it's not full of big guys on steroids. I used to go the JJB one in M'bro when it first opened but it went down hill. Been at DL's for years now.

Hi Sal,

I hope you enjoy your date with "Gym".

MM

Mel I've stood Gym up lol. I had a massive dilemma = I have a dress for my cousins wedding on 16th April, I tried it on just now and although I can zip it up etc and it fits, it's a little bit too tight to be comfortable. I need to lose about 9lbs for it to fit perfectly!

Here's my dilemma, I love going to the gym and have just started back after a sports injury BUT it slows my weightless down significantly.

If I do SS for the next 3 weeks I can probably get into the dress and feel comfortable, but that's with NO exercise!!

So I've decided to try and aim for bigger losses for the time being!! Just hope it works.

Hi Sal,

Actually it sounds like a very good plan -- I was bit worried about you reinjuring your leg, between being back at work and working out. So, maybe getting it used to being at work, then adding in fitness (slowly) would be better in the long run.

MM

I was only doing what the physio said I could, maybe swimming too much but not pushing it really, but even that's enough to create a stall in my weight loss, so at least until after the wedding I'll be giving it all a miss :(

Oh dear what's wrong with me? I'm sooo hungry!!! Just had my last shake half an hour ago and I'm still hungry!! I'm well down my third litre of water too so I'm drinking plenty.

I keep wandering into the kitchen and looking in the fridge, where I'm confronted by Dr Pepper and his brother Coke Zero, a jar of mayo, and fat free salad dressing. I'm not desperate enough to start tucking into the mayo or salad dressing yet, but I can't stop drifting through to the fridge.

I want something to eat!!!!!!

Do you want something crunchy, or something smooth and melty and soothing?

Cos according to Linda Spangle, another 'any diet will work, you just have to know how to make it' guru (can't believe I'd never heard of her either), if you want something crunchy, you've got 'head hunger' and you're probably angry with someone or something and want to psychologically 'crunch' them up.

If on the other hand you're drawn towards smooth and soothing, you've got 'heart hunger' and it's more likely to be due to you feeling lonely, bored or unhappy...
