Surfhunny's Countdown to Florida

Oh dear no sign of sleep just yet, another night of insomnia for me then! Not so good when I do actually have to be up in the morning. I'm taking my car to the garage to find out the verdict on my airbag switch. I suspect its not going to be cheap :(

Now I've got hiccups, so any attempt at trying to sleep is entirely pointless for the time being.... Where's my kindle??

get rid of it sally... the car, not the kindle lol. toyota yaris - 6.9% interest rate and 2 years free servicing at the min.£13g though. £199 a month for 35 months

Hi Sal --

I hope you have a good Tuesday... it is Tuesday, isn't it?

What's the verdict on the switch?

FYI: There is a thread on this forum that SueinSpain and others are posting about the Kindle and free books, recommended books, etc.

yeah - i was sick of moneypit old cars so i bought a five-door KIA picanto a couple of years ago. £125 a month (with a very small deposit), no MOT needed, seven year warranty, never had a moment's problem. In a year's time I give it back and start all over again. (Or i could pay the balance and keep it - but why would i do that when i can have another 3 years worry free car ownership?).

As soon as I've finished paying for the beast I'm joining the car scheme they have at work which is similar to what you've described, it includes insurance, tax, tyres, services all I pay on top is petrol/diesel. I'm seeing what this winter is like, if it's bad I quite fancy a Ford Kuga for next year, or an Astra twin top convertible or a golf.

Oh and as for the beast, it was the airbag switch, as I suspected, the part costs £150 but my lovely mechanic is going to see if the local breakers yard has any first, plus he's going to mot it while he has it. Monday is going to be a very expensive day :( luckily I'll have been paid!

Well, that's it done and dusted. I hope he find a cheaper switch.

Pourquoi?

where's sally? not a good zumba day. very depressed. none of my 5 ladies from last week turned up to my gold class, just 2 from my thursday class. so was down hall fees :( then tonight 1 person came. decided it wasn't worth it so delivered a few leaflets for half an hour. i think i have a rather large problem with the hall on tuesdays. it's that or the time.

Nikki,

Have you thought about working for a leisure centre?

They want you to have ETM certification. The Zumba license just isn't enough. :(

Bummer.
Not here.(I asked one of the instructors and she said that she just has the Zumba training -- they are not leisure centre employees but independant contractors.)

Have you tried all of the gyms?

How difficult would it be to get the EMT certification.

£500 more difficult. i really want to do it but hubby's banging on about money 24/7. that is also depressing me. there's on starting in feb for 16 weeks at a local college.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time Nikki! Could you talk to Sam at DLs see if she has any ideas that'll help with zumba? Im no help because I haven't got a business head at all. What does this extra certificate involve that takes 16 weeks? It seems a bit excessive to me.

could you do a big ebay sesh? I made over £600 before fees selling clothes earlier this year.

sam's left dl's and so has phill. the place has gone down hill fast. the course covers A&P as well as you showing that you can actually teach group exercise.

Well I've just tried on the dreaded new uniforms again, just out of interest and randomly I'm almost there. Just need to shift some weight off my backside and they'll be fine! Trouble is I don't want to wear the monstrosities :(

Hi Nikki,

Could your parents help out with the tuition as a Christmas gift? Also, if you are through having children -- you could ebay the baby stuff as Dude outgrows it.

(I have a friend that funded a weekend spa trip that way.)

i've sold some stuff over his 2 odd years but my mum's next door neighbour's son's girlfriend is due nov and they have nothing. so i've been passing some stuff on. i'm sure i'll be fine from feb. i hate ebay right now. they really screw you over. i sold some zumba trousers that didn't fit well. i'd worn them once. i got £35 and got charged £5 fees. then there's paypal fees to pay. not nice. i have a running pram that needs to be sold on ebay. going to have to get listing. should fetch £200.

where's sally tonight? not bad news about the uniform. at least it almost fits. if you stick with your plan you should be in it when you need to be. i'll have to come and have a laugh :p :8855: :p

my uncle's just come out of JC actually. he was taken ill with tum pains. he had to be knocked out and a 7 hr op later he has crones. don't know much more than that.
