Surfhunny's Countdown to Florida

Today was the dreaded fitting for our new uniforms. What a horrendous experience that was!! The woman was so rude, she sized you up by eye, no tape measure in sight, then threw clothes at you, everyone who'd been before me had been mortified because they'd been sized larger than they thought so I was really dreading my turn, and couldve cried when I was told the size 18 trousers were "far too tight!!" (they were fine btw) she then threw a pair of 20's at me, they're way too big but that's what she ordered me :eek:( the tops were a different story altogether, I expected her to put me in XL or XXL but she gave me an L, I was convinced it wouldn't fit but it was perfect! I don't understand!!!!

When I got back I was chatting to one of the girls who's a size 10, she was going mad because her trousers were a size 14 and top was medium, so that made me feel loads better but did nothing for her. The trousers are clearly 2 sizes out... Cos I'm a comfy 16 and she's a comfy 10. Talk about humiliating though, I'm glad I went with my friend. I always thought I was bigger than her but her top is XL and bottoms are 22 so I guess not.... We're mortified at the size of our butts, even though we know it's not real sizes.
 
doesn't sound like a nice experience. could you not have complained to get the smaller size?

just remember it's not the size of the clothes, it's the comfort, fit and 'style'.
 
Hey Shanny sorry fir the late reply. I seem to be getting on ok with cc, bit I've had a baaaaaad weekend. It was the Christmas do last night and I had about a million calories, and it pretty much carried on the same today.

Back to 1000 cals tomorrow until Chtistmas eve. I seem to be doing ok, not gaining anyway. I find that if I'm prepared I do actually get quite a lot to eat for the 1000 cals, after Christmas I'll take it a whole lot more seriously!

Urgh I don't know what's wrong with me, I'm bigger than I've been in ages and yet I can't stop eating I need serious help!! SS is still definitely not an option for me I can't face it enough to make it worth while for me. I need my mouth sewing shut. I feel gross but can't stop!

Aaaargh, sorry just needed a rant! I will pull myself together in the new year, I have to!!
 
sometimes you need to let loose to appreciate a diet. you need the mindset. i'm struggling too. i do not want to do my diet i just want to keep eating but here i am, back at it. it's a tough battle going on.
 
Aww big huggies I've given up on this diet totally now. Not trying any more and the worst feeling is that I'm desperate lol.

Thanks you're both right!! I will get back to it I just need to get my head back together, I recognize the cycle, I'll spend the next few days moaning to anyone who'll listen about how fat I am, then all of a sudden ping a switch flicks and I'll get right back to it!

i know i've not got far to go but having had xmas off indulging so have prob put on about 5-7lbs. i know this will be off in a week. i know i'll be at goal or close by my birthday on the 17th jan. just love the thin feeling you get on cd. just feel mega bloated and lumpy right now. having head struggles with wanting to carry on eating, had mega stressful xmas, and the reality that you can't do that.

i think that maybe after xmas when all the food is gone you might feel it. the ping will happen. just think of it as one month to goal if you are 100% on ss or even ss+.

we got an xbox at christmas and the kenetics thing. it takes you photo and makes you look mega thin lol. i'd highly recommend you getting one it's really good energetic fun. i'm also starting the 30 day shred jan 1st. biggest looser uk starts jan 10th. loads to look forward to. hubby got me the biggest looser game for wii for xmas so i'll be doing that too and getting my lazy butt back to the gym. i've done no exercise for a month with the kids being ill then xmas etc.

I'm going to start again on New Years day. I know its probably never a good idea to start a diet on New Years day, or on a Monday or on a day ending in 'Y' but it seems like the right time to me. I'm at work all day so won't be tempted by a huge roast dinner again and I'd rather die of starvation than eat the canteen food lol.

I'm going to give 1000 cals a real good go, it's just a case of being organised and prepared for each meal, and have low cal snack things on hand in case. I went and did a big shop today and have plenty of low cal low fat things in to cook. I'm not going to weigh myself either, I'm going to use my clothes as a guide, at least in the beginning. All my 16's are tight and I refuse to buy the next size up so I have to go down a size where I have a wardrobe full of clothes.

Back to Zumba next Thursday, I haven't been since before I went on holiday what with going away then coming back to all that snow and now Christmas I haven't managed to get there, and boy do I need to go. I'm feeling so unfit right now, can't wait to go back to it but I'm feeling very scared that I'm going to be so out of breath and knackered!! Eeek, not to mention I'll have forgotten it all lol, no excuses though I must go back.

So a plan is now in place and I feel a bit happier now, I hope 1000 cals work because the only other real answer is SS and I really can't face it again yet. I'm giving 1000 cals 2 months and if I see no real results by 1st March I'm calling a CDC right away and returning to SS, whether I like it or not lol.

Hopefully tomorrow I'm going to get my new xbox and kinect (providing anywhere has them) I'm looking forward to getting the zumba game when and comes out and there's a Biggest Loser one too, Bob and Jillian all to myself yay!!

I know I've pretty much neglected minis since I've been back from the States, but I didn't think people would want to hear me jabbering on about what crap I've been eating lol. I need to get out of this habit of grazing, which is basically what I've been doing since I've been back, that ends now, food at mealtimes only!

Good luck to everyone who's starting or continuing their diets let's hope 2011 is target year!!

yep 810 as of wednesday again. hard work. so hungry! yikes. just need my gain to go for monday really. then if i've STS or there abouts 4lb in 2 weeks is do able. birthday is the 17th so i should manage it if i stick to it 100%

i think if you're eating and doing the 1000 cals then you do need to plan so you're doing the right thing there. i think that's why i like the ss plan as it's just a shake to think of. easy lol :D i'm so lazy prepping food. has to be quick and not take too long as when i want to eat i want to eat. so i tend to stick to cottage cheese and salad most of the time as it's whacking it on the plate in 10 sec flat :D

Gives me a bit more room for another yoghurt if I'm hungry.
