Susie's 2022 campaign

Absolutely loving that FB post:rotflmao:
Ah no, gadgets...now I'm sure I need an air fryer! And an instant pot! My spiralizer is relegated to the cupboard, it's not as good as I thought..I prefer the fun pencil sharpener looking one I bought my daughter. I lurve gadgets :)

I wish I knew your secret to stopping eating when full Suzie, I just plough on and eat it all even when bursting! You're doing brilliant and are definitely smashing it with all your speedies.
I'm heading to H&B tomorrow & will be buying a stock of Little's coffee, the coconut one was devine. I got douwe & Egbert caramel one in Morrison's & so disappointed, not a patch!

I'd forgotten all about two chubby Cubs, I used to use that a lot. I like Emilybites too x

I agree with the slow cooker being the best gadget. Love my steamer too mind you.

Glad you got your coffee and scan bran. Never have tried that. (Scan bran ) often wondered about it.

I have those moments too Tibbs.

Afternoon ladies - just back from lunch, and what a gorgeous day - 21 and not a cloud in the sky! I had cannelloni with spinach and ricotta (3 syns), then beef steak grilled with salad and (oops) about 10 french fries (7 syns for a small Burger King serving of fries).

Scan bran has been likened to toasted cardboard :D but I like it, and I'm positive it helps with losses, and for keeping things (ahem) moving :)..

@Lottie12 how lovely to see you hun, and thank you for the fab comment mwah!

LOLOL I don't have a secret hun, and I consider it a miracle when it does happen :D :D. But do try the shiratake noodles/rice/etc - they really do give you that satiated feeling.

Thought that FB thing was a hoot, and I've never even been to a slimming group! They missed one though: isn't there always a woman who claims to have eaten pizza and doughnuts every day for a week and still loses weight? (and everyone who's stuck to plan all week and lost nothing is delighted for her, of course:p:D).

re: Scan bran, I've never had that but always thought it looked like a close relation of Ryvita, which I have had and heard described, possibly quite accurately in my view, as "Swedish ceiling board":D. I think I'll pass...

Well done on your eating-out choices, btw - good to know that SW can accommodate some socialising:)

Thanks hun - I was pleased how it went today - although I shouldn't have had the chips....

And more good news - I have sweet potatoes woohoo! :D. My friend had bought some in Ortona for me and dropped them round. Going to have some mash tomorrow, or maybe SW fries mmm.

Later - just stewed 3 apples and had one serving with apricot yogurt and crumbled bikkie - delish! I'm not going to syn the apple. They say it's to stop you eating loads - but i was very careful to divide the cooked apple into 3 dishes So there SW :).

Syns for today - 3 for the ricotta, 3.5 for the fries, 3 for the bikkies - 9.5. Happy with that - and there's room for an Options if I fancy it later - although it's off to bed for me soon, I have to be up at 6.45am to go to the local market with a new friend. Groan - I'm not known for my early starts!

Evening all!

Had a fab day - got up early (oh god) and met friends at the local market in Lanciano. It's not really my thing, lots of 2nd hand clothing and suchlike - but then it did occur to me that maybe I'll like it better once I can fit into the clothes on offer . My knees were killing me! Can't wait until I lose more and they won't hurt so much. Bring it on!! :)

Been lovely weather all day, and I'm now having a G&T (slim) before dinner - a tomatoey veg pasta thing out of the freezer. Brekkie - used my HEB on a tomato roll, first bread I've had for a week - not bad for me, the ultimate bread lover - and then lunch was fish and spinach in a little baked package (bought like that) - nice but not worth the 6 syns I'm going to count for it.

Susie I've just been catching up and you are doing so well. 9lbs in your first week is an Atkins result!!!!!!

No matter which plan you follow, I always think you have such amazing sounding menus. You seem to have a lot of variety in your foods, and seem quite adventurous in what you cook.

Hope your knees feel better soon - the warmer weather, and the weight loss I'm sure will be a killer combination in helping ease the pain x x

...At last I've made it over here :) You sound so happy Suzie and things seem to be going really good for you X
Doesn't it make you feel good once the sun is out..still blowing a gale up here and really cold last night, I think I saw we were forecast snow:confused: it won't though:)

I am such an early bird, I'm always hanging around for people to get up! I like flea markets but only the bits & bobs (I'm a hoarder of vintage china) I wouldn't get up and out that early though.
Do you not fancy trying the honey & cider vinegar for your knees? Dave's knee was agony & now it's not so bad, it maybe not that that's helping but worth trying. 1tsp honey dissolved in a little hot water, 1tsp cider vinegar, top up with cold water. Have 3 X Day. (Dave calls me Dr Google:D)

Hahaha:D You rebel not synning the cooked apple, I'd be stretchy on that too
Enjoy your day X

Buffy!!! How fab to see you, will catch up on your post asap. Thanks re the menus - it really helps to have time to do it, one of the many advantages of early retirement :). And I am having fun with all the different veg on offer here. Bought a purple and white aubergine yesterday, now just have to figure out what to do with it!

Oooh thanks Tibbs I'll give the cider vinegar a go - but really I know it's so much pressure on my knees from the weight - so, there's only one real solution!

Morning ladies - hanging my head in shame a bit here, as the binge monster got me bigtime last night. I had 5 (!) G&Ts, then an on plan pasta and veg dish, but then I had half a block of chocolate! So it'll be a miracle if I have any sort of loss tomorrow...ah well, I just must learn not to buy the bad stuff...and at least the gin is lower cals than wine.

Absolutely stuffed now from a brunch omelette with pancetta and heaps of spinach. Dinner will be the skinny rice and veg stir fry, and will get lots of water down me in the hope of minimising the damage from last night.

Morning lovelies!

Very happy to report a W1 loss of 9lbs woohoo! Thanks for your great support, it really helped :D.

Got to dash, late to meet a friend - speak later xxx

This is awesome what an amazing result. Well done pure sign of commitment :).

Reg The Green Tea, I've noticed a great difference between brands may be worth a trial run of a few. I've found from bitter literaly stripped my throat, to a dusty type taste texture, hard to explain. Then there's one that texture taste seemed slightly oiled?? All sounds crazy but it's such healthy stuff if you keep at it im sure youll find one. :)

Thanks Looking - funnily enough I've just made a big pot of green tea in the desperate hope that it'll whooshie away all the naughtiness of yesterday :D.

I just buy a local supermarket one, it's ok with a bit of sweetener...

Later - now on my second pot of tea (weeing for England here lol) and got dinner all planned out.

I am actually extremely proud of myself, went hunting for food and reached for....a prepared salad! Very unlike me. Had half, and will have the rest with my skinny rice stir fry - might add some curry powder to the stir fry to give it some zing.

Am also going to have a go at making Jamie's zero fat salad dressing - http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables-recipes/zingy-fat-free-dressing/ - using mustard powder, as it's syn free.

Later still...made a quick version of the Jamie dressing and it was lovely! One small pot of 0.01% natural yogurt, with 1tbsp apple cider vinegar, a squeeze of lemon juice, a sprinkle of dried Italian herbs and 1 tsp mustard powder et voila! Absolutely stuffed full now, but there's still some salad and most of the stir fry left, so will have low cal super speed food to munch on later.

Morning all

Well, whether it was yesterday's big push or I was just lucky, who knows but I lost 4lbs yaye! Tantalisingly close to the first stone - but that's to look forward to for next week :).

B/L - chicken/turkey sossies and eggs mmm
D - fennel and orange salad, then courgetti with tomato and mozzarella, I think

Lovely day here today. A friend has posted to say she's doing her gelato course today. Yes folks, there's a gelato university here :D and you can do a How To course. Just imagine, I'd be face down in the vats eating my way through the day :D.

Yay! that's a fab loss for week 2! 13lbs is what I lost on my first two weeks of Atkins back in 2011, so you're on a low carb schedule with that - brilliant!:D

And, like I say, it just goes to show that what matters is what you do most of the time, not what you do now and then. You had a blip but you got right back on plan and look at the result! You rock!:D

I think that's been one of the hardest things for me to accept in the past year: that I'm not going to be perfect all the time, but if I have a day where I overeat I haven't "ruined" anything - so long as I don't use it as an excuse to go back to my old ways. The key is consistency over time; new habits outweighing old ones.

Really proud of you, hun x:D

Excellent loss!!!!!!! So happy for you. Happy knees are in your near future x x

Aww Scrummie and Buffy thank you mwah!

Scrummie you have so nailed it - getting over the "throw the baby out with the bath water" mentality, that's one of my problems. I dunno, this time I keep saying to myself, and any friends who can't run away fast enough, that this is for life - this is how I eat from now on. Maybe it's slowly sinking into the little grey cells - finally! :D

Funnily enough, I just checked my old SW book and I'm following the exact same loss pattern - W1 - 9, W2 - 4 . W3 was a 4.5 loss so the pressure is on :D. But then it dropped back to 1-3 lbs with the occasional whooshie and a couple of gains. Happy if it follows that trend, as long as I'm consistent! (good word that). And my screamingly high BMI has dropped 2 points :).

Change of menu - decided to invite friends for a big salad lunch tomorrow, so will save the fennel for then. Probs do a tomatoey pasta bake tonight :innocent002:.

Wowza, you're doing marvellous Suzie, nearly a stone already:woohoo:
You seem to be really enjoying being back on SW and doing sooo well, very happy for you X

Thanks Tibbs!

Had three friends round for lunch and I am so proud of myself, made 4 salads and a hot dish and it was all SW friendly! Fennel and orange; mixed salad; sausage salad; salami, peppers and feta; and the hot dish was baked courgette strips in passata :).

They've headed off, I've done the big clean up and now I can relax yaye.

That's really good, I struggle when I have guests because I am such a feeder - and if they're getting something good I want some too lol

Using some leftovers for my pasta dinner - adding the courgette bake thing, and the sausage and toms out of the salad, plus I've got some leftover ham, so that's going in too! :)

Also got my printer/scanner set up, and scanned and emailed some documents - so feel like it's been a good day in terms of achieving things :).

Hope you had a good day too xx
