Susie's 2022 campaign

So sorry to hear that lovely :( Still sending the boss lots of flicks though!

Hope your chest infection sods off soon - sending you and your friends lots and lots and lots of cuddles xxx

Hello my lovelies - how I've missed you!

The horrible chest infection has gone, happily (I lost my voice completely for four days!), but I am constantly knackered and have put on more weight, leading to more puffing etc as I walk, bad sleep, aching knees and an overall sense of feeling cr*p. My sick friend is really sick, not expected to last more than another week or two, and my boss is fine one day, then a bas**rd the next, and I need to be mentally better equipped to deal with it all - SOOOO it's time to climb back on the wagon!

Anyhoo I went to see my new (slim, my heart sank) GP last week - but blow me down with a feather, she recommended....wait for it.....low carb!

She says she's 100% behind it, studies show it's much more effective for the morbidly obese and keeping the weight off, etc, so I'm going back the week after next to get my proper check up. I did really well on low carb four years ago - loved all the cooking and preparing things from scratch but fell into a huge bread hole and took months to emerge blinking - so I need to get equipped to deal with that too - via low carb bread (which you can buy from Waitrose now) and some stern talking to. I've also rejoined the Atkins section of Minis.

It might seem crazy starting just 5 weeks out from Christmas, but you know what it's like - when your head gets in the right place, you've just got to go with it. I'm starting properly on Monday so I can get cooking over the weekend. Anyway I'm back now, and looking forward to hearing how you all are xxx

hi susie
so glad your back love x x

Hey!

Nice to have you back! And well done for getting back on it considering what's going on at the moment for you! Not sure I'd be able to get my head in the right place.

I've heard some amazing sucesses with Low Carbing, it's crazy times effective at regulating sugar spikes so hopefully it works again for you! And with the subsitutations - low carb bread etc... you don't have to fully cut out what you love - just adapt it :D

Sorry to hear about your friend love :( Sending you more extra big cuddles (and a threat to set our robotic Tracy on the boss!)

Very glad to hear your getting your head back in the game though love :) Well done xxx

Hello darlings :wave_cry:

It's meee, bigger than ever after eating and drinking my way through the holidays, but determined to get myself back on track after a truly horrible year, with five bereavements, the burglaries and a totm that lasted for six weeks and was, frankly, horrendous. Christmas was hard, really hard, because I would normally have spent that (and probably New Year) with my friend who passed away recently - and my brother in NZ is being an arrrssse and not returning calls - so it was a major comfort foodfest in Castle Felsham.

But now it's shoulders back time. I'm off to a new SW class on Monday night that's close to home and not too late, I've already done the online shop which is coming Sunday night and I'm on my last few ciggies and then it's vaping fulltime. I've had enough of wheezing and coughing, of not being to walk very far, and just being hugely unhealthy. I am going to do this!!!

Am gonna chuck everything I've got into losing weight - I have loads of bags of shirataki noodles/pasta to use and they are so fab for making me feel full and not grazing after dinner; and I'm also dragging out the vibroplate (which I bought on eBay months ago and to my shame have never used!) - plus I'll start doing Leslie Sansone again. I'm also paying for the 12 weeks course - a good discount with it, so why not?!

I'll report back on Monday night about the class - but just wanted to say how sorry I am to have been awol for so long. You are a great bunch, and I've got lots of news to catch up on. Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.

Susie xxx

Thanks SJB :)

Oooh yes this new plan sounds interesting - been reading about it on the SW section - can't wait for Monday (even though this is my last weekend of freedom before work lol)!

Great to see you back, Susie! :) Sorry you've been having such a bad time - hopefully 2015 will be a better year for us all! :) xx

Thank you ladies, and can't wait to do this journey with two such sterling chapettes as you beside me :D. Hope the year has started well for you both!

Well I had a shaky start to the day, woke up in the early hours to find I was having palpitations, and they got stronger and stronger - never had them before and omg I thought I was about to have a heart attack!!! I was trying not to panic, but when you live on your own it's hard not to...anyhoo some St John's Wort to help calm me down and a bit of googling point towards it being my old friend, bloody menopause! Apparently it's really common for menopause, which i am really suffering from at the moment (I've just come out the other side of a gruesome 6 week totm). One site recommended black cohosh for it, and I have some in the cupboard, so took some straight awya and they've stopped. TG!!!

So that got things off to a lively start today :) Now I'm off to clean the cupboards out and pack up the worst offenders for work friends. Or maybe I'll play Pyramid Solitaire Saga instead. Just for a minute...:D

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good, hope you're ok now. I keep expecting to get struck down by menopause symptoms, but don't seem to have so far! :) xx
