Susie's 2022 campaign

Thank you ladies, and can't wait to do this journey with two such sterling chapettes as you beside me :D. Hope the year has started well for you both!

Well I had a shaky start to the day, woke up in the early hours to find I was having palpitations, and they got stronger and stronger - never had them before and omg I thought I was about to have a heart attack!!! I was trying not to panic, but when you live on your own it's hard not to...anyhoo some St John's Wort to help calm me down and a bit of googling point towards it being my old friend, bloody menopause! Apparently it's really common for menopause, which i am really suffering from at the moment (I've just come out the other side of a gruesome 6 week totm). One site recommended black cohosh for it, and I have some in the cupboard, so took some straight awya and they've stopped. TG!!!

So that got things off to a lively start today :) Now I'm off to clean the cupboards out and pack up the worst offenders for work friends. Or maybe I'll play Pyramid Solitaire Saga instead. Just for a minute...:D

Glad they've stopped but if it keeps happening go & get it checked out just in case not related to blooming hormones!

BTW your minute is up - if you're like me you'll still be playing hours later :p

Glad they've stopped but if it keeps happening go & get it checked out just in case not related to blooming hormones!

Yep will do, never been so scared!

PSSaga - have to wait for more hearts :) It is soooo addictive though, I'm up to level 52 and find myself switching it on if I wake up in the night (oh dear)!

Morning all

No more worrying flutters thank goodness, but it's a big day because last night I smoked my last cigarette! I've loved smoking but I've had an awful phlegmy (sorry) cough for a couple of months that wouldn't clear up, and - well really I'm a textbook case of what you don't do if you want to live a long and healthy life - morbidly obese, smoker, love wine, don't exercise!

I've got a few different e-cigs, and an a great app, but I feel Ok about it, it's just breaking habits - like a ciggy with my morning tea! I just have to keep telling myself how nice it will be to walk to work without getting all breathless :)

And then tomorrow night it's SW, which I am really getting excited about! :D

Ooh good luck with the stopping smoking. I come from a family of heavy smokers, so never started - hearing my mums cough every morning would put anyone off! But my mum and dad have (finally) successful quit :) so really all the very best of luck! Make sure you keep your hands busy!

And SW tomorrow? Exciting times!!

Hey Stackie - thanks hun :)

Yes it's Action Stations here today - I finally dyed my hair and cut it (not terribly well but it will do), put out all the recycling and rubbish, am about to clean the fridge so it's ready to receive lots of lovely fruit n veg this afternoon when Mr Tesco comes round, the laundry is all done - phew, time for lunch :)

Well done on giving up the cigs. I quit using an ecig they where fantastic. Still use it daily but a lot less. The only advice I was given was start high on the nicotine strength so you give yourself every chance of quitting. Having a puff on a rather nice blueberry flavour as I type. X

Thanks Beaxx - well done you for giving up too! Blueberry eh? I'm not sure about the fruity flavours, but a guy at work swears by them :)

I feel OK at the moment, not even had a puff on one of the four e-cigs I've got as backups lol. After dinner (like, now) is when I normally fancy one but I'm actually not bovvered. I gave up for a month this time last year, then had the first of five family bereavements all in a row, which opened the door to unabashed comfort eating/drinking/etc, so after such a horrible year, it feels REALLY good to be in control again and working hard towards getting my health back :).

Very impressed with you stopping smoking & starting SW at same time :D

Hope Mr T delivered a large supply of S & P foods & good luck x

Yeah i might be nuts but what the heck! :D And thanks for the good wishes - back at ya xxx

Well my fridge has never been this empty! Forgot my delivery is tomorrow night duh, but at least all the bad stuff is gone...

well done you susie i gave up i think its 4 years now and best thing i ever did x x x

Evening ladies

Just back from my first class and as suspected, I have gained 9lbs from my heaviest weight to make me 24 stones - but I really like the sound of the EE plan and the booster plan too, so it's all doable.

Lots to read up and (hah) digest, although the new plan phases out green and red days and has just EE.3ed3 I like the class too, a nice bunch of women - a couple of big losers, one lady has lost 9st so far!

Just waiting for my groceries now and will then jump in the kitchen. I think for tomorrow, it'll be a spinach fritatta for breakfast, soup for lunch and dunno for dinner :D

Two incredible things to be doing all at once :) Well done gorgeous! And welcome back :) So glad to see you again! :D

Here is to a 2015 that cannot be anywhere near as evil as last year x

I really like the sound of the rejig of SW but am NOT loving extra easy SP this week!

Oh sorry to hear that love, what's up? if you're missing certain things are there substitutes? xxx

Kym - hello my lovely girl, so good to see you too mwah!! xxx

I'm missing my favourite carbs - rice, potato & pasta :( Plus no frozen muller light for pudding! Not hungry but I find I crave something more if "not allowed". Pushing on until Thursday then back to EE. Hope your reading your pack not playing Pyramid saga :p

Oh no yogurt on SP? They said in class tonight (get me lol) that you can still have stuff like potatoes but in moderation...p59 of your new book - just that it will slow your losses down.

Actually Shelley can you do me a massive favour? My consultant had so many new members to weigh in that she didn't give me the pin for online - could you look up the syns for Heinz Farmers Market butternut squash and sweet potato soup, and Tesco Tuscan Bean soup please? My Tesco delivery has been delayed and all my lunchtime stuff is on it!

And thanks Kym you sweetie pie, I am feeling a lot happier and more in control of things, raring to go on the weight loss thing!

oohhh susie im so proud of you hun x x x

Afternoon lovely ladieeeeeees :D

All is good here. Am slowly getting my head around the SW EE plan, so today's menu (despite Tesco not turning up at all last night grrrr) is -

B - pink grapefruit segments - haven't had one for years and loved it - and a cup of tea
L - fritatta made with water and Frylight, and with spinach, courgette and dried basil - very nice, just had it cold at my desk
D - Am going to try the spag bol but use miracle noodles instead of pasta, and lots of S veg
S - apple, Liberte yog (1 1/2 syns)

I only used 50g milk with my tea this morning so will add 1 syn for that so I can have cheese on the spag bol as my HEXA. Not sure what to do with my HEXB - maybe a slice or two of toast later...

SW experts - does that sound OK? It leaves lots of syns and the consultant - and a few women there - said it was best to use them all up. So I could have 100g of the MOST LUSH Waitrose chocolate frozen yogurt for 3; or do the toast thing and use some Pure spread; or have more cheese on my dinner! I don't like eating when I'm not hungry, just for the sake of it, so will see how I feel later.

No walking today, it's raining and cold - but Day 3 of no cigs :D

Sounds fine for EE - lots of superfree veggies and fruit (I'm assuming the spag bol will have tomatoes, onions, maybe mushrooms and so on?).

I wouldn't be too concerned about your syns. At first I think it's natural to be cautious about using them but they really are there to be used, to stop you feeling deprived, to make things taste more "interesting" like e.g. using more cheese on your dinner or some mustard on a sandwich and so on. Give it a few weeks - you'll be eating 10 or 15 every day like a lot of us :D. Or save them up and have a measured amount of what you fancy over the weekend - e.g. you can use 28-30 on a whole bottle of wine to drink at the weekend or throughout the week and that still leaves you 10 a day to use on other stuff. SW don't endorse this approach - I think they recommend you stick to a maximum of 15 a day (except for a rare flexi-syn event) but many of us find that counting weekly instead of daily doesn't harm us at all.

Oh thanks so much hun that's good to know.

Will give the vino a miss as I'm actually on the wagon too at the moment - whenever I have alcohol I want a cigarette, so laying off one to kick the other! Nothing like taking everything on at once lol - but it's not forever. So yaye to more cheese tonight :D

And yes to the spag bol contents - all of the above, plus maybe courgettes and spinach as well :)
