Syn Values

My pack of Ainsley Harriott cous cous says you get two 140g servings from the pack or in other words the packet makes 280g of cooked cous cous.

At half a sin per 100g you're only talking about 1.5 sins for the whole packet so still really good value and a great standby.

I quite often take them in a tupperware type box to the office for lunch - just add boiling water, pop the lid back on and five minutes later a great lunch. I usually add some extras like halved baby plum tomatoes and chopped dried apricots (sins) to bulk it out and get my veggies in.

Circes hunni what you have said is not quite right. It's close though :)

The Tango Tomato Cous Cous is 1/2 a syn on green for 100g of the dry weight cooked. Now I looked today and the packets are 110g so basically for just less than the full packet is half a syn. Now like you say it is meant to serve 2. Which is why I think Avlaing has been told its free as a suggested portion is half a packet which is 1/4 of a syn.

Hope this helps and clarifys some what.

Ikkle x

PS dont forget if you are adding oil/butter to syn them or use your oil as a HEX

Hi
Wondering how to syn cottage cheese that was 6% fat -yes thats right but it was lovely.
It is not listed on the SW site and had chives in. I made the SW quiche so had 3 portions over a couple of days.
Also had 2 pieces of toblerone the other night any ideas - can't find this on the web site.
Thanks Irene

I'm sorry but I've tried various things and I can't help with the cottage cheese. I would think if you made sw quiche and ad it over a couple of days it would be negligible

Hi
It was the nicest CC I have ever had - not runny at all - as you say negligible over a few days.
Going to give my all until Christmas so back to writing my diary.
Thanks Irene:)

Jennifer, the majority of Very Low Fat Cottages cheeses are syn free, however low fat and flavoured versions do occasionally have syns.

Syn values change all the time so I wouldn't risk these being accurate. A few years ago, Corned Beef used to be free on red days but it's not anymore. Does the new food directory contain the information you need?

They are online hun, but you would probably be best finding what items you want and putting in a syn request. I've looked but there are a lot of options. x
