tazbabe's show and tell

Hi Marty, Glad to hear you had a good break. Your so good having already weeded your garden, mines a mess.

On the 'low carb friends' site message boards, there is a whole section of HCG. It may be really helpful to go through it. I haven't heard of it and only saw it there.

I'm doing the JUDDD diet. There's a whole section on the same site too. This was my first week and my loss was as good as on Atkins. It's a day of 500 cal and then a day of 1700 cal (that's just my levels but they recommend you don't go below 500 but may do, I couldn't)

I'm happy on it and the lower end is only for 2 weeks and then you move it up.

Maybe if you go onto low carb friends and read both you can choose. Some do JUDDD with their down down days on shakes, but I need my grub so use food.

I'm not prone to depression at all, but did have down some days on atkins, and never connected the 2. Very interesting though and wonder why that is?

Good luck with whatever you do and we're here to support you. :)

ooh, thanks for that, i will go and have a look!

i was wondering about shakes, may have one for breakfast, get the day started.

thank you so much for the kind words of support.

Morning Marty

So pleased you had a lovely break! :)

Sounds like you've done lots of thinkng about the best way forward - haven't heard of the HCG one, but all the very best of luck - whatever you decide to do xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You're right, the body has supplies of nutrients that can last out a month of depriving yourself with no problems so 21 days should be ok - maybe tough to keep to but sometimes you need something new or something strict to give you focus, I totally understand that - I've been there before. And there's no way you can -not- lose weight on 500 cals a day. You need to do what's right for you.

Re: depression... I dont know, I think it's a little like what recovering alcoholics say. Once you've been an alcoholic you're never not an alcoholic, though you're not drinking anymore the potential is always there in your basic makeup. It's not a failing on yours or anyones part to struggle, and you're taking steps to get on top of it - which you will. There isn't always a reason why it happens, it just does.

Good luck with everything xx

morning!

still waiting for the drops to arrive, been reading and reading....meanwhile continuing with atkins.......

work today, really not in the mood!

Morning Marty, hope HCG works for you - good luck!

morning!

well completed my 2 'loading days' - really all things atkins but just lots of it......then day one of the real challenge was yesterday....today the scales say.....down 2lb!

i should really change my ticker, as my start weight for this was 214.6lb. but i can't bear to see it going up....i'll change it once i get below what it is now though!

another 1lb off today!!!!!

it is recommended on this regime that you weigh everyday, as if your not losing 1lb per day you need to adjust the eating a bit.

i am soo both shocked and delighted that it is working from the very off! thought it would be a day or so before there would be any change.

guess what?

1.2lb off today!!!

aye susie, i am using the drops, and following the hcg protocol, which is very low carb, low fat and low cal. it's not easy, and there are a few non atkins foods, for instance an apple every day, which i am really enjoying, i cut it up, sprinke with cinamon and zap in micro..its delish!

the diet is in three phases, i am now on pase 2 for 21 days. phase 3 is a kind of refeed, but basically all things atkins, so that should be the easy bit!

also, i think the anti depressants are starting to kick in a little now, so the 2 things going well are making me feel a bit more at peace with the world. i found myself cracking my usual really bad jokes yesterday at work, so unfortunately for my colleagues i am getting a bit better!

So glad it's all going well for you and just admiring your spectacular will power for keeping to the vlcd part! Keep going!
