My gran lived with us as a fairly young family in NZ, and I won't deny there weren't some tensions - but we also got a lot out of it too (she was a marvellous cook - chocolate caramel squares, anyone?). You will make it work - and if not, we'll all just move into Jim's

LOL, it's a big old Victorian Semi Vicky, our bedroom is upstairs in the old servants quarters in the roof, there would have been five main bedrooms on the middle floor, but one was converted into a bathroom and toilet. Colleen tells me that in Victorian times the fron bedroom would actually have been the sitting room, it's the biggest room in the house. Downstairs we have a dining room, breakfast room, sitting room, kitchen and utility. All large rooms with 16' ceilings.

Do you fancy decorating them Bren.

Oh I don't think that's the problem Vicky, it's the whole internet thing, she is a very private person.

is she ok with us meeting you?

Oh yes, she has no problem with that Vicky, she doesn't like posting pics and stuff in public areas, but she's OK when I do it because she understands how proud I am of the weight I've lost, and she's well pleased with that as well.

I am indeed, it must be so hard to follow a diet if your partner is not helping.

very true does she eat the same as you but with carbs?

 

[Jim]

Yes Vicky, we'll have same main meal but I have extra veggies and she'll have potato and stuff.

Breakfast is different, she always have a cereal or something whilst I tend to have leftovers, deliberate leftovers usually.

ah right was meaning to ask Jim what do you usually eat on a weekend typically cos you are never on to do your meals!

will she come along and meet us? be nice if she does

well, we can't offer MIL such grandness in our humble cottage, but we do have lots of outside room and lovely views, and peace and quiet.
we'll rub along together nicely!
