The First Diary of Trudy C age 40 something!

oh yummmmm

Oh yes please CD!!!!! With as many different varieties as we can think of!!!!! LOL..... So a good day work wise today - got my boss to fix the internet connection in my house so now I have good reception in my house at last!!!! YAHOO - no more traipsing to the office when I need to do something more than e-mail!!!
Had a singing session tonight though that was a bit disheartening - trying to learn songs in flemish by a guy called Jacque Brel but even the songs in English are a bit weird in timing etc and I am not sure I am up to the job - I would need to get some help and paying £25 per hour for help and babysitting costs on top make this slightly unviable!!!! Need to tell the guy tomorrow but feel really bad letting him down - wish I could come up with an alternative for him - I dunno but don't feel great about it....... hmmmmm. Oh well nowt I can do!! If I were more musically minded I am sure it would be fine...Did get the singing part I wanted from last nights audition which is fab - I will be singing the duet 'For Good' from Wicked which is an amazing song - get to get green too that will be fun - well getting it off will be !!!!
Had a lovely PV day and absolutely stuffed - also didn't eat till late so slightly uncomfortable lying in bed!!!! LOL
B - 2 muffins
L - BNS soup/ chicken with dukan BBQ sauce
D - Chicken/ salad/ tofu creme and rhubarb

Haven't had my full dose of oat bran today but really could not cram another thing in!!!!

Oh Trudy - Jaques Brel!! One of my favourites, and a famous Belgian too ;-D Please don't give up ;-) What are you trying to sing - Marijke? Le Plat Pays? And then of course there is "ne me quitte pas" / If you go now (?) ! I don't know many of his songs in Flemish, most of them I am familiar with in French. Have you heard any recordings? I go through phases of having a compilation on loop. In fact I have "Bruxelles" going round my head now...

But well done on getting the other part you really wanted!

Cheesecake party - good idea! I'll bring a German baked cheesecake, maybe a 'Schlesischer Streuselkuchen', not made that for a while, yum...

Oh and agree for the Rhubarb, only discovered it recently though I was fully aware we were allowed it all the time! Now you can't open my fridge or freezer without finding something Rhubarb-related in it! But I really fancied a change as I'm still avoiding fruit in general so as treat last night I bought myself a MullerLight Strawberry (close your ears...), and because I do find them quite liquid /gloopy, I stirred a few teaspoons creamy (strained) home made plain yoghurth in it. Delicious! Less sweet and more creamy, perfect. So really I used the ML as 'flavouring' and turned it into two pots of 'greek style strawberry' ha ha!

But really Sara surely you want to join our cheesecake gang??????? Would be quite a sight 6 or 7 Dukaneers and plates of cheesecake - carnage!!! Anjuschka -if I could do the songs justice I would do them Marieke is one of them, The Old Folks, The Desperate Ones and another I can't remember - still going to rehearsal tonight as he wants me to do it but we shall see - not feeling very positive!!!!

Great news on getting the part you want and again good luck for your flemish singing tonight, you might be better than your thinking you are, this sticky fingers cheesecake gang....do we get a members badge lol xxx

Sorry Chris won't mention it anymore, but will pick you up on the way to bonnie Scotland as long as you don't mind the horses!!! LOL! Busy day at work but good - finished early to pick up Ben from his first day at school - he was exhausted but his teacher said he was fine - didn't stop talking - now where would he get that from???? LOL! Gave him dinner then whizzed out to rehearsal completely forgetting that the May Fair is in town so had to park a wee walk away from the music school and hoof it!! Rehearsal was SOOOO much better than I had hoped - really feel a lot happier about the music and realised that the problem I was having was within the music and not me being totally dim - they are gonna re-write the score a bit combining the original and the other versions to get something that works for them!!! Glad I didn't just throw the towel in!!!! Then raced on to another rehearsal for a concert at the Town Hall which is a nice venue - singing a load of songs I know inside out which is great!!! Looking forward to that and I get to wear a pretty dress - yay!!!! Singing Fields of Gold in three parts with two of my favourite people and fronting June is Bustin Out All Over - lots of fun!!!! Soooooo glad I feel better about the singing as was really down last night and had a rubbish nights sleep over it!!!
My friend who had her last day of attack today lost 7 lbs and is pleased - I can't believe just how much thinner she looks already but she really has lost the bloated look that she had - she is looking forward to veg tomorrow!!! I took her one of my muffins to try and she loved them so will be baking a batch tomorrow Another friend is starting attack on Sunday so it will be nice to have a group of us - we jokingly said we should get together but seriously it is nice to be around fellow dukaners!!!
Out to dinner tomorrow night for a friends birthday - going to a steak place so looking forward to a humungous steak and a lovely salad - must make up a new batch of dressing to take with me!!!! YUM!
PP day today
B - 2 muffins
L - mince flan/ham
D - chicken/ 2 muffins

OMG fellow dukaners, just made a wonderful big lunch for myself - Mrs R got me thinking about XL pork tenderloin so got some and just cooked it for lunch - totally divine and more in the fridge for tomorrow!!!!
Basically got a tenderloin and put some herbs on there, oregano, thyme, basil and a general meat rub, then wrapped in extra lean bacon medallions. Into a hot oven for 40 mins then basted with a glaze made of balsamic/sweetner/garlic and mustard!!!!! Back in for 10 mins then rested for five and served - amazing!!!! Full to the gunnels - don't think I need my evening meal tonight!!! YUMYUM!

SO PV day today and so far:-
B - 2 muffins
L - BNS soup/xl pork tenderloin/swede/carrot/mushroom and onion sauce

sounds yum T - I love pork fillet doesnt do any harm if all the fat is trimmed off delish rolled in paprika, garlic & black pepper too then wrapped in LF bacon and roasted.

Was defo worth the effort Sara - Chris will try your recipe next time as simply LOVE paprika!!! Sooooo just got back from the birthday meal out and think I did okay..... All this talk of cheesecake and what should be on the menu - flippin mars bar cheesecake - my best buddy had it and OMG I wanted it soooooo badly but just sucked down a black coffee instead and although I feel great about resisting now at the time I just wanted to shovel it down!!!! Hate it that I still want rubbish food after months on Dukan - guess it's the way I am!!!!!
Really did have a lot to eat today but not gonna get negative about that as MOST of it v Dukan friendly!!! So to continue my food diary from above:-
S - rest of pork tenderloin!!!! (oops no more for tomorrow!!!)
D - prawns and chorizo in tomato with rocket/ rump steak/ tomato/mushroom/ 2 muffins and a sneaky single vodka!!!!
So apart from the chorizo and vodka a very good day but I do feel full!!!

On a very positive note, I wore my lovely dress to dinner and it is getting much looser but still looks fab and I feel great in it - when I went to the loo tonight for the first time ever I wasn't looking in the mirror thinking oh I wish that lump or bump wasn't there as the whole picture was elegant and slim (well ish) defo a first for me!!!!! Also had fun trying on my best friends cast offs - she had a bag of clothes for the charity shop and I asked if I could try them - she looked a bit shocked but as we are now the same size no reason not to!!!!! Now acquired a few tops and trousers - bargain!!!!

Love a billy bargin Trudy...your food sounds great, one of my friends is a compulsive buyer, and she asked if new anyone at work who I could give a large shopping bag full of make up too as she's now compulsivly buys trouses :-? So I said I want first pick then I'll pass it on......unopened masses....WHY?...but I now have enough nail narnish,in all the colours to last the rest of the year billy bargin. Have a great day our little Dukan songbird xxx

i did that last week trudy... all through dinner i felt overdressed as everyone turned up in jeans etc and I had a boob tube style dress on... felt rather uncomfortable lol. then went to a bar and i went to the loo and for the first time in 20 odd years i liked what i saw in the full legnth mirrors as the dress was very tight lol
