I made the mac and cheese the other night and it was lovely! I'd only say I would put more spring onions, cherry tomatoes and garlic in next time :)

Sorry, I wrote that wrong that's what I meant haha! I plan on not drinking now til at least June (both for medical and weight loss reasons) but the idea of replacing potential pub time with exercise seems like a good plan!
shame you didn't like the meatball pasta, I was in love with it and I'm counting down for lunch when I can eat the leftovers hahaha! x

I wish I could not drink from now until June! I have my best friends hen night on the 27th of this month, so my plan is to stop in for the next two weekends so I can look my best for that! And then she gets married May 24th, so I'll try my damned hardest to stop in between the hen night and the wedding. I know they will both be very Synful occasions so my thoughts are if I can be as good as gold until then it will feel like more of a treat - I'll appreciate it more!

I don't think the meatball pasta bake will feature in this house anyway my family are fussy lol I'm thinking of making chicken yakitore from the Asia book for myself and my mam tomorrow, others don't fancy it so they can make their own ;) ill let you know what the mac and cheese is like!

With the metafit I find I feel weird afterwards, like shaky lol literally feels as if my body is vibrating! Do you do the squat thrusts in yours? I couldn't do them the first week and I felt as if I nailed them on Wednesday, and the instructor told me I was doing them right when I said this. Proud of me! Lol it is really hard though. I've never done CXWORX. X

I bought the Asia book a couple of weeks ago but am yet to try anything for it! I definitely want to try the chicken & sweetcorn soup, beef in black bean sauce and the lemon chicken at some point. In fact, with stopping in tomorrow night I might make myself one of them! Would feel like a nice treat I'm sure :)

I totally agree on the Metafit thing! It was like my body had gone into shock. It's with all of the intenseness, then a short recovery and straight back at it again! I'm hoping it will get a little easier :giggle: CXWORX is no where near as intense but it's a good workout! I usually try and do it either before or after another class though, because it really does seem pointless to trail all the way to the gym for a relaxed 30 minute workout. I'd do that for Metafit though, as I'd feel I'd gotten more out of that! xx

Yeah I Love cheese too! My dad decided to put even more cheese on... Like 150g of lighter Red Leicester in total! Worked out 23 syns and we made two large lasagne dishes full so it was worth it! :)

Same here! I'd have tried loads but as I've said, my family are too bloody fussy! Plus Chris is not really a Chinese lover apart from spring rolls and chow mein so I can't even make it for him lol but I've decided ill just make something for myself and my mam cos she likes different things.

It makes sense to not trail out just for that, when you can do it all at home anyway. X

same excuse as Rochelle, the boyfriend came home with a bottle of vodka last
night so its there in the fridge while I'm trying to be good!

Either go out and have a glass or 2 within syns and have some soft drinks or look at that photo and remember how bad you felt after weigh in on Tuesday. Be strong! Xx

Morning diary, Happy Friday! Well, it could be not so happy depending on how you look at it - my danger zone has officially arrived. Eek, must stay on plan this weekend and stay away from temptation.

I didn't go to the gym last night as the class was only a 30 minute one, and then none of the other classes I do were on afterwards. It was BodyAttack or BodyPump - both of which I'm not overly keen on. So I thought it was a bit pointless getting myself ready and driving over there for the sake of half an hour. I'm going to two tonight though! Abs Blast (which I've not yet tried), and then BodyCombat afterwards. Looking forward to it :)

Great food day. It sounds like a really delicious day. How did your magic porridge turn out? Was it really smooth and creamy or a bit gritty and chalky? Did you use muller lite?

Have really enjoyed it so far, looking forward to my pasta when I get back from the gym! Yum :)

I always use a muller light to do the magic porridge - usually vanilla, but today I used toffee. I've never had any problems with it, it's always come out really creamy and smooth! You need to mix it together really well though, and make sure all of the oats are coated. I also add frozen (defrosted) mixed berries to mine so the little but of juice that comes off them adds a little bit of extra moisture. Was lovely! X

Money is a little tight here too! So I guess that's another good reason to stop in.

Here is the recipe for the Mac 'n' cheese xx


Serves 4 - ready in about 40 mins
Per serving: Syn FREE on EE / Green (Add 6 Syns if not using the Red Leicester as a Healthy Extra)


Ingredients
- 300g dried macaroni
- Fry Light
- 6 spring onions, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 200g cherry tomatoes, halved
- 400ml vegetable stock
- 4 tbsp tomato puree
- 200g fat-free natural yogurt
- 1 level tsp English mustard
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 120g Red Leicester, grated
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Romaine lettuce leaves dressed with lemon juice, to serve

Method
1. Preheat your oven to 200c/fan 180c/gas 6. Cook the macaroni according to the packet instructions, drain and set aside.
2. Meanwhile, place a large frying pan sprayed with Fry Light over a medium heat. Add the spring onions, garlic and cherry tomatoes, stir and cook for 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a wide mixing bowl and add the macaroni.
3. Beat together the stock, tomato puree, yogurt, mustard and eggs until smooth. Pour over the macaroni, then stir in most of the cheese. Season and toss well.
4. Divide between 4 shallow individual ovenproof dishes, sprinkle over the remaining cheese and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until bubbling. Leave to stand for 5 minutes, then serve with the salad

Ooh lovely, thank you hun!! Chicken and sweetcorn soup and beef in black bean sauce have always been my favourites from the chinese, even pre-SW, so it will be good to see how they compare! Have heard really good things about the lemon chicken too so definitely doing that at some point! xx


I really want it but don't go to class anymore, eBay has them but they are going for around £15 which is ridiculous! Might have to go back and rejoin for a few weeks to get the book! Heard nothing but good things about it! X

Ahh, that sucks doesn't it! I hate seeing people selling their SW stuff on eBay at really extortionate prices. Surely it's not allowed? As they're making a (rather large!) profit out of SW.

I'm sure if you went along to a local group you wouldn't even need to join, the C might let you use the shop. You could even call ahead, explain that you're doing SW from home and ask if he/she would mind you popping in to buy a copy of the book? It all looks good on them selling an extra book! Could be worth a try xx
 
Had a really good workout at Combat tonight, one of the best in ages!

I came home and had my tea which was really really yummy! And filled me up after all of that exercise.

Just finished a nice hot Radox bubble bath and I'm going to get my PJ's on and snuggle up in bed with a cup of tea and half of an Easter egg shell. Bliss! Xx
