My head is acting differently to my body, almost like i'm telling myself i'm not loosing, don't know why, maybe it's about self worth or something, i duuno whats been up with me the last few weeks :rolleyes: still totm and i seriously doubt i'm loosing this week... especially with the snack pack of oreos i had yesterday, still they were yummy! :eek:

Hi Rach, we're out of the hospital..and it's just non stop at the moment. he's dependent on the crutches,and can't move without me,so i'm getting him for wee's, getting drinks, passing everything he wants, getting up to get things etc etc... it's just like having a baby again..

Was a bit touch and go, he had breathing problems during the operation, so an 1.5 hours op, turned into a total of 3hours before i got him back on the ward.. he's got plenty of medicine and copying with pain really well, have a few more weeks before he can start doing a bit more, just got to take extra care :)

The sad things about Perthes is, there's always going to be pain, no matter what they have done thats's never going to change, we just have to be brave for them and help them through the best we can!
 
Haven't tracked my food for the last few days, i've ate within the rules and haven't gone mad,have been exhausted the last few days but getting myself back to normal now.

Had a snack pack of Oreo's yesterday..ok, not in the rules but it's totm and i NEEDED them!!..really i did :p not expecting to loose this week, but really hoping for a good week next week as have docs weigh in next monday, so extra efforts must be made!

I've got a few hours off this morning, so i'm nipping into town for some cushion inners and a few new cushion covers, there's a lady who makes the most beautiful cushions i've ever seen :)
 
Your poor little man that must of been so worrying for you, the anesthetic can causing breathing problems with some people, it did with me! Thank god he is over it, its tough when they rely on you again for everything, hope the pain relief is doing the job for him, hard to see them in so much pain!! Its horrible that it will be with them for life, some worse than others. I just keep reminding myself it could be worse, its the only thing that helps sometimes when you see them in pain!! How is your boy feeling in himself? is he fed up or enjoying being waited on? :D Ruth has gone a couple of days with no pain relief needed thank god, as she was having it everyday :( Are you on facebook? theres 6a support group on there for perthes!!

I think you deserved that pack of oreo's, we all need a treat at time esp when you have had all this to cope with and totm, everyone needs chocolate at totm!! I bet your weigh in isnt too bad so dont be hard on yourself, you have had a lot to deal with!!

I very often look at myself and think i look no different and i dont feel like i have lost weight, but obviously i have just cant see it myself!!

Thanks Rach.. How is Ruth doing? He didn't have any breathing problems the last few times under the anaesthetic, so it was worrying!

It's good to have him home though, hes taking 4 different meds, 4 times a day at the moment, so trying i have to make sure if I'm out I'm back within time.

He's copying really well and he's fine in himself really, playing ds etc as usual. Gets a bit worried and cries when it's time to change his dressings and towards the end of the day, he gets a bit tearful but that's just the tiredness I think too.

I'm not on facebook, I was but it got hacked and I've never gone back.

Thanks Kes... having a much better week this week, less stressful and so more more relaxed so getting back into the swing of things :D
 
I know i normally check in with weights on a monday but had interweb problems getting here anyway....

just 1lb off for me this week, always dissapointed at just a pound, but last week was totm,and i buckled at the oreo's plus with my son in hospital it just wasnt a good week, so looking at it, i'm surprised i didn't put it on..

I've also started the 30 day shred, today is day 3, haven't done the workout yet, will soon.

Really enjoying it, it's not too bad although i've got to watch my knees. can tell i worked stomach muscles and my armpits are a little sore, but nothing major.
I've been using beans as hand weights, i should get some proper ones though as cans are awkward to hold and grip.

I also did 10 mins on the cross trainer on monday, but havent gone back to it yet, it's a bit much on my knee at the moment, so i think i'll go back to the bike for a bike.

Can't get a decent sports bra anywhere....seriously nearly blacked my eyes doing the jumping jacks lol!
 
Day 3 of The 30 Day Shred done..I'm not as sore today, and I didn't want to die half way through like i have the last 2 days...jumping jacks I don't go as wide on as i've got to watch my knee,bit of a vicious circle really with the knee, i need to use it to get fit any healthy so they'll look at my knee but at the same time, i've got to watch what i'm doing with it...

Going to take some leggings and vest top back tomorrow, i wanted cropped leggings and i got long ones, the long ones are no good to exercise in, i fancy some new trainers too, hope they have some! :)

B) bran flakes, x1 toast with jam
L) lettuce and beetroot salad, x2 bread. mango chunks
D) broccoli, cauliflower, runner beans, baby sweetcorn

snacks..
x2 pears, x2 tiny boxes of raisins

water..
3.5litres

so far!

Wait till you get fitter and you get the ripped in 30! TOUGH!

You will need the weights (proper ones) for level 3 as you have to hold onto them while in plank position and lift 1 ARM up at a time..

Well done on the pound that's FAB!

I too need new sports bras, and they don't make the ones I have anymore, so I'm going to try out the running and also level 4 sports bra from shock absorber.. they look good and have good reviews.

I'm quite strong in my arms, but i want more tone there than beefcake muscles, you know what i mean lol..

The best weights I would say would be 2kg.....

Going higher won't give you beefcake muscles, as to build muscles like that you need to eat a lot of protein... and I mean a lot...

I eat very little protein, I don't eat the meat and fish...that's one thing I probably lack in..
 
Thats day 4 of the shred done!

Was a bit tired on the second round of cardio circuit, mainly with my knee..didn't give up though!

Loving the strength and ab work, although the last lot of ab work involving the bicycle move, i struggle with, will have to do that move a bit more..

Would like to move up to level 2 for the strength circuits, but i dont feel ready for leaving level 1 yet, especially with the cardio,really don't want to push my knee too much, as it aches a bit at the moment...

i could do level 1 as usual and then go to level straight after but leave out the cardio and just do the strength exercises :rolleyes:

Got some new trainers to exercise in today, they're really comfortable, really getting back in the fitness zone now :D
 
woop woop, love the fitness one in you!! lol
follow the plan, trust me you will want to wait.... build up the muscles, and also get the cardio sorted. :)
 
lol!....once i'm in the zone, i'm like the terminator, nothing will stop me lol!

i agree hun, i should probably get the cardio fully sorted and not need to rest on the 2nd circuit..
although i feel the strenght circuits i don't actually find them challenging, i though maybe i had the positions wrong, but they're right, i think because i'm naturally quite strong and felixible, i could probably push more into strength...

it's totally crazy that i'm capable of doing the splits and kicking someone in the face lol...then being so fat i'd crack a brick in half lol!

i think i may benefit from a knee support, i've got doctors check on monday so i'll ask her...i'm soooo paranoid about weigh in on monday...i'm thinking i wont loose, cos of the exercise and water maybe i'm going to weigh heavier or sts...as i know that can happen, and the doctor doesnt really understand weight loss like we do and i cant afford that to happen...

time for breakfast then i'm going to mow the lawn and tidy up the back garden a bit..
 
well, thats the front garden, weeded, mowed and strimmed and the back garden mowed and strimmed!... time for lunch, beetroot salad today...then back to the shred!...yeah baby!! ;)
 
Day 5 of the shred done!

I'm loving day 5!!..today has been the best day ever for the shred!!..my endurance has more than doubled, I didn't buckle on any of the circuits apart from cardio circuit 1..the jumping jacks, I was 4 from the end of the section and my knee just wasn't going to go... I really wanted to push through, but I can't risk an injury that stops me from exercising at all :(

So I just stopped for those few seconds and went straight into the butt kicks and jump rope..sometimes I have to modify the jump rope, to a fast jog on the spot, again the knee doesn't always like the jump :( but I'm still moving and pushing hard!

Monday will be day 8 of the shred and the plan is..

days 8,9,10,11,12,13,14, another 7 days of level 1...to try and bust through that cardio then..

days 15,16,17,18,19,29,21, level 2 then hopefully if I get through level 2 ok and survive lol

days 22-30 level 3, or do 4 days at level 2 and 4 days level 3.

the kids are going to my mums saturday and sunday during the day, so i'm going to shred twice a day for saturday and sunday morning, and then late afternoon... really got to give it everything this weekend!!

bring it on!! :D

oh note to self... stop looking at the beeping scales, you eejut!!

I've checked the scales today and I've gained a pound, still weigh in day isn't til monday so it doesn't count..but how the hell!! grrr!! damn my body lol!
