trials and tribulations of a serial dieter - returning to s/w

hi donna yes it is relly nice i bought some prunes to have with it but then realised as i'm on a red day today it won't be free not sure how many syns it would be so will have to save them for tomorrow hope ur having a good day xx

hi hun of course you can

1 smallish cup of pudding rice
4 cups water ( use same cup)
put in a large dish and put in microwave for around 15 to 20 mins, i usually take it out after 9 mins and stir it,cook until grains are soft.
while it's still warm add sweetener to taste i put about 5 tbs in.
let it go cold then add 2 or 3 vanilla mullerlight ( i used the lidl one).
i used 2 pots cause i like my rice thick :) then put it in fridge, i don't usually eat it till the next day to give the yoghurt chance to flavour the rice but last night i didn't wait and still loved it, you could add cinnamon or nutmeg to it i'm going to buy a tin of prunes and have it as a h/e to go with my rice yummmmmyyyyyy lol. it doesn't matter what size cup u use as long as u use same cup for measuring the water but a small cup makes a good sized bowlfull, it's free on green and extra easy hope u like it as much as i do x

Wow that sounds good! Thank you so much :) I might even make it tonight!

I bought some of the Kellogg's fibre plus bars today kept hearing people raving about them omg they are delicious very moreish i begrudgingly let my o/h try them luckily he thought they were to sticky yay :)

i love the rice pudding am soooo looking forward it tomorrow with me prunes , i wish tapioca and semolina was free love them as well hope ur enjoying s/w x

It was delicious! All my family tried some too and loved it. Do you ever make it with different flavour muller yogurts? I was thinking of trying it with the vanilla sprinkled with chocolate.

hi hun no havent tried any other yogs with it only nutmeg but i put too much in and it was awful u will have to try it and let me know what u think, another pudding i make that i love is a jelly mousse i use 3 muller light (i like the berry one) and 2 sachets of sugar free jelly melt the jelly crystals in 1 pint of hot water then whisk in the 3 pots of yoghurt so it goes a bit fluffy then put in fridge to set it's soooo yummy although u may have already tried it, i think being able to have these lovely puds makes it a lot easier to stick to. thanks for the reputation that u gave me it is appreciated xx

Sorry to jump on ur diary but GAIL do you have a recipe for ur creamy stew? Sounds fab!

We are all so satisfied with our rice pudding. Thanks Val!! :)
I'll have to try the jelly thing with muller. I'm doing a similar thing at the weekend with jelly and dr known strawberry yogurt. It's yummy and I love the shade of pink it goes!!
I agree these desserts make it easy to stick to plan. It's funny when I'm on plan, either SW or when i was doing WW, I always want a dessert but when I'm off plan I'm not fussed about it.
Thanks again :) xx

WELL DONE VAL !!! I'm so chuffed for you.

Sorry, been out all day. Only just got back. Need to go and eat now :-( (I'm starving !!)

Creamy stew (or sometimes a stroganoff) - syn free

Chicken or quorn
Frylight
Loads of veggies (whatever you fancy - I usually use onions, mushrooms +/- peppers and courgettes)
stock cubes
oregano and whatever other herbs you want to use +/- paprika if you're making a stroganoff
Cook chicken/quorn then add onions. Then add veggies plus a bit of water (not too much)
Boil on the hob for a while (as you can see it's a bit vague my recipe !!!!)
Then after 20-30 mins when it's ready to eat, add a few tablespoons of either total 0% or v low fat fromage frais. Stir in and serve straight away.
If you want to eat the following day, just put in the fridge before you add the yoghurt/fromage frais, heat up and add yog/ff as you serve.

It is delicious and really creamy. Stops me feeling like I'm on a diet. I had stroganoff for lunch today. Yum yum.
Let me know how it goes.

I might be a bit quiet for the next few days as I have lots on but don't worry I will be thinking of you all and probably keep a check on you on my phone ! Will be back early next week at the latest. Hope things continue to go as well for you Val. And fingers crossed for your next weigh in.

Pleasure. Although I got the idea and the basics of (or maybe all of !) the recipe from why_d (I haven't looked at his recipe since - it may the exact copy !). Let me know how you get on.

Well done Val. Remember that even though I'm away this weekend, I'm watching you........!!!! :)
