Vegetarian food diary

Hi! I'm a newbie to the site but not to SW and have been looking for a place to record my day's eats. I'm doing this from home as have very little weight to lose and don't have the time or money to attend a class this time around. I'm putting this here basically as somewhere just to keep a record of what I'm consuming each day. I only have a few pounds to lose but tend to use Slimming World as a tool to maintain my weight when I feel myself liable to 'go off the rails' somewhat, which I usually do once the weather starts to get colder! KNOWLEDGE is POWER!

If you'd like any of the recipes for things I mention, please give me a nudge.

Today (Monday)

Breakfast - Tea w/ soya milk (Part of HEA)
Beans on white toast (Asda cafe didn't have wholemeal! Tsk!) 4 syns

Lunch - 2 chocolate weetabix w/ soya milk (HEB, part HEA + 2 syns)

Dinner- Homemade spaghetti bolognaise, reduced fat cheese (HEA)

Evening- Cup of tea w/ soya milk (Rest of HEA)

6 syns

Tomorrow evening I've got a friend coming over for drinks and I've only got 20 syns left to use tomorrow so wish me luck! Probably shouldn't confess to the massive vile amount I usually drink but hey ho!

Jess. x

Hello!!! I'm always excited by vegetarian diaries, I'm not vegetaian but I have a rather disturbing interest in vegetarian food/cooking lol! The last time I saw 46kg on the scales, I was 11 lol! Wish you the very best on SW and with your food diary, looking forward to learning lots of yummy veggie ideas!

Ooooh veggie diaries are great! I'm a veggie too and always looking for food inspiration ;) Looking forward to seeing what you cook next x

Heyy! Thanks for your lovely comments people, so kind of you to drop by! Sorry I didn't post last night, was a little worse for wear when bedtime rolled around and judging by yesterday's dire diary, you'll see why....Ho hum...

Breakfast- Cup of tea w/soya milk (part HEA)

Morning - Mashed baked beans with marmite and cheese - this is lovely with hot fingers of toast but I was out of bread yesterday(HEA)

Afternoon - Chicken and herb super noodles (98% fat free stylee)
Weight watchers toffee yogurt
Evening - Silly amounts of Carlsberg and Jack Daniels w/ diet coke 41 syns:ashamed0005:

Dinner - Pasta with reamaining bean/ marmite/ cheese from this morning (HEB) - wasn't feeling very experimental for obvious reasons!

Right, well, there we are, I've said it! Today is completely different and so far so good. I shall post up later after band practice. Hope everyone is having a lovely afternoon so far!

Jess. xx

Oooooh band practice?!! What instrument do you play?

Hi Honey, I sing! Well, I use the term loosely since it's a punk band and a little more forgiving vocally. (I'm actually about as musical as a car alarm!)

Hope you're having a Happy Wednesday so far!

Ha! Cheekychinchilla, it was rather! Must admit though, I have been feeling a little delicate today so when band practice was cancelled an hour ago due to 2 members crying off, I can't say I was too disappointed to settle for a bath and an early night instead!

How have you lovely people been doing today? Going to go check out your diaries once I've posted this.

Today's diary

Breakfast- Cup of tea w/ soya milk (Part HEA)

Lunch- Cheese and mushroom omlette (HEA)

Dinner- Spaghetti with onions, mushrooms, asda veggie burger (chopped up since I'd run out of soya mince) and cheese (HEB and 1 syn)

Evening - 2 chocolate weetabix with soya milk and a cup of tea (HEB, 2 syns and rest of HEA)

EDIT: Just got the before bed hunger, probably because I ate dinner at half past four this afternoon, so just nommed some spaghetti hoops.

Total 3 syns. (3/105) A new week so I'm going to try very hard not to exceed it this week. Now where have I heard that before....

Hope everyone's having a great evening. xx

Sounds like a good day! I'm impressed that you can manage your syns over a week - I just can't do it so I go for my 15 a day instead which can be a bit restrictive sometimes.

Well to be honest, I'm not very good at it either! I exceeded by 20 last week oops! The thing is though, I tend to save them up for alcoholic drinks a few times a week as I'm one of those people who can't just have one drink, once I start I can't stop!

I used to be just like that hehe ;) Much better now though, as I get older I tend to not be so bothered about drinking so it's easier to keep in check. Plus I don't like to drink too much these days with other things (hopefully!) going on too ;) x

Good luck with this weeks syns! You can do it :party0011:

Thankies! I'm feeling optimistic, so long as I can avoid the beer monster over the weekend!! Had a mad energy day today and managed to whizz through my to do list. My husband and I moved into our new house over a month ago and still haven't been able to properly sit in the front room due to boxes and mounds of crap everywhere but this afternoon/ evening I've cleared and cleaned the whole room from top to bottom and am now sat at the coffee table typing this. Such an amazing feeling (I know, I know, I'm such a saddo!) being able to sit down 'properly' rather than on the edge of the bed.

Anyway due to being super busy all my eats were quite speedy today with no real 'cooking' as it were...

Breakfast - Cup of tea with soya milk (Part HEA) Egg on toast (1/2 HEB)

Lunch- Linda M Red onion and rosemary sauages with Smash buttery and baked beans, weight watchers vanilla yogurt

Dinner- Batchelors wholegrain creamy tomato and basil pasta n sauce with cheese (HEA)

Feeling pretty stuffed now but I may have some chocolate weetabix later and use up the rest of my HEA milk. If so I'll hop back into update.

EDIT: A friend ended up calling round with a bottle of wine last night so being the considerate soul I am, I helped him drink it, in fact, I actually think I had the lion's share so I'm going to count it as just over half a bottle at 15 syns.

Syns today 15

Syns so far this week (18/105)

Hope everyone's had a great day and has a super groovy evening!

I just saw the Linda McCartney sausages on someone elses thread. Where do you get them? And are they syn free?? :D

Hiya! Yep they are free (and really lovely actually, remind me of something else but I can't place what) I bought them in Tesco but also seen them in Asda. Hope you manage to get hold of some.

Ended up having such a late rushed lunch today due to a very hectic morning looking after naughty horses so was very imaginative and had the same as yesterday!!!

Breakfast- Cup of tea and soya milk (Part HEA)
'Fried' egg sandwich (2 small bread) HEB

Lunch- Linda M Red onion and Rosemary sausages, buttery smash and baked beans

Afternoon - Toffee Muller light

Got a friend coming over in half an hour for a jam session and husband has just gone out to get a bottle of Jack Daniels so we'll see what happens later, I can take a damn good guess!

Made dinner but not had it yet - Baked potato with mince, tomatoes, onions, beans, 1tsp gravy granules (1 syn) and a sprinkling of cheese - HEA

Evening snack - packet of Ryvita minis (HEB)
Syns before I start guzzling whisky - 1 (
Syns after I guzzle said beverage - I have quite frankly no idea at all though it was a rather shocking amount. I'm going to guess at 40 to be totally on the safe side but I really don't know.
(Running total 59/105)

Have a great night everybody, bring on the weekend!

Are the sausages just called Linda McCartney Vegetarian Sausages? But the pic on thy box is the sausages 'surrounded' by red onion and rosemary? Coz I saw some today in Farmfoods and Iceland but I wasn't sure if it was them

I've had my first measure of whisky to calm my nerves before my night out lol. Good ol' Johnny Walker ;) Are you a whisky girl or do you just have it sometimes?x

Ooh sorry, only just seen this. It says 'Red onion and Rosemary' on the box, it sounds like the standard ones you saw. To be honest this week was the first time I've seen them and had to travel to the next town to buy them as I can't get them here but I don't know if that's because they're fairly new. I hope you have some luck finding them because they are without a doubt the nicest sausages I've ever had and double bonus, syn free!

Yeah, afraid to say I'm very much Queen of the Whisky, lean more towards Jack Daniels or a single malt generally. Trouble is I just drink far far too much, only ever with friends at home though as I'm not that keen on going out really - always seem to end up surrounded by irritating shouty people- Ha! How old do I sound?!

Today has been quite uneventful; really tired after staying up late last night so haven't really done all that much today.

Breakfast - Cup of tea w/soya milk (Part HEA)

Lunch- Leftovers from last night's dinner (veg mince, tomatoes, onions, beans, gravy granules (1 syn) with buttery smash and cheese (HEA)

Afternoon- Cup of tea w/ soya milk, 2 chocolate weetabix w/ soya milk (Rest of HEA, HEB + 2 syns)

Dinner- Slimming world chips, baked beans and cheese (HEB)

Evening- toffee muller light

Total syns - 3

Running total -62/105

I actually saw the proper Red onion and rosemary ones today in a Tesco. Will wait till they're on offer ;) But at least I know now, thank you :)

at the moment I have Johnny Walker Red and Black labels, The Black Grouse, Jack Daniels, and a beautiful 12 year old single malt Auchentoshan my friends got me for my birthday :D I love me whisky! So does my fake brother so we often get together and have little whisky tasting sessions :) His wife bought him Johnnie Walker Swing this Christmas and Spice tree the year before. She always spends about £50 a bottle on his whisky. She's a good wife ;)
