What are we eating today?

Well i kinda made it up as i went along really! I used half a celeriac for just me - 250g. Then i pealed it and cut it into chip size pieces about a cm across. I put them into boiling water and boiled them for about 7mins. Whilst they were doing that i had a baking tray with a little oil in the oven heating up - no idea how hot i had it but was quite hot. Then i drained them, tipped them into the hot fat and cooked in oven for about 12mins, turning them twice. They do shrink quite a lot in the oven so don't be put off if you think they look a lot initially! :) Enjoy!

Mmm, lovely! Cool, steak and celeriac chips for lunch then! Thanks!

LOL, the intro to the joys of celeriac. ;)

Apologies for a mini hijack - can we have soya milk instead of cows milk? And can we have those roasted soya beans as a snack?

It's not a hi jack, I think Laura uses soya milk, or could I be wrong. I know someone does.

The roasted ones, probably but I'd look for carb information. I haven't used them because I don't like them at all. :)

Guess i'll try them both later then! Thanks!

I looooooove roast parsnips! Right, I'll be getting off my lazy bum any minute to make lunch!

bleurgh i have to agree with ur oh laura - i didn't like it either! i couldn't get over the thought i was putting beans in me brew! how about adding water to the cream to thin it down a bit? i've been thinking about doing that..

I'll see how i go - will try both. My celeriac chips are in the oven as we speak (V late lunch!) Jim - those photo's are amazing - are you sure they're both of you?

B: sausages and 2 egg omelette
L: peppered steak with buttered spinach, small salad and celeriac chips
D: probably roast chicken with pesto and courgette 'pasta'

Does that sound ok? I think i'm still ok for induction?

yep both me Jar. :)

Cool! well, if that's not inspiration... Did you notice the 'orb' in your 2nd picture?

orb? erm no.... LOL

It's the lighter coloured circle hovering over your tummy. I have certain beliefs (not foisting, I promise) and to me the orb usually shows a loved one thats passed on. Feel free to disregard or see the orb as a mark on the camera lens. ;o) X

LOL, I can't see anything. Anyone else?

erm, My Father died early he was only 60 my age, 20 years ago. My younger brother died 3 years ago from alcohol poisoning. I'm a member of a bunch of dwindling Falklands War Veterans association. Only to be expected at my age I suppose.

I just find it reassuring to know they're there. Anway enough of that, I'm sure there's another forum somewhere for this sort of conversation! Now just to deal with the chocolate cravings!
