What did your LO eat today (weaning)

Well the thing is with Hollie its usually my family who babysits, in laws not even offered! my friends going pick Emily up from school but she said she can't have Hollie, so might ask my other friend next door plus she more familiar for Hollie otherwise OH won't be able to go.

The baby jar thing is ridiculous loads mum's prefer to cook their own foods it is better for them, your entitle to your own opinion especially if you think the jars don't agree with Naomi, everyone's got different views. I don't think its good for babies to only be eating jars but I like the pouches and little pots to jars but I do like the Hipp jars, thy seem better quality and organic. You could make up your own foods for Naomi when your making your own meals just cook a bit extra and freeze them or do bulk cook at the weekend.

What brand of jars do you buy, it could be the brand x

Yeah I'm going to start making a dinner and separating it and mashing it. I used Heinz, or cow and gate. It's not that they don't agree with her, but what it is is when she has a dirty nappy I just don't think she digests them properly but I'll try make more of my own stuff. She had the banana and oats porridge this morning, I tasted it first and it was yum ha ha I swear I if they do an adult one like that I'd have it. I hope you find someone to have Hollie, you should have OH there for support but its hard when there's not a lot of people who you can rely on for childcare. Would you ask the inlaws or is it not an option? x

I will ask them if need be but think they could of offered.

Try Naomi on your own foods and see if their is a difference in the nappies! baby stools are quite soft and can be loose but if you think its not right she could have allergy or something. Are you giving Naomi follow on milk it does give them extra iron.

I always taste Hollie's food, just so I know what's she's eating lol the banana porridge is so yummy!!

Yeah I taste too so I know what it tastes like for her too, Naomi's been on follow on milk since 6 months.

Anyone got any ideas of what I can bulk cook suitable for freezing? Cas what do you give Hollie?

Hope you get something sorted for Hollie sure you don't need that stress on top of everything xx

Hey,

If you go back 2 pages there's some ideas that Becca and Becki's posted for bulk cooking, most of time I cook Hollie's meals from fresh, sometimes I make extra and freeze them. I usually cook different vegetables with chicken or fish or just veg.

Here's a few meals Hollie likes:
Carrots, broccoli, mash and chicken,
Sweet potato and carrot,
Pasta-little bit of lean mince and chopped tomatoes,
Chicken, cauliflower, potato and peas,
Cottage pie,
Cod, potato and green beans,
Cauliflower/broccoli and cheese
Cheesy mash.

I sometimes make Heniz pasta shapes/ spaghetti with mash, which is really quick to make if you haven't got much time.

Going pop to see my friend in a bit and ask her about having Hollie x

I do give teddy jars, more than I'd like to but at the moment he is being funny with things iv made for him and refuses it or only eats a few bites, with a jar he loves them! I prefer giving pouches though and try use them as much as possible but they can get expensive, he prob has 1/2 to 1 jar or pouch a day. If its finger foods he will eat it fine though and has sandwiches etc for lunch. I give him grapes cut in half, you can always peel them too which makes it easier but I don't bother!
I don't mind jars but its not what they should have for every meal all the time. The protein content is so low too, only have like 8% meat in which puts me off abit!
It's upto you what you feed your baby. Jesse lived off jars and pouches I never made anything for him cus I thought that's what you were meant to do and he's so fussy now! Best off getting them into family food as soon as possible x

What I have made up in freezer for teddy at the moment is

Corned beef hash
Cheesy sweet potato mash
Broccoli and cauliflower cheese
Broccoli and cheese pasta
Tuna and tomato pasta
X

Some great ideas thanks ladies, I think I'm going to make some up this week and get some small containers, Naomi tried chicken nuggets too, which she seemed to like but she likes anything so going to try her with as much different stuff as possible xx

If you buy the Heinz fruit or yoghurt pots with lids, that's what I use to freeze things on as they perfect portion size for teddy x

Everyone is each to their own hun, since Amelia has started on food she has mainly had home made . I make a few hours spare on morn do 30-40 pots full of food which is norm around 5 diff meals separated into them an freeze. That way I only have to do it every few weeks. At the no she has gt
Corned beef hash
Chicken veg mash and gravy
Chicken beg and rice
Mash and beans
Tuna mash and beans
In between my own meals now and again she will have a jar or something but really not fussed in them. They have no flavour, so I have jus bought some Ella's kitchen pouches. Jus for emergencies in the cupboard incase don't have nothing else for her if busy etc.
I always use the puddings like the hoop organic etc think they are great, and she has frontage frais and every now again milky bar yogurts as treat

She's doing great thanks hun, she's just about crawling, she's sleeping through 10-12 hours a night, she still has quite a bit of milk I think I'm going to log it go next few days to check. She loves her food though, she's eaten everything I've given her so far I'm just concerned she might not be able to chew things up as she has no teeth yet. How's Amelia getting on? Xx

Awwww she sounds like she doing great hun, Amelia doesn't seem to be Anywer near crawling yet hehe, she is lifting herself slightly on her knees but not moving. She loves her food and eats everything and anything and still loves her milk and loves juice. She is sleeping from 8.30- anything between 6.30 and 8. She has three to four naps a day however she has a nap around 7 for up to an hour and then is fed and goes back down, and someone asked me the other day why do I not jua feed her when she due for the nap and then put her down for the night. So she would be fed around 7 and in bed for 7.30. I though this was maybe a lil early for her age of 8 months
What are your opinions girls?

Teddy goes to bed between 7 and 8 usually about 7.30 he used to have a sleep before his bedtime bottle we did that and started giving it to him before and he goes to bed then x
