Whats for tea tonight?

What kind of curry and gravy paste is that? I would love to try it

It's called dragon brand, I got it in Asda. I'm in Northern Ireland so not sure if all stores have it. There's only 138 calories or so for the whole tub which is 200grams so really low in syns if your just using a small amount.

Thanks, I'm in Belfast I'll nip into asda to get some :) :)

It's great isn't it. The curry's the nicest. I think the gravy is lacking something but it's still lovely. I've worked it out 2 tablespoons is roughly 35g so roughly around 2 1/2 syns. I think.

Gammon steak (all fat removed), cauliflower, sw chips and gravy (1 syn).

That looks lovely. Could you post recipe please? I'm doing it from home and don't get the magazines x

Its delish hun of course I can : The recipe serves 4 if made into walnut size meatballs

500g ex lean minced beef
2 tsp ginger
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp fennel seeds ( made this loads and never used these its fine without)
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric
2 tbsp curry powder
500g passata or liquidised tomatoes
fat free yogurt ( I used Total 0%)
salt and pepper

In a bowl - mix the mince, ginger, fennel, cinnamon, salt and pepper, and chilli. Mould into meatballs and set aside. ( you can make them walnut size I make mine a little bigger as there are only 2 of us).

Place turmeric, curry powder and passata into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the meatballs and simmer for 15-20 mins turning a couple of times until cooked. Remove from heat and then serve.
I used plain boiled rice (will use jasmine next time for a change) then garnish with yougurt. I sprinkled a little dried mint onto mine for effect.

Thank you that sounds lovely. I'll try downsizing the ingredients as there's just me and my daughter and she wouldn't eat that. Will have to nip out and get some more spices. Weekend recipe I think :) x

Yeah that's actually a good idea. Is the ginger needed? I don't really like the taste of ginger but if it wasn't too fragrant in it I would eat it with it in it x

You cant really taste it much as the chilli and the curry make it quite spicy. You could use half the measure as I did with the chilli as I dont like stuff toooooo hot lol x
