20 somethings

Ooh what have you gone for? We're seeing Muse in London tomorrow night so I'm missing out on halloween dress up! Last year Dave and I saw Alice Cooper on Halloween and went as a rather bloody Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. x

Morning ladies :) im currently on a coach to london for my long weekend, should be fun, freezing my butt off though as this bus driver clearly thinks he needs air con on constantly brr :/

Can I be the Halloween version of Scrooge and say I bloody hate it? Lol!

In a surprisingly better place this morning, albeit still fairly unmotivated but I think a relaxing weekend will do me good. Some positive news regarding whether or not we can but the flat I want would be nice though - meeting with the bank tomorrow.

Ooh fingers crossed for you, Clare!

I'm not the biggest Halloween fan. I've never celebrated it and I bloomin' despise trick or treaters! Thankfully I've been living in flats for the past few years so I've avoided them!

Just had sucha yummy snack - I crumbled a double chocolate Alpen Light into a coconut Mullerlight - almost like a Bounty! A nice pick me up to see me through the afternoon between me and the weekend!

I'm not really sure what my plans are. My sister's home from uni until the 30th so I need to see her at some point. I'm off to Southampton for three of my friends' birthdays overnight on Saturday which might be a bit of a SW nightmare. Some planning is required!

I've never been into the whole dressing up bit of Halloween, get away with it now though as its mine and my boyfriends anniversary on Halloween so if we go out its dressed up nicely for dinner rather than dressed as a witch lol. 4 years Wednesday :) out for a meal to celebrate next weekend, will be an off plan evening ;) x

So tired. Got home at about 12.30am last night, had dinner and went to bed...back up at 4.30am with OH as he was leaving at 5.30am and we really hadn't spent so much as an hour together yesterday. Back to bed at 5.30am and up again at 7am to get the kids ready for school.
Out the door at 8.30am, up to MIL by 10am, back down to playgroup for Fia at 12pm and up to my own mother's for 1pm. Back down at 2.20pm for the other two kids.. just in the door and had food.
Bed early tonight! Missing OH now.

I got the syn free Irish Stew in Tesco. It's just a tin labled Irish Stew haha it's Tesco brand, but not the Everyday Value one...syns in that.

Recipe for Irish stew from an Irish gal...
Steak pieces - rinsed and put in a pot of water...scoop scum from boiling water.
20 mins
Add 2 beef stock cubes
20 mins
Add a pack of Beef and Veg soup
20 mins
Add one onion, quartered...it'll melt down to nothing.
20 mins
Add veg...I usually add carrots and turnip.
20 mins
Add equal measures of flour and Bisto powder into a cup, mix in a little water to make a roux. Introduce some of the stew water into the cup and mix. Take stew OFF the heat and pour in mixture, stirring continuously for a couple of minutes before returning to heat.
Add potatoes.
20 mins
Done. Eat, enjoy...just remember to syn the soup packet and the flour and Bisto... shouldn't work out too badly especially since I make this in a huge ham pot and it will make ten servings.

Wow Mandy - busy day! I felt exhausted reading that!

Everyone's gone home from my office already. I'm sitting here trying to write job applications but just not feeling it. Another hour to go before home time. I've been so tired by about 9.30 for the past few nights but consider that a bit too early to go bed - perhaps I need to just go with it!

Holy good God Mandy, how you're still awake is beyond me! Get yourself to bed early tonight, same for you lyricallylittle...nothing like an early night, will be lovely to wake up feeling refreshed at the weekend...it's better being tired on your bosses time than your own haha!

I'm going as Where's Wally, the female version, Sarah. I'm not sure how I feel about the shorts though as they fit fine but they have the most ridiculous elasticated waistband ever which gives me a muffin top that it shouldnt as they're honestly huge shorts...bleddy elastic! I'm also not sure how I feel about horizontal stripes lol. Granted I'm stuck with it now as I went after work to look and everything was sheeeite.

Had a nice day in work though, kids were dressed up...30 mins was a fashion show off their outfits and then they had a disco for an hour. The work that the teacher left for me was all ICT...you can't mark ICT so I got to go home at 2.20pm woop and now it's half term! Gonna bust my ass in the gym next week. I actually feel really lazy doing no exercise today but the heels I'm wearing tomorrow are challenging enough without my thighs playing up lol!

Mandy, go lie down!

Lyricallylittle, good luck with the job applications :)

Jenna, I'm sure the shorts look fine. My brother went to a where's wally party a few years ago, rather odd!

The girl I work closest with is off next week so she gave me my leaving gifts today, very sweet of them. Handbag, purse, scarf and a soap & glory set which I can't wait to use!

You guys don't mind me lurking about here while I'm off plan do you? X

Clare, I am going to hunt you down if you don't stop being silly...of course not lol! Those pressies sound lovely :) Lucky you :) It's especially nice to get wee things that you can pamper yourself with :)

My friends are all going as zombie nurses but we were zombies last year (admittedly not nurses) but I don't really get why nurses were picked as they've no significance to us so I've opted out of the group mentality...I think the idea of being different is partly what's freaking me out about tomorrow haha!

Wanted to say a little hello in here :) I'm Jess, I'm a target member having lost 11 and a half stone on slimming world but use this all the time for recipe ideas and what not! So a big hello to you all :) Jess xxx

Can't go for a lie down unfortunately... no OH to keep an eye on the babs. I will be in bed early though! I have a lovely blazing fire going and some garlic roasties in the oven. Going to do some Linda McCartney sausages and veg with them... starving! The smell coming from the kitchen is making me wanna drool hahaha

Clare... come on now! Of course we want you in here, on plan or off! Besides, would you really go back on plan if you didn't have us to nag you? haha

Jenna, I'm sure the outfit is perfectly fine.. I think we're just overly critical of ourselves right now.

Lyrically, we both need an early night lol

And welcome in Jessikah! Wow, that's some serious weight loss right there. Tell us more!

Ahhh thanks girls!! Oh where to start!!

I'd been big my whole life, I was over weight at 6 and even at 10 had to see a dietician once a week at the hospital cos I was more like a little chubby! I started my first slimming club at 11 but they'd always say oh it's puppy fat shel grow out of it! I never did! My mum was always my main support with my weight an when I was 12 she passed away, my dad was my rock and as fantastic as he was at being both mum and dad, take aways and huge portions became the norm for us, before I know it I'm 16 and weigh 17 stone, I met my partner at 18 and fell pregnant pretty quick, we had a little girl and id gained 2 stone through pregnancy and when she was just 5 months old I fell pregnant again and we had another daughter! Id gained another 2 stone through pregnancy. Then I realised I had to do something about my weight, I was 21 years old and weighed 21 and a half stone, I had my fiancé and my two beautiful girls, but I could barely care for myself let alone my family. So off I went to slimming world, it took me 17 months to lose 11 and a half stone and it was the BEST thing I ever did!! My girls have their mum back and I'm due to get married in 2014! I've also been made the face of fry light and been doing some modelling for them!! Everything is going amazing!! Tips from me are to stay to group, I would never have done it without my consultant and the support from my group. Hope you've all enjoyed my read, didn't realise I'd wrote so much lol xxxx

WOW Jess that is amazing :)

Really well done for what you have done to turn your life around!!!

Which SW plan did you follow? We can all looke forward to seeing you in the new Frylight ads (how did that come about and hope you got lots free?!) Congratulations!!

Clare - please stay and I am with you on halloween, it's never held any interest to me and trick or treaters are just a reason to shut the curtains early and ignore the door

Mandy - I don't know how you're doing it today, I would be ready for bed now!!

Have just watched Jamie's 15 minute meals for the first time and he made a fish sandwich which looks AMAZING!! I don't think it would be SW friendly but that is what tweaks are for. I love cooking and cookery shows but they don't have make me want food that I really should try and avoid

Thanks star!! I do extra easy, have done since day 1, I love speaking to other I
Slimming worlders so it's lush to be on here, ah the fry light thing is exciting, basically they found me on Facebook an rang me and asked me to be the face of the brand, took me to London for a big photoshoot and now they're busy designing all the ads for various magazines, SW mag being one of them so really excited about that! Also found out last week that I'm getting a tummy tuck!! Even more excited for that!! X

Thanks Jenna, I actually made it to slimming world woman of the year top 10 last year and went down to Birmingham for a big awards ceremony which was amazing where Carole wright was crowned woman of the year with her 20 stone weight loss and they have done quite a few of the girls stories in the mag from the top 10 so would love to be in there soon, it's all going on! Xx
