20 somethings

hi girls, ive fallen off the wagon toay and ate the bloody thing as it ran me over :( although i am enjoying my wine :D

I know ciara! I feel officially old! It is on my right hand :( means I get out of the washing up though. Mum got some liquid glycerine for it. A tip she learned from a woman in Barbados so if my hand drops off you know why!

Jenna hun I'm getting a wee bit concerned about you. Stressing over pineapple isn't good or normal. I'm not attacking you darling, just a bit worried.

Scarlet enjoy your night and back to 100% tomorrow.

No, no nothing to worry about this I just over analyze absolutely EVERYTHING the night before weigh in...I literally turn in to a monster in the 15 or so hours before it haha. Plus I think the reason it's pineapple is it tastes too nice to be good for you hehe! Thanks for the concern though :)
Lmao I'm just imagining it to be some sort of witch doctor that your mum ran in to!

I may try fresh breadcrumbs next time see if its better, probably is lol I dont have a blender or anything though so would have to chop it myself so not sure how they would look lol

I'm getting bored of shopping. I didn't even buy anything in Primark. It's just not my night. Did get new trainers for both joe & I in the sales though.

I know this will sound awful but I hate buying for him. He's either an Xl or Xxl and I hate buying things too small 'cause I feel like an absolute cow but what can I do?!

Oh good jenna *squish* i'll let you off then but if you start being silly I'll henpeck you!

Christie i just use a hand blender. They are only about a fiver in Tesco or argos etc. I did one and a half slices for the 3 of us from a 400g loaf. Then spread it out on a baking tray, popped in the oven at gas mark 2 for about 15 minutes. They're not that luminous Orange colour but lovely brown. Yummy. Amazing in the airfryer.

Haha, once mum made my brother drink water boiled with mistletoe berries because she'd heard it cured epilepsy! Haha. They are poisonous. He promptly threw up. Was pretty funny.

Clare, just check the label of stuff he's wearing a lot of and get that size. It must be difficult though. Does he want to lose weight or is he happy as he is? My dad lost weight with mum on sw, he just ate what she did. He went a bit far (got too thin and neighbours thought he was dying) but he has relaxed now and put a bit on so looks right. But if he did want to slim down a little bit you could help each other. If he is happy as he is then he won't worry if you get the wrong size :)

Urgh he's a nightmare fran. He says he wants to lose weight but he doesn't want to follow a plan 'cause he doesn't understand it (not that he's read the book or anything) and keeps going on about 'can I not just have ham salad rolls?'

Yea, you can, but not if you NEED a packet of crisps once a day as well! Urgh. Frustrating!!

I was talking to my friend yesterday about 'following a plan' and I honestly don't think I could lose weight without SW. I know that I eat healthily on it and I can distinguish what is healthy and what isn't but it explains it (once you initially get your head round it) in a really easy way that makes it sooo easy to follow (apart from boozy weekends). I genuinely believe I'll be 'synning' for life.

I understand your frustration with the OH, Clare. My stepdad always says he should lose weight as he snaffles 3 bags of crisps...I give up.

You've got to be in the right frame of mind to really lose weight I think. I've been "wanting to lose weight" for a long time but this is the first time I've ever done it as I reckon it's coz I've got my head in it!

Can't agree more with what you've just said there Jenna, my dad has lost 4 and a half stone in 3 months by following SW but it took a stroke to shock him, he was working too much and eating far too much. It's so easy to fall into a rut and you don't realise what you're doing to your body, I look back at some of the crap I used to eat and wonder how I didn't have a heart attack. X

That's so right ciara, when I was 16, I was 17 stone and my dad and whole family nagged at me for my weight, I was still in school and the more they nagged the more I rebelled, my dad dragged me to SW and I lost 3 and a half stone with my heart not really in it and literally piled it all on plus some after less then 6 months. When my entire family had stopped nagging and id reached 21 and a half stone, that's when I thought, right il do it now! My heart was in it this time and I did it!!

S'ok my mum keeps being naughty and I can't say anything. but today she said she needs to get back on it and after being kinda off plan for 3 weeks she is finding it hard to stop being naughty. Might offer her a food diary which might help, dad's awful though, constantly munching chocolate biscuits and crisps.

Clare next time he says he does maybe get him to come to group. Some nhs trusts give you free membership and 12 free weeks with sw, ww or with a pharmacist. My nhs trust just asks you to have a bmi over 30, not to have been a slimming member in the 3 months prior and to give it your best for the 12 weeks. I went to the gp, asked to be refered, got a letter asking me to ring a number, had a chat with the lady and a few days later got another letter telling me to pop along to class. This way he doesn't need to sorry about the cost and the consultant can explain it fully to him (to stop you wanting to stove his head in) and then after 12 weeks he can either carry on or stop or do it from home but he'd fully understand the plan.

Jess, I'm the same. It is amazing I had no weight related health problems. Your dad has done amazing! Wow!

Wow Jess, my family were so different. They just completely ignored my weight. I was 16 at 16 so I am pretty excited I will soon be in pre GCSE weight! It is strange I feel bigger now than I did then and now I'm an inch shorter to boot!

Really?! My family wouldn't not get off my back, they made a point of it all the time and for me the more they did the more crap I'd eat, was sort of like a **** you to them haha. Are you really an inch shorter? You know whats weird?! When I started SW I was 5ft5 and I'm now 5ft6, shoe has gone from 7 to 5, ring size from P to I, it's crazy where you lose weight?! And I've gained an inch in height haha! That's amazing that ur going to be pre GCSE!! Huge milestone!

I know what you all mean, I could never do it without a plan. It's so difficult trying to figure out what's good for you and what isn't now.

I'm hoping one day it'll just click for him but who knows. I wonder if he'd mirror my diet for a week to see if that kick starts him.
