20 somethings

People still think my mum is a lot younger than she is. My dad too. There have been a few occasions where people have thought he's my partner though! We stayed in a castle near Durham once when picking my sister up from uni (totally treating me - I felt like a giddy 5yr old!) - separate rooms but had dinner together in the restaurant that night. We got the sense that staff weren't really sure what to make of us and there was a lot of whispering going on. The following morning I was meant to meet him in the restaurant for breakfast, but I couldn't see him. One of the staff asked if they could help and I said I was looking for my dad - there was this clear moment of revelation on her face and she went "Ohhhh! Your dad!!" - everyone seemed a lot happier dealing with us after that!

On that little anecdote, I'm off to bed. Sleep well everyone!

Thanks Fran, I've tried to plan some pretty decent meals etc to ensure I'm full enough not to snack on syns, but if I'm hungry I will have a few, as you say, that's better than a(NOTHER) binge ;-)

Haha I had a few funny looks when away recently as my parents were there any my Dad and I went to the cinema together and then for a meal but it's not like you can walk around with a t-shirt on saying that's my dad :)

Camz sounds yummy, especially the steak.

Nite nite lyrically.

Well my kettle has finally finished boiling so I am finally able to make hot water bottle and am very sleepy as normally in bed for 10 so off now for real!!

Sleep well all and speak tomorrow. Bring on my first syn free day in forever :) x

Night girls.

I love the "he's my dad not my lover" stories. I'm now wondering if anyone thought that about me and my dad on Wednesday! Haha, probably not.

Laura, what is your quiche filling? If it has no meat then Monday could be a green day so bonus healthy extras!

Good planning. :) no more beating yourself up though lady!

Tomorrow is Bacon and mushroom omelette, lunch is left over lamb biryani, dinner is pork chop, roast potatoes, and a mound of veg. Looking forward to meat after 2 green days.

looks like my syn fee days are catching on. Haha. It is my way of getting away with peanut butter kitkats... God they are good. damn back to chocolate dreaming.

Morning girls. Woke up at 9:15 and monkey wasn't up so obviously I think he has died in the night. I open the door and he grabs cow-cow, jumps up and yells "cuggle" in one swift move. Haha.

Looking forward to my meat filled day, and I think we will pop out for a wee walk if it stays nice this afternoon. Anyone got any nice plans? Hope all yesterday's wedding goers are good :)

Lol, I am the same with my OH, I always get up before him and at weekends he is getting up later and later and later so when it's getting on for 11 I am thinking I really I should go an see if he is dead!!

It's so unlike me to stay in bed past 8 that this was a real treat :)

I am not going to bother with breakfast today as I am not hungry but for lunch it's going to be omelette with mushroom, bacon, tomatoes and spinach and my HexA of a mix of cheese and milk, tea will be fish and chips with mushy peas. Am I right in thinking that mushy peas do not count as super free? I am assuming not so will be snacking on fruit through the day and will have 2x Rocky Road HiFi Bars at some point as my HexB.

I have no plans for today other than clean clean clean but my back is killing me so I can't do that just yet. My back has got worse since I aggrivated it with 30DS but the bed I was in last night is crap so I think that doesn't help, I am hoping once I lose weight it'll get better as I am basically carrying around another person and that pressure will do it no good esp as I do have a really small frame being a short arse :) I think my final weight (still have to decide it) will leave me between a size 8 - 10 because I am so short I will still look healthy rather than skinny and I still want to keep some curves as I don't want to look like a boy!! ;)

Morning all! Looks like I missed a good night of chat last night, was out with friends at an all you can eat Chinese (handy hey? Lol) but didn't go mad, had a few synful things but kept control and for main had boiled rice and chicken chow mein. Everyone else was saying they felt sick from eating so much so I felt rather smug that I stopped at just the right time :)
Love the wedding/name stories. Emily sounds like you'll be celebrating next year too then! Eek how exciting! One of our friends last night found out from another friend about my "next year" note in the anniversary card and started to cry she was so happy lol bless her! Mike sat there grinning as me and the girls talked about it so he obv hadn't changed his mind yet :D
I would go from alderton to butler and I actually can't wait to have his name. Be nice not to have to spell my surname constantly! I have 3 brothers and 2 of them are already married so I know there isn't the danger of the name not being continued.
As for the actual wedding neither of us are religious so we know it will ve a civil ceremony. To be honest I've already pretty much planned it so as long as he agrees all will be fine haha!
Todays plans are nice ones (my phone at first changed nice to nude which may be more fun but slightly inappropriate with company! Haha) my brother, sister in law and nephew are coming round for lunch so I'm doing a roast. Haven't seen them in about 4 weeks and my nephew is now 8 months old and commando crawling so excited to see him, hes so cheeky :)
Hope you all have lovely days xx

Well done for making those good choices Scarlett, the only way I could have resisted is by not going haha :)

If he asks you next year do you think you'd do it next year? I love the fact you'll both want a similar thing and how you pretty much have it all sorted in your mind...sure you're not tempted with Don't Tell The Bride and getting the BBC to pay for it ;)

Nude plans are sometimes just as good as nice plans haha but would have been a bit odd with your visitors lol sounds like you've a really nice day planned so have fun. It must be lovely to have you nephew round, I wish my brother would hurry up and decide he wants to settle down rather than keeping 'having fun' as I want a neice/nephew to spoil and play with!

Haha I've got my OH addicted to Don't Tell The Bride! I've even come in from nights out to find him watching the marathons of it! He always says he thinks he would do all of it really well except picking the dress as he wouldn't have a clue - and neither do I to be fair!

I don't think I could be sensible at a Chinese buffet. I love everything that's terrible for me, like crispy fried chilli beef, battered pork balls, prawn crackers, battered kung po chicken... Batter it, fry it and accompany it with a super sugary sauce and I'm your girl! Just best avoided for me so it sounds like you did amazingly well!

My brother is a year younger than me and nowhere near settling down! He has a brilliant gf who's a couple of years older but they're both very fun loving. She's finishing a PhD and he's just starting out in his career so I don't think I'll be hearing wedding bells or the pitter patter of tiny feet anytime soon!

No real plans today. We'll go over the road to see OH's Nanna for a while, back for a roast dinner and then I'll drive us home later tonight. Currently waiting for the OH to finish faffing in the bathroom so I can get up!

OH is working today so no real plans other than i have to go out at some point because we are nearly out of gas and it will be a cold night if i don't get some and we need guniea pig food.

On the subject of the coil last night i had it as an emergancy after a condom split, and a very snotty nurse told me condoms weren't safe and pushed me into it. condoms aren't safe in my case most of the time because i'm allergic to latex and non latex ones suck. I had it for about a 2 months before demanding it was removed due to the pain, they then pushed me to take the mini pill i knew one make me sick, that lasted a month before me and the OH decided we would try for a kid, i got pregnant with Nathaniel who i sadly lost early, a month later.

If they attempt to get me to use anything other than condoms after this one is born i will be sayin no no matter what. Plus we want kids close together so it wont really matter.

Wedding dress wise, you will know when you find THE dress, i ended up with one very different to what i thought i wanted and loved it the second i saw it.

Haha mine says he hates DTTB but then when I have it on he is pretending not to watch but I know he can't stop watching haha

I think I would find wedding dress shopping really hard as I am short so long ones would swamp me but I'd not want a short one so I would pity my OH if he had to choose as I am fussy with what I will wear at the best of times.

Lots of roast dinners today and they all sound good, I haven't had one for ages as I can't be bothered with the pots afterwards!

I am mildly alergic to latex too but just put up with it as you're right the others are rubbish and expensive. I would love kids now but it's not the right time so I will do all I can to stop it but I won't even go back on the pill, My OH is terified I will get pregnant if I so much as think about sex now I am off the pill and that is driving me mad as frankly I may as well be single in that respect but the moods it puts me in I will never take any hormone based anything ever again as I feel like a new person in the year since I came off it. I refuse to go to the Drs/Nurse because of the attitudes at lots of the staff and hate to hear others have had similar experiences.

I am pleased to say I have now cleaned the bathroom and one of the bedrooms so my body magic for the day is building up nicely :)

Star Mates Skyn condoms are the only ones i will now use they are amazing for us latex allergy suffers, they are as strong as latex, don't feel like a carrier bag and go on easily, also never broken one. Tend to see them on offer alot as well so there not majorly expensive.

good on you for the body magic i'm still curled up on the couch, don't plan on moving till this afternoon if i can help it lol.

the only thing with dont tell the bride is that you get 12k to spend- I dont think I could spend that much! plus mikes best friends brother got married on there so theyve already done an episode in our little town. Im sure mike would do a good job with it, he has good taste and very similar to mine but also we want a small wedding as he is quite shy and doesnt like the showy side you get with some weddings. Just immediate family and close friends so i reckon will be around 60 people for the entire day and evening. I'm not one of those people who want to invite everyone i know, for me its our day and we want the people special to us to share it, why should I invite aunties, uncles and cousins who I only see at funerals?

cant really contribute to the condom talk as i've been on the pill for years and never had any issues with it.
need to get my backside in gear now and get dressed to start cooking! have a good day everyone x

Ladies shimmy up please, I need a spot on this wagon ;-) am in the gym and walked here (20 mins) just did a 50 min workout, am getting ready to go for a swim, an am walking back (another 20 mins!)

When I eat home I am going to make a big batch of SW quiche to have for lunches with veg this week, and to snack on between gym and home. I'm really excited, hoping for damage limitation this week, but if not I am really pleased to be back in the right frame of mind long term!! Xx

I will have a look for those then sweet, thanks for the tip :) You have a very good reason not to get of that sofa all day so enjoy it and whatever else you fancy! How's the morning sickness? Hope you're starting to fell better.

Just seen your post Camz, how great to see you're back on track so quickly :)

Fran when I was 14/15 I remember weighing 7.5stone so I am basically losing the 14/15 year old me as I will need to lose between 6 and 7 stone! Which is pretty amazing when you think of it that way. I miss the 14 year old care free me who had no worries and had just had a new puppy :)

I love wedding/baby/nate talk on here, I even enjoy the poo/preiod debates

I was just having a look through the off topic section and saw a thread called Which members motivate you the most (Jess and Jo - go have a look...;)) and I think this is a great idea, I would say all of us on this 20 somethings are brilliant and now I am back on here and speaking to you guys and getting support and positivity it is making such a difference to me and for that I cannot thank you all enough. Not wanting to single anyone out but Fran you're amazing and I know that you'll always know just what to say and love how you sense of humour comes across but everyone is great

I know what you mean about moods on the pill. They tried me on a few because I was getting so down. I would stop taking it when I was single and then it became such an effort to get it when I was no longer eligible for the youth clinics that I just stopped altogether.

I thought about the implant but only one person I know has had success with it - the rest have had months of spotting and all my female cousins have put a lot of weight on. I think we must be quite sensitive to hormone changes (even though health professionals say you don't gain weight) because, as my mum put it, we "balloon"!

A friend had the coil fitted about 6 months after me and she found it incredibly painful too. Medical staff are always very surprised that I still get periods - it seems to stop them for most.

I have a load of titanium holding my lower back together so I need to get this extra weight off too. The OH says I'm approaching my BMI all wrong because my spine has broken and slipped down in front of my lower spine so I should be at least a vertebrae taller! The way I see it I still have less height to distribute weight over.

I know what you mean about wedding dresses and being short! My friend reminded me that the wedding dress models, aside from being tall and airbrushed, are made to stand on boxes to show off the full length of the dress. I love lace detailing but if it's focused at the bottom then it's all going to get cut off to fit my short arse body!

Welcome back to the wagon Laura! Sounds like you're pretty much pulling it along with all that Body Magic!

That sounds like a lovely thread. This little group does wonders for me - it does really help having people of a similar age, even though our lives are all over the place. It's great for me having a group between group - and I'm sure it's even better for all of you doing it online!

I second the cheer for Fran! There are also a couple of guys in the Weds Weighers - Dukesy and gavster - who are just lovely and have done amazingly well. It's worth having a look at their stats on a fed-up day!

100% agree with everything you have just said lyrically.

But also now I know I want kids in the next few years I don't want ot go back on to something thats hormonal as it can take a long time for your cycles to get back to regular so when trying for children becomes a reality I don't want to be waiting ages for those reasons.

I actually think I have shrunk since getting big as I used to be 5'4 but now I only just scrape 5'3 so I am hoping the extra inch comes back to me too x

I'm the same with shrinking an inch. I used to be 5'6", I'm now 5'5" I measured myself again yesterday and my mystery vanishing inch hasn't returned. Woe.

What I like about our wee group is that it isn't hay about weight. In the 16s to 15s people didn't give a crap, I tried to he encouraging and others were just saying what they lost and would post nothing until the next weeks weigh in. Really annoying, though I should be out of that room this week! Ha. Gazter has lost so much so fast, he was in the lots to lose room too, and generally posts a pot everywhere it seems. Bless him.

Star I was probably double your weight then! You are very sweet but if you keep up complimenting me I will get a big head!

Lol at Laura pulling the wagon! Full sped ahead so no one can jump off and run into the cake shop. Ooh, battenburg... I could eat a whole battenburg I love it so much, surprising as it contains no chocolate... Damn it.

When Nate goes to bed I have to poke the cockrels foot, he might have bumble foot. Blurgh. Glamourous huh? Then feed quails and move their hidy holes around, pop the washing in the drier, vacuum the kitchen, hall and lounge then jobs are done :) he is playing with a new toy today (new as in he hasnt used it before it isn't new) so he is happily occupied at te moment. It was his cousins favourite toy.
