29 Stone Start Weight Diary by Lou

Amazing diary - well done on your weight loss to date - you are so inspiring, am subscribing to your thread and off to research 1 mile walk with Leslie sansone x

thank you :)

leslie sansone is brill!! although ive started walking out in public now, scary but it was actually ok!

i ordered some trainers (havent had a pair for about 15 years!!) and they came today. i am going to get my moneys worth and walk regularly. im starting off with once a week, but i will build it up. i feel like it will give me a good boost. i need that at the mo, ive had a terrible few weeks meaning ive gained a bit, but not that much so im working hard on getting it off.
still aiming for my 4 stone mini goal, this stone is taking ages to get off! im hoping to get there by the end of march, and then by then im hoping to be walking at least twice a week and well on my way to better fitness.

it gives me a push up the backside when people say im an inspiration, coz at times i dont feel like one! i think i should be my own inspiration. i was thinking today that when i turned 30 last month, it was the first birthday where ive not weighed my age. i know ive said it in my thread but i was thinking it wass a fantastic acheivement, to finally going in the opposite direction. i could so easily have been 30 stone at 30, but now i am nearing 25 stone something, and although thats huge its like ive gained back 5 years of my life. and i probably have in terms of health and that feels great! x

You are a huge inspiration - I lurked on here for months feeling so overwhelmed as to how to even start loosing weight and reading about people who had lost 10, 12 and more stones and just feeling it could never be me, I couldn't even get through a day. Seeing people that had lost weight but then reading back and realising it wasn't a miracle it was one little pound at a time made me believe that I might be able to do it.
Also sharing things like not wanting to walk in public - when I started swimming I'd go to a pool miles away rather than risk being seen by someone I knew or I'd only try jogging on a little back road where I knew no one would ever be, in fact I walked the back roads too - the less people that knew the better. We all have common insecurities and fears - but we can break every single on of them.
Enjoy your trainers, I hadn't owned a pair for years either - now I have four & they are all a bit smelly, slightly dirty, scruffy out on the road trainers - no posing trainers in sight :D.
I also find that once you break into the next stone barrier you'll fly the first half of it - it really motivates you to go for it. So come on girl.

I'm definitely back in the game now :) thank you for your support everyone, it is fantastic hearing that I'm helping other along my own journey. I guess that's why I started the diary. For my own good and for others my size to see it can be done.

I'm looking forward to weigh in tomorrow - I've had a good week.

Today I'm having a yog for breakfast, not sure what for lunch and turkey biryani for tea.

How strange :D but ok!!

Mine is always the natwest app, I'm forever expecting an accidental million to land in my bank account!

It's 4.29 and my sons alarm went off, he must have changed the time on it, I've woken up and now I'm starving :| gonna be a nightmare getting back to sleep!

I woke up at 8, got up got dressed and got out! I walked 2.5 miles in the rain. No one was about, I could sweat and pant and swear and complain and it was brill :)

I didn't get out last week coz I was full of cold so today was the first time I went out in my new trainers and trousers.

I haven't worn trousers for aggggges so it was a bit odd, and I haven't worn shoes (not boots) for years so that was odd too!!

My thighs didn't rub which is brill but the trousers kept riding up.. I can live with that. My laces were to loose so I had to get joe to tighten them coz I was not bending that far down in public!!!!

Weird thing though, my fingers get really swollen when I walk for long distances. Well further than round the house. All the blood flows to my finger tips and really hurts. Any tips anyone?!

I definitely wasn't suffering as much as I would have done 6 months ago. 3.5 stone is ALOT of extra weight to carry around. We recently plastered our bathroom and had a 25 kg bag of plaster and omg wow it was HEAVY. I couldn't even lift the half full bag!!! And I've lost nearly 25 kg so no wonder I'm not as out of breath and I'm able to walk further and faster. I'm not carrying that round anymore! That's defo given me a proper boost to get more off!!! If anyones despondent about their losses, I recommend popping to wickes and feeling the weight you've lost in relevant bags of plaster or top soil Etc!! It's quite amazing :)

You are doing amazingly.

Well done. Keep it up xx

AWh! You are doing fab! Glad you are feeling better than last week. If your fingers hurt I think you may have Reynaud's (I have it) my fingers go white and numb in the cold (sometimes not even when it's cold) and when the blood starting flowing again that's when my fingers hurt, it can be quite painful. I wear gloves whenever I can as it seems to help a little. If it isn't that it could simply be you blood circulation is getting going from the exercise so I wouldn't worry too much but do try wearing gloves or mittens and see if it makes a difference. I really am full of admiration you went out in the rain too!

That was great to read Lou, I am proud of you! Yes 25kg is a bloody lot! Like seriously, one pound of fat is over a handful. So you have over 50 handfuls of fat - that is incredible.

When I realized how much 1lb of fat is, losing one pound in a week suddenly seems pretty awesome.

You are doing amazing - love that you wouldn;t bend over in public - when I am at soft play with my 3 year old and I have to bend over I can literally feel myself burning with embarrassment ... but not for much longer

25kg is massive well done to you - well done on walking in the rain - you are a braver woman than me!

I just wrote a big long reply to this but it wouldn't send and then disappeared :-(

So ill sum it up by saying....AWESOME HUN!!! Well done you! :) xxx

Argh it does that to me all the time. Now, when ever I write something on here with my phone I copy the text and if it doesn't send I can paste it and try again.

Also, thank you :)

I'm itching to get out again this week, once a week isn't enough, so I think I'm going to add a mid week walk. I will do it tomorrow and from next week I'll do it every Thursday coz I don't have to take my son to school on Thursdays, his grandad takes him. So I can just get up and go early :)

It's so weird that I want to go out walking!! I think it's coz I know it's not as awful as I expected and I enjoyed how it made me feel. Plus it's boosting my weightloss and I need that! Gonna work out how to get the music back on my iPhone after I updated it, then I can match along to Mumford and sons and try my hardest not to sing along :)

Xx
