A diary of a slimming world consultant

Hi nikki, my advice is just be yourself and show them how passionate you are about sw and how it has helped you good luck x

Roanne put her Facebook id in her post which Minimins removed but before Mini's removed it Vicky posted she couldn't find her and asked a question. If you go into your profile you can put your Facebook id in there and it will show under your name so there is no need to put your Facebook id in your post.:)

Roanne, will be away for a month due to being banned. She just wanted you to know she wasnt ignoring you xx

Just managed to catch up with all the posts.

8 weeks in and still going strong :D

I took over my group on the 7th of May and didnt fast track, but i didnt expect to. The former consultant didnt do much promotion and her heart had not been in it for a while.

I hit stage 1 and I was on 25% for 6 weeks. Earning were: £47.82, £38.05, £102.50, £45.44, ££47.95. On week 6, i got 52 paying members and hit stage 3 and went to 45%, which meant i earned £128.73 that night.
The following week my numbers fell and i went down to 40% earnings were £58.96 due to countdowns being bought the previous week. Last week i earned £67.

The group sits between 43 and 52, numbers are down due to holidays mainly. Some are absent but new members coming in replace some of them.
I have between 66% and 76% staying to IT. Before i took over only 45% stayed. Its a little daunting but i am finally finding my "groove" :D

It is time consuming but if you can manage your time well, you can do this.

The next campaign in August is where i will be going for it.

Before then, days 5&6 training take place on the 10th&11th August, im hoping that these 2 days will improve my IT and help me deal with some of the members i struggle with.
For me its not about the money so much as being able to help people live a more healthy life, physically and emotionally.
There is nothing better than sharing in their weight loss journey, when someone suddenly realises that they dont need to be so hard on themselves and you have played a major role in helping them see that, its priceless.

If you are hoping to ditch the day job, you have to put in the effort to make that a reality. Slimming World will help you do that at a pace that suits you.

My group has grown from 38 members to 52 in 6 weeks, i didnt think that was possible and wish i had believed in myself more.
End of July, i want to get the numbers up, 60 i would be happy with but if i can go double session i will be over the moon.

If you truely want something, go out and get it. We tell our members that, its up to us to take our own advice xx

Thanks for posting cazwalden! Sounds like things are going great. I'll be really happy if I can get to where you are. I'm so nervous about standing in front of everyone. Losing weight has helped me gain so much confidence but the old doubts creep in from time o time. Are you happy with how things are going for you? You must be so proud to be helping people.

Are you taking over a group or starting a new one?
I went to meet the group i'm taking over on 1st August last Monday, new venue and new night on go live day and they were all friendly, makes it less daunting:)

This time next week we will be in our Hotels, very excited:D

Hi Gary,
How are you doing? I'm taking over an existing group but changing venue and day. I'm going into the existing group a couple of weeks before my go live day to meet everyone. Am so excited but it is kinda scary! Only a week until HO, looking forward to getting up there! How are your diplomas going?

Hey all. Im now well into my 15 day promotion but getting great feed back. My editorisl was in my local paper today. Rather embarrassing as basically took a whole page. My group relaunches in 12 days. Everytime i think im ready i think of something else i need to do.
Good luck all going for it xx

Congrats on getting your editorial in the paper! You must be so excited now. How is your promotion going? You getting everything that you planned to do done?

Im good Rachel,
I would go and meet your group as soon as you can, sort out the social team etc and make sure everyone knows about the changes:)

Finished my last Diploma tonight, just got my Editorial to do this weekend and im all ready for Derby, 7 more sleeps ha

I am excited i must admit. The promo is very hard work i will admit. Postering is a mare as no one wants posters on their windows but have managed about 30 so far. 2nd week of leafletting on sunday managed 1300 last week and aiming for a 1000 this week but only been 2 of us doing it. Help is hard to come by lol. Xx

I was sooo nervous the first time i stood up in front of everyone, but once i found my voice i couldnt stop.

I still suffer with self confidence problems, especially when the group dont seem to participate much and i find myself repeating the same questions. Hoping days 5&6 will help with that though.

I am over the moon about how things are moving along. Numbers have dropped off a little but they have across the team so i know its not me. I get in touch with every single person that didnt show and see if i can find out why.

I have 3 ladies who are struggling, mostly through self doubt at being able to lose the weight that has taken so long to put on but with the experience my journey has given me, i am able to reassure them they will lose it.

I now had 3 guys in the group, we only had one before. They are great, they bring a whole new outlook to the group.

I did my month end on Wednesday and this month the group lost 236lbs !! Last month it was 198lbs, so yes, knowing i played a part in that has given me a real sense of pride.
We also won Best Warm & Friendly Group in May, after only 6 weeks in group.

My advice is, meet the group, be yourself, let your passion and commitment shine. Get to know the social team, meet them for coffee if need be. They will be your lifeline.
I was fortunate to take over my group and the pay & weigh ladies already knew me. I have grown the social team from 2 to 6. I have pay, weigh, shop, admin, raffle and body magic ladies. All have t-shirts and badges and all have a role to play which helps tremendously. Make sure you have help to pack up afterwards. Lable your boxes, i have 3, 2 for my shop and 1 for pay. I have a tea/coffee box and a small interest table box.
On the shop boxes i have what goes in each box so i dont have to sort through to find my stock.
Print off a stock sheet every week so your shop person can write down what you have sold, makes life so much easier when you come to do your upload.

Print off your before picture and use it when you do your commitment talk, even my group didnt remember me at my biggest. And when you use it during your NMT, it gives them hope that they can succeed.

I write a prompt card every week, i always forget about something though, usually Team Fun Tech lol
Welcome, Awards, Total Loss, Group News, SOW/SOM, raffle etc

I hope that helps a little. It is daunting, but once you get your first night out of the way, it gets easier :) xx

I had trouble with posters too, i basically carried them in my bag along with leaflets and asked in every shop i went into lol

I even resorted to posting magazines in hairdressers i passed when i was out leafleting :p

Taxi offices, take-aways, chip shops and local community boards are really good places to try. One of the girls i was on training with had more success with chip shops than you would realise.

I have posters in my car and my social team have them in theirs too. Supermarkets will put them up but usually only for a couple of weeks which is great when you are promoting a relaunch.

Good luck xx

Interview this afternoon, bit nervous but excited and hopefully if I pass this stage I will be up and training very soon :)

All the very best:)

Just be yourself and show them how much you love SW.
You need to show that you are not judgemental and can empathise.
They will probably ask what was your lowest point and how you felt before joining Sw.
