A yummy (and happier and healthier) mummy - for good this time!

Thanks girls! I needed that rant and im pleased to know it's not me being unreasonable!

We said the niece could do a small reading (like a simple poem or something) and were told it might not be suitable as she could get nervous.
Then were told we need to make it special for her as she has never been a bridesmaid before...
Errr HELLO!! Ive kinda never been a bride before (nor do i intend to again!) but she could be a bridesmaid again...
I just don't wana come across as a bridezilla and MIL knows i don't like too much attention so probably thinks she's doing me a favour!

Rosie- i think I'm hooked on the porridge! I used to hate it as a child but now i could easily want to have a green day so i can have it twice!!!

It seems to me as though you can't win with MIL Lisa!
You try & make her important but then that equals pressure! Instead of a reading could you give her a 'job'?
Something 'important' to do that Reece might be too young for, but that won't put too much pressure on..
Or maybe get her a small thank-you present to make it special- a little engraved box or something she can keep.
The bananas aren't ripe enough for my porridge so I think I might save it for tomorrow! Proper comfort food though x

Had an off day yesterday- went out for a meal for h2bs birthday with a big bunch of our friends (his actual birthday is tomorrow).

I was going to be really good and on plan until the evening but i failed miserably. Might as well confess the damage in case i have a gain tomorrow...

Off plan again today- seems to be my trend to be off plan for a whole weekend! But it is a celebratory weekend for h2bs birthday!

Went to the cinema today and saw into the woods- i really enjoyed it but went in knowing it is a musical or it would be a shock!

Big lack of superfree :( Need to get more veggies into my meals!

Woops! Forgot to update yesterday- my maid of honor came around last night for a catch up and didn't leave until gone 11pm and i just wanted my bed by then!!

Need advice though- she's moaning because she thinks all the bridesmaids (inc her obviously) need a hair and makeup trial as well as me- i haven't heard of the bridesmaids having one before and cant spare the expense to be honest but am i being unreasonable by saying no.
It seemed nothing i said for the bridesmaids was suitable for her. I want the BMs to have their hair up (easier to manage and maintain for the day) but she wants it down.
I want kitten heels (considering one of my BMs is a complete tomboy and never wears any kind of heel and i don't want her to fall over) but she wants skyscrapers as she can walk in them...
And I'm stuck having my hen do in my home city.

Anyway! Oops i ranted a little there!! Weddings definitely spread the crazy!

Tricky one with with your maids Lisa; I've told mine they can have their hair how they want and choose their own shoes, because I've chosen their dress. I know some have got shoes already. Is it important to you that they all match? If so you might need to put your foot down in some sort of compromise (could you have higher heels & buy some cheap flats- home bargains have roll up shoes just £2.99 for them to slip on if they get uncomfortable?).
They certainly don't need a trial (unless they're paying for it!). Mine are paying for their own hair & makeup though (unless by some miracle there is money left in the pot!).
Why are you stuck to your home city?
Is there a train even to a small town you could go to for a change? Feel for you :-( had a wedding mare myself yesterday! X

I would say no straight away to the hair/make up trial if she is really awkward can you just say it is not the in budget Not sure how she could argue with that?

Maybe with the shoes/hair up down you could compromise on one of them - whichever is the least important to you? If you really want everyone to have matching hair maybe let them pick their own height heels on shoes as long as they are a matching colour?

The annoying thing is that i know my MOH wears her hair up all the time for work! Ive known her since we were 5 so i know she's just being awkward as shes always been attention seeking.

I have said she can have her (and my other BMs) can have their hair however they want as long as its up- i honestly dont think that is unreasonable.

I could let her have complete full control over her outfit and hair and she'd still be unhappy.

And we are having my hen in my home city because she wants to- she said its easier for her and less work. Im just worried that I'll end up bumping into people i know and it will just be a regular night out.
