A yummy (and happier and healthier) mummy - for good this time!

Maybe i am being too bridezilla but im sick of people trying to take charge of the wedding!

With my MOH, MIL (also inviting people to the evening without consulting us!) and my auntie kicking up a fuss (Ive invited her ex-husband who was my uncle for 17 years! I still consider him my uncle even though they are divorced. They get on but she still kicked off) i just feel like i have no control and need to put my foot down.

The annoying thing is that i know my MOH wears her hair up all the time for work! Ive known her since we were 5 so i know she's just being awkward as shes always been attention seeking.

I have said she can have her (and my other BMs) can have their hair however they want as long as its up- i honestly dont think that is unreasonable.

I could let her have complete full control over her outfit and hair and she'd still be unhappy.

And we are having my hen in my home city because she wants to- she said its easier for her and less work. Im just worried that I'll end up bumping into people i know and it will just be a regular night out.

How selfish of her, what an utter shame.
Do you need me to have a word ;-)
Its a pity but in your home town could you do something to make it more special? Even if it means arranging it yourself. Revolution to cocktail master classes, some bars have 'VIP' areas you can call ahead & book- if you mention its your hen party often you'll get a bottle of fizz thrown in.
Look up bars that you might not usually go into so it feels different?
Re the hair, I don't think that's unreasonable at all, just 'up' leaves plenty of options. Could you make a bridezilla joke and tell her firmly? X

I think i may have to with the hair- i too think just saying "up" leaves a lot of wiggle room for them to figure out what suits them and hides any insecurities.

As for shoe height- we are going BM shopping on the 7th Feb with my other adult BMs so i may let them decide as a majority rule.
Im having kitten heels- easier to walk in (especially as my venue has gravel and grass outside where I'd like a lot of my pictures taken!)

She has assured me it wont be a "normal" night out so i can just hope (and drop hints to my other BMs who i have asked to help with the logistics of it all).

Hello lovely!
How are you? Are you feeling any better?
As for your wedding issues, i'd say... your wedding, your choice and if your BM doesn't like it then tough! xxx

Shoot me now!!

Ive got my MOH sending me pictures of how she wants her hair now! And they are all pictures of brides so are super complicated up do's with multiple curls and a lot of work- not easy for one makeup artist/ hairdresser to do in one morning! Argh!

Sorry i keep ranting on here but i feel like im going to explode! Normally i'd rant to her but now she's the issue!

And the response i got back is " i thought I'd give you and idea of what youd like"...

Some low syn days recently Lisa well done! I seem to be using all of mine lately but I'm not feeling deprived.
Did you come to any resolution with your MoH? I wonder if you could let her choose something then speak with your hair & make up woman to see if there's a way of getting a similar look for less effort?
I need to book a make up lady you've reminded me. I saw a company called Beauty on the Move that I think cover nationwide. The girl I spoke to was a bit OTT for me but she did film/TV, they had dedicated wedding specialists & their prices weren't eye watering either x

I told her i need to ask my makeup/ hair girl what she feels she would be comfortable with doing- maybe get a few photos of what she's done before to show my MOH. Hopefully I've been stern enough that she isn't expecting this massively extravagant up-do based on a photo of a celebrity anymore...

Glad you're not feeling deprived- and syns are there to be used! Im sure im going to use most of them today!!

Thanks Rosie!
Im going to try and stop moaning about wedding things now- i know it must be tedious for people to read.
Going to try and sort out wedding things today with H2b- need to finalise the vows, music and readings for the ceremony.
And start the evening invites and order a few things for our candy buffet.

We have got tbe ushers suits now- just need to sort out their ties and pocket-squares. No idea where to get them from!

Only just realised i went over syn yesterday :( Forgot to write down the tomato ketchup from my lunch.

You're not moaning! Just sharing your troubles, which is fine :)
Hope you've had a nice weddingy day? I very naughtily put my dress on today- I needed to see what underwear I can wear underneath it! It was nice to put it on but I could've done with a hand lol.
Not to worry about going over- you only had 8 the day before! Xx

I don't think id be able to resist putting on my dress once I've got it either! Have you decided on underwear? What style is your dress?
I am really self-conscious about the bra situation- im busty, my dress is a v-neck with a v-back and ive been told to go braless...

Well I don't need to tell you a loss is still a loss, I'd be miffed too! Fingers crossed it catches up with you next week!
Its the first time I've put it on since the shop, I think I've resisted well so far!
I didn't think I'd be able to wear a corset/basque because my dress has sweetheart neckline but it seems I can so I'll probably go for something with a bit of control/support.
Could you go for a u-shaped bra? I can't describe it lol Google it xx

The wedding stuff is a big thing for you at the moment and I don't think you go on. It's meant to one of the most stressful things you ever do. Reading it though I am retroactively realising I probably owe my mum more of a thank you for all the organising she did (but then she mostly got to have her way so I am sure she was happy.)

I would be miffed with a half too - if you have been on plan and 1.5 syns shouldn't make a difference as you've had a few low syn days. Hopefully as Rosie says it will show next week.

Thanks girls! I was so tempted by a takeaway last night- got the computer out to order and everything but i stayed strong :)

And Snow, you were definitely lucky to have mum doing a lot of the wedding prep- although im not sure id like my mums taste ao you are doubly lucky if you had similar tastes and styles!!

Got a bit done for the wedding yesterday- sorted out our vows and readings, kinda decided on our honeymoon (we've ditched the cruise around the med as i don't wana be away from Reece for 7 nights- so we're thinking 5 nights in Rome and found some great deals) and sorted out the ushers gifts.

And Arsenal won their FA Cup match so it was a good day!!

I was naughty today- its impossible to eat out sometimes!

Writing it off and will try and keep syns low for the rest of the week... Well until Friday when i am out with friends for drinks!

Going to write my shameful diary now- doubt I'll eat anything else for the rest of the day as what i have eaten has made my tummy really bad and ive spent quite a few moments on the loo... Maybe ive got rid of a lot of the syns!!

Todays food (EE day)-
B: Nothing.
L: Chicken breast in breadcrumbs in a white roll with a tomato, onion and chilli sauce. Coleslaw. Chips...
D: Nothing!

Snacks: Fruit salad (apple, pear, grapes, kiwi and plum) WW yogurt. Banana.
Drinks: 4 x cups of tea (sweetener and skimmed milk) Water.
SynTotal- ??? But loads!

To be honest- Reece is unwell and ive been beating myself up about leaving him and coming to work so i was easily tempted by the crispy chicken roll. I actually cried in work earlier because he cried when i left the house as he wanted his mummy :( Feel terrible.

Aww Lisa I am sorry to hear that. I don't know how parents do it these days it's just impossible isn't it. Can't manage on one income (well we couldn't and we don't even have kids) and childcare is so expensive and leaving them is so hard!
