Alexmummy's learning journey...

CONGRATULATIONS! Sorry I'm so late, haven't been browsing diaries as much. You must be so excited. All the best xxxxx

Thank you everyone - I think the feeling 'frumpy' is coming from knowing I have to dress shop in 3 weeks time, and white/ivory is not a colour I would usually wear lol! I've been doing ok, I am, however going to sit down tonight with DF and we're going to have a 'nice' meal together, something we haven't had for a while, and something naughty - having nachos with the trimmings! Haven't had nachos, or really anything mexicanny in well over a year, it will no doubt be almost our Valentines meal as we are both so busy with so much going on at the moment, and also my throat is just beginning to come up, so have a feeling I won't be able to eat it next week anyway (as with me when I get colds and so on, they take a long while to pass) Anyway, I know now that having 'a meal off track' means just that, one meal, and I can carry on 'as normal' it definitely doesn't have to be a binge or anything like that, because I'm not depriving myself, and I am actually really enjoying making and eating healthy foods, and don't feel as though I am missing out anymore (although I will well and truly enjoy the nachos tonight)

I WILL get back to looking into all your diaries I promise, life has just been so hectic, I've only managed about 5 mins on here at the moment! xx

Enjoy your meal, yum, nachos with all the trimmings, yum x

Sounds yum, nachos.... ahhh!

white/ivory is not a colour I would usually wear lol!

My daughter got married in pale blue.......just a thought.....? It doesn't have to be white/ivory does it?

Enjoy your special meal, I'm so hungry.....:wave_cry: :)

I think you'd look fab in ivory AlexM, you have lovely light colouring... but as Bess says, you can be creative with the colours if you want to! Don't let it worry you, enjoy it... it's gonna be your special day!

Ooooh just arrived back here and get to read your wonderful news.... congratulations on your September wedding, cannot wait to see piccies of the dress you choose, and I think you will look gorgeous in ivory..... oooh so glad I am back.... lol

Thanks everyone.
Well after thinking my dress shopping starts in 2 1/2 weeks time, it actually starts a week today. My mum had her term dates wrong, so it's all steam ahead for next week!
We see the vicar on Wednesday and pay deposit for there, contract is through for our Reception Venue, and then dress hunting next week...oooo scary but exciting times!!

I will def be sticking with Ivory/White, it's just my insecurities that make me feel uncomfy about the colour (black is far too flattering and comfy for my liking - but definitely not a wedding colour).

I've managed to maintain my weight for around 3-4 weeks now, and I'm pleased with that, but now it REALLY is time to start dropping some more lbs in line with the wedding, so have re-done my ticker etc. Am aiming for 9 stone 7 overall and then to maintain at that point (which I hope I can do).
I have lots of people telling me I'm ok as I am, but I know I'm still just above that 'healthy BMI' line, and also they remember me being soooo big, so to them, my weight now is always a shock, whereas if it were a cousin or other family member who was already smaller it would be different.

My course is/will be taking up a lot of my time too, but I am determined to look GOOD on my wedding day, so I am setting myself the target of 30 mins exercise every day. I have no reason why I can't, and it doesn't matter what form of exercise it is, whether it's running round the self checkout tills at work (as that def classes and is more than 30 mins anyway) or cycling, running, swimming, toning and so on.
I know I can do this, and I know it's very possible, I just have to remember 30 mins is nothing in a whole day. x

How exciting it will be shopping for your dress..... I have no doubt that you will lose that last 9lb as you have been so determined throughout.... well done!!

All so exciting Claire, you ok? Just busy I think? xx

I like your idea about running round the tills at work! You will look fantabulous on your wedding day, even better than good!!!

Hey hon.
Just popping on after my hols... great to see you have set a date for your wedding I bet your so excited.. All the plans are exciting too.
Keep smiling you have lots to look forward to x

Hey All

Today was sooo amazing! So scary but amazing, trying on wedding dresses. We are narrowed down to 2 at the moment with 2 more shops to look in tomorrow and then decision time. My mum cried, so that's a good sign! (I think)
I have an assignment due in next week, and my little boy is poorly at the moment, so fiance' is looking after him whilst we are dress shopping.
I WILL be on here soon when things calm! xx

Sending a hug... glad you had a fab day!

OOh! What will it be like? Which one did you choose? Full description mind! xx

Ooooh life sounds full on for you at the moment, this should help you burn up some cals.... let us know which dress you pick..

'the' dress is picked - I unfortunately can't give details until after the day in case any of my family see this thread before then, including fiance' who knows I use this site too, so I daren't mention designers, colours or anything.
All I can say is, it's definitely 'the one', the only one that had one of my bridesmaids, my mum, and the shop assistants all in tears - good pick I think :)

Now I just need to really concentrate on toning and shifting some more of those lbs, not going mad by any means as I know losing too much would totally ruin the shape of the dress, and I have ordered in the size I tried on, so I know roughly where I have got to be. It's really arms and back/tummy that needs just that extra bit of toning, so going to work hard on that for the next 7 months.

I genuinely can't wait to pick it up in 5 months time, have the alterations needed, and have it as 'my' dress. The only sad thing is I will only get to where it on 1 day - that feels very sad xx
