Alexmummy's learning journey...

You aren't making a mistake at all Claire, keep in touch though, we all want to know how you are! x

Nothing wrong with WW if you need more structure! You've done brilliantly so far and now you should do whatever works for you!
Stay here on the board though please! Even though I don't post as much as I should I feel like we're a little club here and you're a big part of it so not allowed to leave :p

Thank you everyone :)

You are all my mini-friends and to leave here totally would be horrible!

Well I signed up on Monday, and between then and today, my first official meeting I have lost 2lbs - so very happy with that.

I have to say though...I wasn't overly impressed with the leader, hhmmm. She asked the usual how tall am I, breastfeeding? etc etc, then it came to how much do I want to weigh?

Well with CD, my leader always encouraged me to pick a weight I was comfy at, so originally I picked 10.7 which although is out of my BMI range, was a weight I thought I could achieve and so we picked that, and it was fine (funny enough the exact weight I am today). My CDC never pressured me to change my weight goal or anything, but I myself changed it to 10.1 as I approached 11 stone, which again was fine.
Anyway, the leader asked me where do I want to be, and I said for my wedding 9.7, so she looked at me and then said, well your 5% is 10 stone exactly, and 10% will be 9.6 so we really need to put a goal weight beneath this amount, something I'm not really very appreciative of, as I don't want to drop any lower than 9.7, and to be fair, I know she is discussing %'s but I have already lost 38% of my body weight (I did tell her how much I have lost on CD too)

Do you think I am wrong for wanting to keep my goal weight at around 9.7? I would have a BMI of 23 then. I always thought it was personal choice where you ended up?
Apart from that, the info and the meals/recipes are going really well so far. xx

What a bossy woman! She has no idea. YOU need to be in charge of your journey hun, and I think 9 7 is a great target - I'd just smile sweetly and carry on towards your own end target, though maybe you'd rather make your plan clear right now? Either way, do not be pushed into setting a lower weight than you want to. I think you have done so amazingly well so far... you know what you are doing.

Chin up, and make this work for you... 9 7 it is!

1st Official W.I. was last night with WW and 3.5lbs down :) V Happy, almost back to my lightest, and 10.5 lbs to goal weight xx

Yay! Well done AM! You're doing great!

Hey Alexm, well done on our loss! fab news! Glad things are going well with ww
Have a great week!
xx

Fantastic news Claire! Well done! x

Just catching up and well done on the loss that's great!! She sounds a bit Marjorie Dawes to me!!! :)

You know what you want to be though - am sure that you'll get there anyway

Thanks everyone :) Feel v happy on the plan at the moment, 2 socials this week + Easter, so not hoping for much, as TOTM too. Scales not really dropping as it is, so heading for STS, and possibly gain next week...that's ok, providing it isn't much and I lose the following week. I simply don't have enough 'points' to save enough to point everything for the meals on Thursday and Friday, but will make the best choices available to me anyway.

If I could lose even 1/2lb this week and manage to STS next week, that, of course, would be my ideal situation, and then to continue losing from there, as I'd really like to be at goal weight by July at the latest, giving me August and the beg/middle of September to maintain before D -Day xx

You sound great Alex. Well done. You know occasionally for reasons I don't really know (metabolism maybe) sometimes eating more over one day or two can speed up the loss another week. Doesn't happen all the time but it has for me recently  ETA and any extra carbs/protein will be good for your exercise.

Thank you Laura, I feel in an OK place at the moment. I'm about 2lbs under where I was when I went dress hunting, so I'm happy with that, everything under the dress fitting is all a bonus, but I know with a very very busy August, and hen do's and so on, it will fluctuate (I'm not going to kid myself there) so this is why I am trying to set myself until July to get to goal, or as close to goal as possible. It gives me 18 weigh in's including this week, to lose 10.5 lbs, which is achievable. I've never in my teenage/adult life been 9 stone 7, so I'm not doubting that it's going to be hard work, but to stand on my wedding day and know that I've done it will be so thrilling in so so many ways. At the same time, if I just miss it off, then I know I've worked damn hard to get to where I am and if the scales just don't quite want to show the final work then at least I still know I have done all I can.
Hoping a little bit of stress might help a few of those lbs fall away too!

xx

you're an inspiration as ever, so happy for you AM.

woohooo 2.5lbs down :)

Ok so ate out at Italian tonight...food was bad...but yummy all the same...Meal out for lunch tomorrow, but will be straight back on it on Saturday. Would like to aim for maybe a STS next week. WOW 10.1 - this is THE lowest I have ever gotten too (from here on, every lb downwards is a lb into 'normal')

I tried THE dress on again today with my shoes for the big day, so now all my measurements have been sent off. The dress has been delayed because the shoes are slighlty shorter than originally ordered, so it's now coming at the end of July. On the plus though, the dress even today came in smaller than originally tried on - wow!! I can't wait for the actual day!!

xx

Oh Claire, it's so lovely to hear you all so excited!! Well done on the 2.5lbs, that's just great!! 10.1?!! We'll hear the cheer when it get's into the 9's!! xxx :D

So excited for you. My scales have now averaged out at 9 stone 7 for eight weeks. It still feels a bit surreal but the hard work is worth it. Funnily enough, if anything I may try and go up a little as my hip bones are sticking out a bit and it hurts when I wear jeans. I still have a butt and boobs but I look a bit out of balance at the moment.

Thank you :)
How surreal is that Laura - wanting to go up a bit!
I do know what you mean about hips, but my tummy and legs still need lots of toning too.

Food-wise, this weekend has been BAD (very bad) I am actually looking forward to getting back to normality tomorrow, and really hoping to get whatever I have gained this weekend off by Thurs and hopefully aim for a stay the same this week, and then head towards those (whispers...9's eeek!) in the next 2 weeks!

Tried wedding dress on, on Thursday just gone, with my shoes, and it is already smaller than when I tried on when I first picked it, so very pleased with that. Because of the change in heel height, it is now due to arrive the end of July. Have so much to do in that time, but so looking forward to it too. xx

Hey hun, I'm starting back on cd tomorrow. Just read your post on Katys diary...... know what you mean about ww. I'm looking forward to getting back to cd for a while. Good luck xxx
