OK, so here goes with the latest update...
I don't know whether I mentioned it, but I signed up a couple of weeks ago to Plenty of Fish (dating website)...not in a serious attempt to find anyone, I just thought I'd give it a go and see what happens.
Anyway, I saw this one bloke who caught my eye - but me being me, took a whole week to pluck up the courage to message him! Anyway, he emailed straight back saying 'Wow, you're gorgeous' and it went from there, first chatting online and then texting.
Anyway, cutting a long story short, we went on a date on Wednesday night to the cinema - I fancied him straight away, and he seemed to fancy me. We had lots of snogging during the film, and again when he walked me back to the car, and everything seemed really good...
...the only problem was that right from the beginning his texts were really, ummmm, flirtatious, and I was a little concerned that he was just looking for sex....I did confront him and he said that he definitely wanted a relationship, so I took him at his word.
Anyway, yesterday we text a LOT during the day, and he was talking about coming over to see me tonight, so we were discussing that a bit, along with the usual flirtation...and then the texts just stopped!!!
Bearing in mind that he'd been texting me roughly every 10 minutes, sometimes more often, since Sunday, I thought it was really odd that he would just stop like that....at first I thought he may have left his phone at work (the last text was 4pm yesterday) but now it's been WAY too long for a reasonable excuse, so I'm assuming he's moved on!!
How rude is that? After the first date, I told him to be honest if I wasn't what he expected, but he said I was 'perfect' and that he definitely wanted to see me again. I think the problem is that he thinks I'd be too difficult to get into bed (I was deflecting some of his more full-on texts) but the irony is that I would have felt a lot more flirtatious towards him if he'd actually spent a little time getting to know me as a person!
And what's even worse is that he's updated his profile on Plenty of Fish...and his photo is now one that he took on Tuesday night to send to me!!
So that's that. I know there are a lot of weirdos out there (I've done this internet dating thing before) but this one takes the biscuit. Luckily there's no emotional attachment, because it was only one date and a few snogs, but I'm just annoyed that I seem to be meeting a series of emotional f*ckwits at the moment!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
