Alpaca's stream of consciousness - IS BACK ON THE WAGON!

I ate one for lunch and the second portion for dinner ... But there was no gap between the 2 meals ! Lol xx

Afternoon Di, stop beating yourself up, you are poorly and your body is telling you it needs getting better ;) xxx

Thank the lord feeling lots better today... Good job as I was flying around to different offices! Lol

B - chicken breast on the hoof (well not on the hoof cos chickens don't have hoofs) lol

L - another chicken breast (2 in a pack from Tescos) and half a slice of cheese

D - will be 2 eggs scrambled with butter and a bit of cheese

Drunk gallons of coffee with cream today do feel stuffed ... Double cream does fill the old tummy.

Cals - 1400
Carbs - 7

I'm sure there's carbs in the meds...

Help DS and his OH finish their move from the attic on Sunday. Huntingdon Friday night / Saturday and staff summer event tomorrow...

But still feeling ok although a tad tired... So bath and early bed tonight xx

So gorgeous! Xxx

Are there really 1400 cals in 2 chicken breasts and 2 eggs, butter and cheese???

Ohh wait the cream. Still...

It's the cream that was the killer today - but I'm not hungry this evening so the high fat worked ...

Don't have cream too often but I met a friend for coffee who I thought was still on Atkins so got a carton of cream beforehand - he wasn't so I ended up having it for the rest of the day! Lol

Well if it fills you up I think Atkins did say double cream was a pretty ideal Atkins food!

Morning... there's a staff outing today with one of my clients... Winchester House near Putney Bridge. Then off to Huntingdon later tonight.

Am back to posted weight which I posted about 3 weeks ago - I could do with some analysis on whether it's down to lower cals (I had 1500 yesterday) or lower carbs (I had 8g) or a combo of both. I ended up just about 1500 cals yesterday - maybe a tad more as I had a mug of unsweetened soya with a plink of candarel and a smidge of orange blossom essence. ML thank you for posting your soya drink as I'm so pleased I tried it - very lish!

Will be more thoughtful about what I eat to try and start the weight loss off again.

I think I've just been incredibly lucky that I've not had to do more than remove most of the carbs from my diet over the last year for me to lose weight. But now it seems I need to actually think about volume as well.

So, will try and think about counting my cals and keep them between 1300 to 1500 if possible.

B - one rasher of streaky bacon, one egg, half a portobello mushroom, courgette portion (about 2 inches), handful of wilted spinach and a dollop of coconut oil. Coffee and soya. MFP says 5g carbs and 369 cals.

Hope you have lovely days... xx :)

Morning, Di!

I would think it's mostly the calorie reduction that's doing it. If your body is used to getting 1600-1800 cals and you drop that by 300 it's going to make a difference, at least in the short term.

I picked up this calculator from another forum Calculate Your Ideal Nutrient Intake for Weight Loss or Maintenance which might be useful for you. I ran my stats through it aiming for a weekly loss of 1.5lbs and it told me to consume 1300 calories per day, so I suspect your target of 1300-1500 would be about right. Have a play with it and see what you get! :)

So glad you're feeling better, btw, and that you're back to posted weight - you rock! :D xx

I would say it might be the very low carb levels actually - but it's impossible to tell unless you did one month at 1300 cals daily and 20g carb and 1 month at 1500 cals and 8g carb for example.

I say one month as it's impossible to tell anything from one weeks loss - we all try to read into things but the truth is you can eat identical meals every day (witness the Cambridge diet) and have one week where you lose two pounds and the next where you STS for no reason.

Glad you are beginning to feel better Di, try not to overdo it this weekend, let others do the running around for you xxx

Great advice as always! Thank you!! Xxx

And that tool s very interesting! But I can't have entered the numbers in correctly as it has me needing to be on 1079 cals pee day - must re-do it when I get home xx

It told me to lose 2lb per week I'd have to eat less than 1000 cals per day.

I've averaged a 2lb per week loss pretty constantly so far and this last week I ate (rounded figures)

1500
1400
1400
1300
1700
1300

So, it's defo not gospel for me at least.

Asking for a weight loss of 2lb a week set it off with a belly laugh so I had to change to 1.5lba...

I'm just shooting off to Huntingdon so will study over the weekend ... It sort of explains why my weight loss has dramatically reduced over the last 6 months - always satisfying to have an explanation ... Maybe the trigger is losing 30% of body weight ??

It said I would maintain at 1790 or something which again matches what's been happening for me..

Xxx

I think I shall try at 1300 cals for a while ... I feel that might be what I need to do next xx
