Alpaca's stream of consciousness - IS BACK ON THE WAGON!

oh I didn't realise that Jim ... I didn't think dried or cured was classified as processed meat... would that apply to smoked salmon - I've got a lot to learn!! lol :)

hello Susie ... best you keep away from italian delis then - I didn't realise they were full of processed foods! lol

although, I guess it's slightly better if they don't have chemicals or reconstituted meat?...

so today I lost 1.5lbs ... lol ... no idea what I've done differently to give me the loss but its VERY welcome as I'd been stuck for quite a while! There seems to be a bit of shrinkage on the hips as well - always very welcome! lol :)

I'm feeling cautious about it cos I know the scales and my weight seems to have a mind of its own and I don't want to speak too soon! lol :)

Well done Di. I'd only class processed as things like burgers sausages and grills that although being up to 98% meat still goes thru a mushing up process and often has preservatives breadcrumbs etc added.

Thanks Lisa... I am gobsmacked... lol :)

Oh yes, I'd never have managed induction without processed foods, bacon, sausages etc, :)

Thanks Susie ... I'm so worried it will creep back on again and it's so hard to lose this time ... Haven't been on a diet since sometime in the nineties and it was never this hard then! Lol

Yes! Definitely Wednesday is good for me! :)

Yeah Di - that's fabulous! Well done:D

I know you are working really hard on this and deserve to lose - keep going
Xxxx

Aw thanks Katie!! Maybe I shouldn't yurt so hard ... If I fell off the wagon more often I would confuse my body to release some weight - or something like that! Lol

You sound like you're having such a busy time ! enjoy the rest of your hols :)

Lol Di:D

Based on an unscientific analysis (ie me reading!) all the posts on here - stick to atkins with no cheats and (eventually!) we all lose weight. Bounce around different woe, try for speed etc and all bets off!

It's interesting at the moment as i set a target to maintain for summer - but still a little voice in head is moaning at me saying you must lose now/fast - and then ten minutes later - you must eat that yummy x. Whoever figures out how to turn that stupid voice in head off will be rich:D

That's really sound advice Katie!

And to be honest I haven't wanted to give up cheese and cream even though so many people stall when they have them! I guess I was just hoping I could do it while still having them but I have absolutely made my mind up not to get any new purchases when I've finished what I have and trial it for a week or so...

I do believe that Atkins will work - absolutely - and everyone says it's a slow programme ... So I will just find me some more patience and plod onwards and downwards! Lol :)

In the grand scheme of things my weight loss has averaged out to about 9.25lbs per month which is excellent!! :)

Morning Alpa :)

Morning hun

Firstly, WELL DONE on the average monthly loss, that is fabulous!

Secondly, we have all the sabotage voice in common - I find filling up on legal stuff helps but could also do with tips on avoiding stalling stuff.

Shall we go without cheese and cream for a week together?

Sounds great! I've still got one more portion of cream for coffee tomorrow and about 2 day's worth of cheese! Lol :)

A girl at work gave me 2 sachets of Exante - one strawberry shake and one Tom & basil soup which I had today - my carbs have gone up to 42!!! So not going to do that again! I didn't think they were so carb-y!

I've been wondering about doing a bit of Exante or similar during the week too, it would make life a lot easier not carting half my fridge to work! I've got some protein shake mix in the cupboard, so will use that up, and was thinking about making soups up for lunch, with some flax toast and then protein and green leafies for dinner...

Brendle, what do you think of this?

It would probably lower your calories a little, I have done something similar and I did lose, everybody is different though and you know what it is like, what works for one may not work for another.....but worth a try if you are struggling? xx

Morning Di, 42 carbs is a lot isn't it love

Morning campers

I feel like I've been off the site for ages and it's only been a day! lol... just shows how important this place has become for me.

I am itching to get down to the next number on the scales - currently 19st 1lb... and realistically, it will take a couple of weeks to get there at my speed - but the 18s are in sight!!

I just take my hat of to all you guys who have persevered and done it ... it truly feels like a super human effort... thankfully I've found Atkins and if he were alive today I'd become a groupie! lol

Had a lovely night last night meeting Lady Felsham - Susie ... she's such a cool person! :)

Ok... today's menu is a bit odd as I'm Hammersmith and just threw stuff in my bag this morning... annoyingly, the Exante friend gave me some more flavours to try - she must be on commission from Exante or something! lol... yes, Jim, they are scarily high in carbs but as Bren says, I ate less so maybe that's the balance. Will check on the ketostix at the weekend to see if it's done any damage.

B - Atkins cafe latte shake
S - 1/2 Exante shake - vanilla
L - tin of sardines in sunflower oil
S - Exante thai chicken soup
D - not sure - depends when I get home and what mood I'm in! lol
W - loads
A - none
E - hardly any!

xx :)

morning love :) ooh glad you had nice time with suze and good uck with the scales xxx

Glad you two had a good evening. I looked out my Exante supplies yesterday to see if I could pass them on to anyone who wants to try them but they went out of date in May so I binned them.
