Consolidation Anjuschka's journey through Conso (closed)

Thanks Jo,

just a quick reply - catching up whilst putting the kids to bed... Brilliant stuff there - and the pictures are an inspiration too!

What 'annoys' me is that nearly every interesting recupe uses 'Carree frais' or flavourings or Protifar. Whilst I could get some the flavourings (don't really want to), can't get the others and substitutes are not clear / possible? Could try Philly EL for CF and dried milk for Protifar and see what happens?

Love it...

Thanks for checking in Anja, and enjoy your day. You're such an inspiration and it's good for those of us who consider the first lapse a door opener to a major free for all to see how you can rein back in continually.

Jo and Jaqys,

yes I think that's a problem for many - the thought - "ah well I've been bad / broken the diet so might as well give up for today" Those ideas are in my head but try to deal with them. This past weekend it was a case of have a chocolate but not a box full, have a biscuit but not a packet. And do not allow guilt to come into it! that makes the whole thing lethal: guilt, lies, hidden eating etc... I know that as soon as I am not allowed something I just really need to have it. It was not a problem I had in Cuise but it's cropped up at times now. Not helped by the fact we still have loads of chocolates and biscuits left after the visitors have gone :( So today I took a home made christmas muffin to work, and 'counted' it as bread and cheese. A total cheat I know

And yes, I tend to eat little treats throughout the week rather than gorge myself at the Gala meal just because I am 'allowed'. Although I do use a Gala to have a nice dessert that I don't usually get, and some potatoes or meats (real sausages) that are off the menu other times...

So to get up-to-date. Yesterday and today I did PV conso, to (hopefully!!) make up for the weekend that consisted of 2 Galas and a Carb meal plus lots of nice extras.

Yesterday Tuesday:
B: Egg, cottage cheese, bread with ham
S: Oatbran muffin with apricot
L: (out for lunch but resisted): (dukan-) Coleslaw, 2 Mini babybel, oatbran muffins with apricot. Cappuccino (probably not skimmed milk!)
D: Beef Goulash with cottage cheese, SF jelly

Today back at work so much less temptation
B: Oatbran porridge & cinnamon yoghurt. Orange juice
S: Christmas muffin
L: Beetroot & pickled Herring Salad, cottage cheese and peppers. Yoghurt
S: Satsuma and dukan hot chocolate
D: Roast beef with a bit of peppers from yesterday and winter greens. Yoghurt

popping in to say hello and keep up the good work .... dont visit the conso diaries as much as i should dont want to get tempted by all the cheese talk !

Mmmhh at the moment I am using my daily rations for little 'Christmas special' pieces of Wensleydale with cranberries (oh no - more fruit:eek:), or smoked cheddar, cheddar with chillies...

SORRY could not resist!

Cheese talk.... I love it!

Anja, your doing great. In all honesty not having ott gala meals and using the odd small treat during the weekdays is a better way of doing it. For me anyway. That way you are not temptedto gorge or pig out at galas. Really everything in moderation is the way to go, don't u think?

Thanks Bren, my feelings exactly. As I am heading for Stabilisation now where I am 'back to normal' (definition yet to be found, Laura and I are working on it), so that will not mean 6 'Gala' meals a week but 6 normal days... and one ultra-strict PP from hell :(

Have a good day, I really need my bed now :)

smoked cheddar now your talking :p

mmmm smoked cheddar, or any cheese for that matter. I loooooove them all xxx

Anja, many years ago when i lost my last 7kgs using CC. I managed to keep it off for over 2 years before it gradually began creeping back due to work and life taking away my time to exercise. I know that when i kick these last 6.5kgs to the kerb this time I am not going to let life get in the way. Fact is I like exercising and my body rewards me with it. Means I can eat "normally" as mentioned and so long as the water intake is up then I stay the same, week after week.

Here's to normal life! (raises imaginery Pinot Noir, in lead crystal glass)

Ok just a quick one here before I settle down and tackle that mountain of work...

Bren, yes well explicit exercise is the one thing that I know will never factor very highly in my life, so I'll have to work it out some other way... BTW love your new rofile pic!

Today's PP a bit unimaginatiev as I had run out of most things. Only a little plain yoghurt left, no quark, down to the last two eggs, NEED TO GO SHOPPING I THINK.

Anyway this is what I came up with:

B: Pancake with cinnamon yoghurt
S: oatbran muffins
L: Sliced beef, egg, yoghurt, muffins
D: Grilled cod fillet (with herb topping?), egg?, beef?
S: yoghurt after I've been shopping!

Have a good Thursday everyone!

** munch munch ** muffins right now.

I have drunk so much water today, I must be at the 2l mark already (2 x 600ml, 3 coffees (decaf), 1 green tea). Will empty the 600ml bottle one more time before going home. So if my weight is up tomorrow it will only be water :D:D

As you know, muffins are very important to me... do you prefer sweet or savoury ones? Perhaps some of your muffin ideas might help others get into making them... (recipes?)

So here comes Friday again and I WI at 62.3 YAY.

Well I have been 'good' for the second half of this week after a very indulgent weekend. Now I have planned a normal Conso II week which looks like this: (trying to remember, piece of paper is at home on the fridge...)

Fri: PV-carb: Grilled turkey steaks, Puy lentils, Squash
Sat: Gala: German Sausages & mash, Kohlrabi. Home made apple turnovers (DD1 requested)
Sun: PV : stuffed courgettes (turkey mince)
Mon: PV-Carb: chilli con carne (inc beans) with brown rice
Tue: PV: chicken stirfry
Wed : Gala: fish cakes and potato wedges, PEAS
Thu PP: Something fishy... (shopping on Weds)

I'm making sure to have my 60gr of bread and 40gr of cheese every day, on Sat possibly a Crumpet (need to weigh it first) with cheese and on Sunday that will probably express itself as lentils in soup sprinkled with a bit of Parmesan.
In addition I am having ~2 fruit portions a day, usually a fruit juice and a piece of fruit, but occasionally I'll have more, especially if eating fruit yoghurt (max 2 per day), or adding a couple of chopped apricots to my muffins.
I have not listed drinks with the gala meals, I will probably have a glass on Sat, but it might be a Mulled Wine after the kids have gone to bed.

Today's food:

B: Oatbran porridge with yoghurt & pear, fresh juice
S: bread and cheese (mmh the last bit of smoked cheddar)
L: Leftovers: turkey in tomato sauce, coleslaw, treat: WW fromfrais with fruit layer.
D: Grilled turkey steaks with Puy lentils (carbs) and Baked Squash depending on how much time I have for cooking tonight.

Sounds absolutely delicious. I was wondering what to have for my gala meal (probably tomorrow), and am now seriously considering a sausage casserole. I'm also craving pastry, so may have some kind of pie the week after (either homemade or one of the delicious little Scotch pies which are currently nestling in the freezer).

Yep I have to hAVe muffins tomorrow!

Anja, great result and balance with the WI. Well done, your are inspiring for us up comers. Xx

As for exercise I have a saying 'some people like to train, others need to train' I need to because I love it and it makes me happy. :)

Any exciting plans for the weekend?

Bren
Xx

Thanks everyone,

no no plans for the weekend. another baking session with the kids (those turnovers!), there is still plenty of post-holiday tidying and washing to do (I keep finding decorations!)... And the weather does not exactly look inspiring either.

DD if you're looking for pies for special occasions, we very occasionally get one from Abel&Cole
Organic food delivery. Organic vegetable boxes, fruit, meat & more - Abel & Cole
and they're divine. the one at the weekend was 'Moroccan chicken' and the pastry is divine.

I am just a happy customer...

....Unlike the salt-free cardboard the supermarkets are serving up in quiches now - my current bug-bear, I resent wastign my calories on that. Now I hadn't had any supermarket quiche since before the summer so it came as a bit of a shock that all the Salt had gone (it was already a noticeable trend before). I checked the ingredients last week, no salt whatsoever in pastry. Will have to switch to home made, sigh...
