Consolidation Anjuschka's journey through Conso (closed)

Thanks Sarah,

re: the Veg - hopefully was a one-off, this week's delivery was fine, but I am in the process of getting a key to A&C so they can drop things in the shed in future (thinking expensive Christmas meat deliveries...). From what I read in my weekly poice round-up I think the wider area had been checked over by some pros last week, a couple of attempted rear-door/window break-in and the like and a distraction burglary...

Mmmh just had a lovely Gala meal:

Home made chicken curry with half a Naan bread and some Bombay mix nibbles beforehand. A glass of white wine and and ice-cream for dessert.

The rest of today fairly normal:

B: Oatbran porridge and kiwi fruit & yoghurt
S: 1 small Lebkuchen
L: A bowl of Winter soup which had pulses, barley and some slices of frankfurters in it so decided that probably counts as my slice of bread an cheese! Coleslaw, yoghurt.
D: Gala meal as above

We put up our Christmas Tree today! Finally...

:xmastree: It was lovely thanks! Nearly brought a tear to my eye as usual!!

awh... as you know, I'm not child friendly, but I used to always go to a carol service in a local church on Christmas Eve and there was a nativity play... little ones who could barely walk had lines... and it was all very cute! They were all so serious and studious! awh!

Note to self: find a carol service! (they seem to have them all sooooo early in December these days that those of us who arrive on 22nd are "too late"! grrrr!)

Well we're all missing DD2s Christmas Concert today as she's got a temp and earache and stayed home with me - though she sounds quite chipper right now!
Wasted trip with all my parcels in the rain to the 'local' Post Office, closed :-( due to 'family funeral'. Unfortunately it is the only one for miles now. Ah well my stuff was not going to make it before Christmas anyway...

Yum yum just had lunch and stuffed my face with crunchy coleslaw. I also had 60gr (exactly) rice leftover from last night, I know it's probably not exactly a good substitute for the bread allowance but I hate to chuck leftovers out...

Today:
B: D Porridge with cinnamon, apple and yoghurt
s: Biscuit
L: Cheeseburger pie (reheated, contained 1/2 cheese allowance). 60gr brown rice. Dukan friendly coleslaw. Yoghurt
D (Gala): Filled pasta (carbonara tortellinin) with tomato sauce. Dessert to be confirmed....

So, successfully survived PP without OD'ing on eggs either:

B: D porridge, yoghurt
S: coffee
L: surimi 'salad' (I know, not ideal but they needed using up!), smoked salmon with mustard cottage cheese, egg. yoghurt
D: turkey steaks with mustard sauce, paprika-dusted cottage cheese, baked custard
S: cinnamon yoghurt.

On to tomorrow's WI, followed by my work Christmas dinner (Gala meal obviously). Oh and dessert last night was lower-fat choc mousse.

And that's my last working day till Jan 5th so I really need to work on my snack avoidance strategies in a house full of goodies (and kids...)!

I'm seeing good cottage cheese ideas there... I do love it, can't get it here, so it's on my 4am shopping list when I arrive!

Gosh you have a long break Anja - as you say, snack avoidance strategies required and, because you're normally so active, make sure you keep the exercise up (that's a note to me too! being "on holiday" is all very well, but..!).

It's my work's Christmas do tonight too... not going! (Not a diet related decision, more a "want to get to my house for bedtime" one...)

Hello just a quick one for today:

WI was okay at 62.4 phew :) which is okay with 2 gala meals and 2 carb ones as well. I think this week I may stick to just one Gala and possibly 3 lean carb ones in preparation for Christmas. Of course I will stick to my cheese and bread and fruit rations though!

Today's food includes my work Christmas lunch (which is late hence a snack before).

B: D porridge & yoghurt
S: WM roll with cheese, satsuma
L: Christmas lunch, one or two glasses of wine (one Aperitif & one with food).
D: Something small no doubt, one-egg prawn omelette or so! Yoghurt...

I'm in a good mood, actually had an unbroken night's sleep so DD2 is clearly on the mend!!

I exchange small gifts with some people, one of my colleagues gave me a luxury bath miniature instead of the chocolates she gave everyone else, I thought that was really nice of her!

Ooohh and I have just been given a box of mint chocolates... One for rationing I think!

Anyway have a good Friday everyone!! I'd better squeeze in a little bit more work...

glad you got some sleep and glad your daughter is getting better ... mmm mint choc yep best hide them ...
have a good day

Hi,

I'm back after a nice party without excess:

I chose one of the vegetarian options which was 'aubergine, spinach and ricotta cannelloni' and it was perfect, apart from being full fat etc, no carbs in sight: slices of Aubergine rolled up with a filling of Spinach and Ricotta, baked in the oven in a tomato sauce and a bit of cheese on top. I had that with roasted winter veg and steamed sprouts. Delicious and low carb to boot! I am going to be experimenting making a Dukan version I'm sure! For dessert I did have a slice of Christmas pud, and a mince pie with coffee. I also had 2 choccies... A glass of Cava and a Glass of white wine complete the picture. It was all very delicious and I enjoyed every mouthful :)

I have now given away the majority of my biscuits as little presents, the family are munching the rest. I attach a picture of them before I started bagging them up.

I also attach a picture from today, this is a dress I bought last week, and it is what I wore to work / the party today. Everyone was commenting on the lovely colour and I have also been getting so many (nice) comments about the necklace. the funny thing is that I bought it when / because it was drastically reduced... But I do love it too! ...
Obviously I am wearing my slippers in the picture!

Lovely biscuits, Anja, and you're looking good too!

(Just as well you gave them away, far too tempting).

Glad you had a good time at the party and managed to eat well without excesses!

Anja, I've read in your menus about the "Dukan-friendly" coleslaw you've been eating. Please could you let me know whether it's homemade (and the recipe, if poss) or if you buy it? I've been missing coleslaw and would love to have some when I can have a bit of cheese on Conso. Thank you!

Anja - lovely biscuits and gosh you look slim! Love the rocking horse too!

I'm sure Anja is far more inventive than I am with her coleslaw, but mine is simply white cabbage, onion and carrot (grated finely) and I knock up a Dukan mayo (ok I'm LYING I make a sauce using a splodge of fat free fromage frais, splodge of mustard, squirt of lemon juice... then stick my finger in and taste it until I like it. And mix!

Thanks Jo, yes that's exactly what I just posted to the recipe board!

Hi everyone, so looks like it's my turn to get ill now :sigh:, sore throat and head ache in the making... Ah well that's how it always happens - every year as soon as you relax, you get ill. I've been drinking peppermint tea with sweetener but I think I'll have to have one teaspoon of honey in my cup later tonight.

Anyway, one weekend later and I snook on the scales this morning and managed to STS compred to Friday WI - which probably means the fallout will settle later in the week

After my work lunch on Friday, I had the following weekend:

Sat PV COnso, made my oatbran into 'snack avoidance muffins' with 3 chopped apricots included as a fruit portion.

B: Pancake with cottage cheese and apple
S: muffins, some home made biscuit crumbs (the broken ones)
L: Coleslaw, smoked mackerel (tinned), cottage cheese, bread, baked custard
S: 1 home made Lebkuchen (they're actually low-fat and high fibre ;)...), muffins
D: slow cooked chicken and veg in tomato sauce (recipe posted)sprinkled with cheese portion, with some quark on the side.
S: a biscuit and a chocolate!

Sun PV+Carbs Conso: more muffins, with cinnamon and a handful of raisins this time

B: Bread with bresaola and cheese, poached egg, yoghurt
S: muffins
L: chicken and tomato soup
S: Shop-bought Lebkuchen, muffins
D: Stir-fried salmon and prawns with greens (recipe posted), brown rice, yoghurt
S: two chocolates, muffins

And today PV Monday I have started better:

B: D porridge with yoghurt, poached egg
S: Apple
L: Cheese on toast, 2 poultry sausages, red cabbage. Yoghurt, 2 dried apricots
S: yoghurt
D: Asparagus and ham omelette / quiche.

Tomorrow meeting a friend for lunch so that will be my 'Gala' meal but I expect I'll manage to find something quite lightweight!
