I agree it needs lots of practice. I've not made many but do tend to make for family and friends as an excuse lol. I'd love to see your pics, get posting more they sound great! X

Those cakes of yours look impressive too ellen. I've only ever tried cupcakes once and although they looked ok they weren't edible. I really don't think using wholemeal flour helped!
Luckily I'm married to a skinny cakeaholic so I can practice if I want, knowing they won't go to waste and I won't be getting fat.
