Anyone Maintaining Who Wants Help And Mutual Support To Stay Put?

This may seem like a silly question but when do you stop paying at SW? Is it when you actually hit target and then stay within 3 lbs or just when you get to within 3lbs of your target?

When you hit target :)

Gah, outside of range again - I put on 4 1/2 pounds somehow this week - still dont know how, which now puts me at 1/2 lb over target range.

My consultant really doesnt seem to understand how target works when you go out of range, miss weeks etc. I'm on holiday next week, so have booked as holiday -as I assume that if it just don't turn up next week, the system will take that as a 2nd consecutive week out of target and demand I pay next time - presumably if I book next week as holiday and get back into range when I come back the week afterwards I wont have to pay.

That of course relies on me losing weight when on holiday! (its just a few days in pembrokeshire, and we are in a cottage so I can at least prepare some SW friendly meals)

So I've reset my target. Weighed in at 8st 2! 2lbs under target range so hopefully I'll get a 2lbs loss this week and hit my new target! :)

My consultant wasn't too happy with me lowering, even though my bmi would be perfectly healthy! But anyway that's 90lb gone! And 90lb I will make sure I never see again! :)

Hey, tbh I didn't do anything different, it just came off. I can imagine how annoying a plateau must be, especially being so close! Sorry I couldn't be any help, but good luck with those last few lbs :)

Thank you :)

I have 2lbs left to go till I get to target, so I'm here to start to try and get comfy in here ready for when I hit target next week (fingers crossed).
Beginning to think maintenance maybe more difficult that losing.

It definitely is Tipareth, its a big adjustment, at the least. Just take it day by day. The fastest route to regaining the weight is to hit target and go "Thats that done then!" and revert to "non-diet" behaviour as a reward for all your hard work. It takes a strong will to battle that when it hits.

Yes I would agree. Todayi have just been having one sugar fix after another, biscuits, sweets, chocolate. I must try hard to get back in track tomorrow.

I get days like you. Yesterday cafe fry up on the way home from family visiting, then forgot to cook a joint, so rummaged in the freezer and found fish fingers, sent hubby to chip shop, mmmm chip and fish finger butties, not one bit of super free food all day - but I enjoyed and planning on being on plan today -so far so good, but I did find a wispa in the car - very melted, so put in my bag to bring in, I know it's there, I kept thinking about it last night lol how much longer will I resist :)

I've got 5 pounds to hit target, so I've been dead interested in this thread. Maintaining does sound a tricky business indeed. I'm petrified I'll pile all the weight back on so I'm glad to have picked up some tips. Hope to see you soon when I'm finally at target!

you can change it by less.
as you can see in my sig i changed mine by 3lb.

the 7lb limit is there to protect sw from people that change their target every 5 minutes to avoid paying to go to class.
your consultant has the discretion to change by less if circumstances need it.let us know how you get on x

Hi everyone! Not been here for a while as I went a little off the rails!

I had my parents come to visit two weeks ago, this of course involved lots of dinners out, drinking, visits to the bakery and fish and chips. Also no real exercise that week as was spending all my time with my folks. Didn't go to weigh in either. They left on the tuesday and on the wednesday myself and the OH decided to get straight back into it, at the gym, healthy food etc. Had a great sesh in the gym and was ready for the week ahead. However the next day I decided to run down the stairs to answer the phone, missed the last step, fell over and busted my foot up! Nothing broken thank god but was given strict orders by the doctor not to put weight on it for at least a week. So no more exercise and being sat at home bored out of my skull resulted in a lot of comfort eating. I went to weigh in and over the 2 weeks had gaine 1.5lb so I was pretty chuffed. Problem is by having those 2 weeks off I've really struggled to get back on SW. I've not been sticking to the rules and this weekend alone the OH and I had an indian take away and pizza take away! I will face the music tonight and see what the scales say. I was 1lb under target last week so I do have 4lb to play with.

Just goes to show how easy it is to slip back into old habits!

Well just one week completely off plan with no exercise and I put on 4lb!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! In a way it's good because I have to lose weight now so I'm just going back on plan. I find it much easier to follow SW rules than I do my own maintenance rules.
