Baby Charlie has arrived so lets get on with shedding the rest of this wobble!!!

Evening all

Nikki -Im loving my red week so far (not as much faff as I expected it to be :D)..although I will wait and see what my weigh in on Sunday says before I decide if I "really really" like red days ;)

Well I have been a busy bee today -I decided to have a clothes clear out-it was spurred on by the van coming round that drops off washing baskets for you to put old shoes n clothes in (they collect the day after -so not long to get sorted really ). Also I have decided that I am NOT going to gain the weight back EVER -so I am getting rid of everything as soon as I have "out-shrunk" it :8855:-The really good/new stuff Im getting rid of on here, some other stuff has gone in the baskets and the battered stuff is in a bag to go to the recycling bin next time we go to the supermarket...
Anyway our laundry room is in the basement -so I got all the clean clothes into one of those large bags that fit shopping trolleys-and lugged it up 2 flights of stairs into our bedroom -It was so blinkin heavy I weighed it and I was amazed to see it weighed 1lb less than what I have lost  - I made even more determined to keep on going... I can't believe I have lost that much :bliss:....
Then of course I tried on a few bits that have not fitted for ages or not since I got them and I got into a 22 pair of trousers (no elastic) -so somehow I have gone from a 26/28 to a 22 in 7 weeks :faint2: .....
and I spent the best part of the day fettling -so hopefully I will have burnt some more cals :D
Tomorrow Im doing the spare room -who knows what I will find :p
Anyway -after all that waffle...
I was really ready for dinner tonight -and here it is:-

Somehow I had used the last of my oyster sauce -so I used sweet chili sauce instead -Im glad I did..it was gorgeous :drool:and I have a slightly smaller portion to warm up for my lunch tomorrow:eat:
oohhh and I manage to get an hour in on the wii tennis after dinner too :happy036:

Right Im sure I have bored you all enough for now...
Have a good night all -sleep well

Hi Capricorn! Just thought I'd drop by and say hello so you know I haven't forgotten you. That must have been great to realise exactly how much you were lugging around with you every day, that you don't have to lug around any more. I'm the same as you in that I'm never putting my weight back on again and I've got rid of my "fat" clothes.

Anyway, keep up the good work and well done for dropping those dress sizes already! It's a great feeling isn't it?

Bye for now, Trace xx

Morning all :D
Hi Trace.... it was a shock to my system when I realised just how heavy that bag was .....
Wasn't it last night that you were going to see Bon Jovi? -hope it was a great night *how could it be anything else* ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :p

Well its a little overcast here -hopefuly it will clear the air as it has been so close n sticky this last few days ...

well my meal plan for today is:-
  • 250ml semi skimmed X 2 = (Ax2)
  • warm water with lemon juice
  • 28g oats (B)
  • mixed berries
  • banana
  • natural yogurt
  • SW cantonese pork in chili sauce (1.5)+stir fry (0.5)-extras left from last night ;)
  • cantaloupe melon
  • honeydew melon
  • pineapple
  • SW cardomom chicken
  • 227g jacket potatoe (B)-
  • cauliflower
  • carrots
  • SF jelly with berries (0.5)
So that will be 2,5syns -assuming I don't end up making any alterations :p
Im looking forward to todays food-lots of lovely different flavours mmmmmmmm. I have made the marinade for the chicken and got the chicken breast sat in it now -so they should have soaked plenty of flavour up by about 6pm tonight...
I don't have much planned for today -must get some exercise in though and I may make a start on sorting out the spare bedroom
Right off to make my porridge...
Have a lovely day everyone:D

Morning Capricorn.. Way to go on getting into smaller clothes, thats a fab size drop in 7 weeks, wowwww :).

Just peeked at your cardomon chicken, how do you make that? Always looking for new dishes :). Keeps it interesting doesn't it?

Hope the air clears, it rained like hell here yest, thundered too, and I had that heavy head feeling before it too.. so glad its lifted now and I can go out and walk this morn without getting wet :).

Have a good day and hope you get your room sorted :) X

Hi Capricorn! No I haven't been to see Bon Jovi yet (not this year anyway! :-D) I'm going on the 17th and 22nd. I'm also seeing Greenday at Wembley on the 19th and have an interview on the 24th - all in London!!! Methinks I'm gonna be knackered by the end of the month!!

Sad day today - it's the 2nd anniversary of my Dad's death from a brain tumour. Have had a few tears, but haven't eaten anything I shouldn't - don't even feel the urge to!!! I remember after his funeral me, my Mum and daughter went to a local cafe which does fabulous cakes and all stuffed ourselves silly with cake!! My son went to the pub with his Dad (we're divorced) and had a few drinks instead!

Anyway, keep up the good work and KTF - Always!!!!

Trace xxx

Oh Trace Im sorry its a sad day for you ... well done on keeping strong and not giving into old habits....
I lost my dad on my 16th birthday so 22 years ago now, and its coming up to the 2year anniversary of losing my sister to ovarian cancer (I made her a promise that I would get rid of my weight ;))-so I can't let her down now can I !!!
My niece is off to see Green day in the next few days -she only moved to sweden about 1 month ago but she is in back in the UK at the moment just to see them :p
Good luck on the interview -hope its for a dream job ...

Be kind to yourself -especially today.... think of all the good memories ;)
Take care and of course ... KTF :D

Hiya!!! How awful for you to lose your Dad on your birthday! :hug99: Don't know how I'd cope with that - but you obviously have. And now you've lost your sister as well - life (or should I say death) is so unfair sometimes.

Dunno about a dream job lol!!! I'm a civil servant and it's for a 2-year training course, at the end of which I'll get promoted. If I gt on the course, I reckon I'll be the oldest trainee in the country! :8855: I'll be nearly 52 by then!!!

Have a great evening and I'll no doubt catch up with you tomorrow xxx

Hi Trace
Hope today is a better one for you ;)

Well folks -I didn't check in last night -I got carried away watching the big bang theory :p
Anyway -I finished last night having used 2.5 syns -after some adjustments to my meal ... I ended up having jacket potato instead of saute (so that saved on oil) -and I didn't fancy my yog (so that saved another 8).... and I managed 1hr 30 on the wii -so Im nearly at my target for my 2 week "exercise my butt off challenge" -and it doesn't finish until Monday;)

Well here was my brekki for yesterday -god it was scrummy -I will definitely be doing that again... it was just 28g oats (B), milk from my allowance and then a sliced banana and 50g mixed berries on it mmmmmmm

Now this is the Cardamom chicken -which was nice -but a very distinctive taste -I think they use too much cardomom -so I will be "tweaking it" if I do it again -
Nikki -let me know if you want the recipe

right I will finish here -and post todays waffle on a seperate page :D

Morning all -Its me again :8855:

Well todays meal plan is looking like this:-
  • 250ml semi skimmed X 2 (AA)
  • lemon juice in warm water
  • 2 bacon
  • mushrooms
  • fresh tomatoes -sliced and warmed through
  • banana
  • 2 ryvita (B)
  • ham
  • 1 laughing cow light (1.5)
  • salad
  • pickles
  • 50g kraut salat (1.5)
  • melon
  • thai steamed salmon (1)
  • stir fried veg (1)
  • creamy yogurt (8)
So that should be 13 syns -
I have treated myself to a tub of fresh kraut salad(basically white cabbage, onion, peppers, vinegar and then there is a bit of oil in there too) -I adore the stuff -but unlike saur kraut (which I don't like and is free) -I have to syn it -but its worth it and I do struggle to use my syns .... so this is another way of using them without having to have crisps/chos ect -which I don't want to do -and to be honest I haven't missed them once in 7 weeks
Left to my own devices I have been know -pre-SW to have a bowl of it on its own for my lunch :8855:... I don't half have some strange food addictions :p

I have been pondering about my fruit consumption too -I can and do eat silly amounts of fruit -which I know is "free" on SW and is a much better choice than junk, but I appretiate that it still has cals in -so I have started buying more fresh pineapples and honeydew/canteloupe melons -So now I prepare them and cut them into chunks and keep them in tubs in the fridge -then I get to sit with some on a plate :D- not only are the melons SS -but it stops me from mindlessy munchin fruit whilst on the PC, watching TV etc..and its not more expensive than keeping 3 fruit bowls full -you know its bad when you have 3 fruit bowls and there is only you that eats fruit :8855:-so i will be interested to see if it makes much difference -if nothing else at least it should hopefully get me out of the habbit of constantly having a piece of fruit in my face :8855:
Bet you didn't know someone could waffle so much about fruit did you :p

Right that is enough waffle for now -I will get off and make my brekkie
Have a beautiful day everyone:D

Well aren't I full of :blahblah::blahblah::blahblah: today :p

I don't know about everyone else -but here it is really sticky n muggy weather -we really need a good down pour to clear the air.

Anyway-so far today I have managed 1hr on the wii -so just 1hr 18 mins left to do (which I will get in later) and I will have achieved my challenge -to do 21hrs exercise in 14 days and it will have only taken me 11 days :character00116::character00115: ....
I have had my lunch and it was lovely

I don't think I have posted this recipe before..its from the SW World of flavours

  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2tsp cloves ----- tie these 3 into a piece of muslin
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 400g pickling onions -peeled and blanched
  • juice 1/2 lemon -I missed this out
  • seasoning
  1. put sliced onions, garlic and half stock in a large flameproof casserole - cover and bring to the boil for 5-10 mins
  2. reduce the heat and simmer uncovered 20-30 mins until the onions are golden
  3. add steak and brown.
  4. add puree, red wine, vinegar, herbs and remaining stock
  5. drop in the muslin parcel
  6. cover and cook in the oven for 1 hr then add pickling onions then cook for a further 1-1.5hrs until steak is tender
  7. remove herbs and spice bag
  8. add seasoning and lemon juice
It was gorgeous... I bubbled it to death on top of the stove just before serving to reduce the liquid right down,,,,, and like many things its much nice made the day before you want it and left to stand ;)

right I had better get off and get some more wii done...
Have a great afternoon all:D

thai steamed salmon recipe

Ohhhh yes -im back...again :p

Here is what I have just had for my dinner -

as you can see -its not the jacket potato I planned :8855:-I forgot hubby was out until 9pm tonight, so doesn't want feeding -so I made my fave.... Thai steamed salmon nomnomnom-it is dead simple and really tasty..... in case anyone wants the recipe -here it is :-

Thai steamed salmon
  • 1 onion -finely sliced
  • 1-2 cloves garlic-peeled n sliced
  • 1/2" piece of ginger -cut into thin matchsticks
  • 1tbs Fish sauce
  • 1tsp soft dark brown sugar (1 syn)..
  1. throw everything in a small pan and heat through
  2. place a piece of salmon an a sheet of foil (I use the skinless, boneless ones)
  3. then pile the onion mixture onto the salmon fillet
  4. wrap tightly and bake until cooked through (about 10 mins)
hope you love it -I forget how much I love it until I do it again and then its like a little plate of heaven :p

Looks really pretty.

Q

Thanks queenie :D

morning all .... so then, todays meal plan is:-
  • 250ml semi skimmed X 2 = (AA)
  • lemon juice in warm water
  • banana
  • sliced roast beef
  • 2 ryvitas (B)
  • 1 laughing cow light (1.5)
  • salad
  • gherkins
  • beetroot
  • melon
  • pineapple
  • SW coq au Vin (1.5)
  • 198g steamed potatoes (B)
  • carrots
  • Melon
  • Pineapple
So that should be 3 syns used -unless I make some swappsies again :p
I don't have much planned for today -I will be sorting out my meal plan for next week, I think its going to be another Red week... Im thinking of doing 2 red weeks and then 1 EE and then 2 red weeks and so on.... Im finding I really like planning all my meals (even if I do an occasional swap) -it just seems so much easier to make sure Im using my A+B options properly and that Im getting lots of variety
I want to get n the wii later and if the weather is half way decent we will be getting up at 5:00am tomorrow morning for another walk around the golf course, which should give me another 3 hrs exercise :happy036:
Right I will get off and catch up..have a great day everyone :D

Hi Nikki

Yep-Im enjoying red days more than I did EE -Im not quite why sure to be honest, I seem to have more carbs vis my 2 healthy Bs than I gave myself on EE :p... only a couple more days until weigh in -so I will wait and see how I go, although even if its its pretty much the same rate of loss as EE I am thinking of sticking mainly to red days as I prefer them..
How is your week going?

Well folks I have re-jigged again today :8855:-I wasn't that hungry at brekkie time -so I just had a banana ...then so I used my Healthy B (should have been weetabix) I had 2 seeded ryvitas with a laughing cow lite along with my salad and beef....

But then when I did the coq au vin -I had my potatoes and broccoli and cauli -so I didn't spend points on peas :p..and Im not going to be needing my yogurt... so i need to go back and alter my meal plan so i can alter my points used to just 3 ;)
I have to say that anyone who hasn't tried the coq au vin from the SW "world of flavour" book really should -it is stunning :D we have half left that will go in the freezer for next week mmmmmm

I have done 1hr 20 on the wii today..so i need to add that to my ticker -even though Im in credit ;)-then I will catch up on here and go and have some melon and pineapple nomnomnom
have a great night everyone :D
oooooh and keep your pinkies crossed for nice weather..we will be getting up at 5am for a 3hr walk :D-unless it pees it down :p

Morning Capricorn :).

I'm good thanks, now that I'm not bunged up, lol. The pain killers did it, the little bleeders, but steak and curry, shifted it ;)

I like EE days, but scales haven't shifted since WI day (back on Tues morn), so I am def gonna give Red/Green Days a go for the week next week, will alternate them, and know I can as did it when I used to do sw and remembered looking forward to the green days, re pasta etc..

Made a lovely curry last night, free on Red and EE (posted recipe on my diary and recipe section). My mate came over and she said she was really enjoying it, so it was nice to eat sw style with her. She even said she's gonna give sw a week's trial herself on green and red.

Hope you walk went ok yest and it did't rain! I'm off for a walk into town today, might take my son to borrow his arms, lol. I do like walking, but this sling is so heavy around my neck and my arm is sore at times too when I do, so will see how far I can get.

Have a lovely day and I must say your pics look vibrant again, yummy food :) xx

That looks fab, but I'm not really a fan of salmon - have you tried it with white fish or chicken?

Afternoon all

Well -I got my walk out this morning and it didn't start spitting until the 14th hole and we had huge brollies so we were ok -we were out there at 6:30 -so judged it right...in the end it took us 2hr50mins :D,,, so hopefully that will help toward tomorrows weigh in -although the impending * week won't

Todays meals have been or will be:-
  • 250ml semi skimmed (A)
  • banana
  • 1/2 cereal bar (B)-half way round the course ;)
  • omelette made with:-
  • 2 eggs
  • onions
  • peppers
  • mushrooms
  • fresh tomatoes
  • ham
  • 21g low fat cheddar (1/2 A)
  • strawberries
  • apple
  • meatballs:-
  • minced steak
  • onions
  • spices
  • natural yogurt
  • Sauce:-
  • onions
  • garlic
  • peppers
  • tomatoes
  • passata
  • courgettes
  • mushrooms
  • carrot
  • chillis
  • served with:-
  • steamed cabbage
  • 71g peas (B)
  • 21g low fat cheddar on top (1/2 A)
  • melon
  • pineapple
Now that doesn't use any syns -so if I might have an 8syn yogyog later -if I fancy one :D
Im doing hubbie meatballs on pasta -but Im too tight fisted to spend points on it :8855:and if Im honest Im finding Im much less sluggish since I stopped having bread/pasta products....
Nikki -glad the "blockage" has been sorted, it is so uncomfortable isn't it....-I feel like death if I don't go 3 times a day  -luckily I have the digetive system of a greyhound :D....mind when I was in hospital before xmas it was a nightmare I couldn't even keep water or my painkilling liquid down for 6 days after the op -let alone food -so they shoved everything in via a drip -so that was "fun" -by the time I got home it took days to get my system back to normal (well as normal as I ever am :p)
I hope you managed to drag your son along as your bag carrier..... they have to have their uses don't they ;)
hope you are having a good weekend..and keep up the good work

Hi Spanx -sorry I didn't see your post earlier.... not sure how I missed that-I must have been away with the fairies or still in shock from getting up so early again :D
Yep I have done it with white fish before -just the same-wrapped in foil. I thought about doing it with chicken, I reckon if you slashed the chicken breast so more flavour got in it would be lovely *note to self to try that* :8855:.... I think it works so well with salmon as the fish is creamy, then you get heat from ginger, sweet from the sugar and salty from the fish sauce...its gorgeous,,,,,hope you like it...

Well folks dinner went down a storm -even if I got carried away with the chillies (not for the faint hearted):sign0007:..

in the end I did....
  • 400g minced steak
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 4tbs natural yogurt
  • 1/2tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2tsp cumin seeds (ground)
  • cracked black pepper
  1. squished it all together and left to chill and then shaped into 20 balls and put in the fridge...
  2. I then dropped them into a hot non-stick pan and sealed -I then spooned in some of the sauce I made and cooked them through
the sauce was -now this is a "guesstimate" as I don't often weigh n measure ;) and you can obviously adjust to what you have or like
  1. 1tsp olive oil (you can always use low fat spray)
  2. 1 onion -chopped
  3. 2 carrots -chopped
  4. plenty of frozen peppers
  5. 1 big courgette
  6. 4 tomatoes that wanted using
  7. 2 chillies -chopped-I used scotch bonnet
  8. plenty of seasoning...
  9. 1/2 carton passata -wanted using
  10. frozen mushroom -defrosted and squeezed out
  • I do mine in the remoska -but you can throw 1-8 in a roasting tin and toss -
  • roast in a moderate oven until softened
  • add the passatta
  • blitz until almost smooth
  • return to the hob and add the mushrooms cook gently until reduce and thickened
I decided half way through eating it that a laughing cow light or 2 dropped into the sauce might have been nice to make it creamier (so will try that next time)

I did hubbies on pasta and I had steamed cabbage and peas and it was lovely(oooh and a used the peeler to add my 21g of low fat cheddar on top -purely to use up my healthy B of course ;)) -and there is half left that will go in the freezer once cold -at this rate next week will be a doddle as I have coq au vin and meatball made -so thats 2 quick dinners ;)

oohhh here was lunch -omelette stuffed with onions, tomato, peppers, mushrooms and ham -and my other 21g cheddar ...so even though you can't see them -there are plenty of veggies in there

and here are the meatballs -not that you can see them :p

well I won't be getting on the wii later -what with F1 and Football -so at least I got my walk in earlier..
Im going to have some melon and pineapple in a moment -then I reckon that is me done for the day ...
Weigh day in the morning -so pinkies crossed for something nice :p
Have a great evening everyone:D
